Chapter 517 Nelson (Part Two)
Nelson's fingers were elegant and powerful.
He deftly strummed the strings, and his singing flowed like a stream.
No matter how many times Dorothy listened, she would still be enchanted.
She was lost in thought for a while.
Then she picked up a pen and made some rapid changes on paper.
"I think this would be better."
She then hummed the tune to confirm her feeling.
Nelson took the pen from her hand and marked a few notes where she had just written.
His movements were swift, so quick that Dorothy didn't even have time to react before he was leaning beside her.
His hair was right in front of her, revealing his handsome face and long eyelashes.
His expression was so serious that Dorothy's heart raced.
A thought involuntarily came to her mind.
A man who works diligently is the most handsome.
Her heart pounded uncontrollably, and the noise in her ears grew louder.
"Step back!"
She pushed Nelson away.
Caught off guard, he nearly bumped into the table.
Dorothy was feeling a mix of guilt and regret, "Are you alright?"
"What's wrong with you?" Nelson frowned.
"Leave me alone. I hope you won't come here often."
"Your brother is busy recently, your parents are getting old, what would you do if I didn't come? "
"You don't need to worry about that."
Dorothy turned her face away, "The door is over there. Goodbye!"
Nelson looked at her in surprise.
After a moment of silence, he packed his things.
"There's food in the fridge. Heat it up later. I'll leave now."
The door gently closed, leaving the living room eerily quiet.
Only a piece of lyrics he had forgotten remained on the table.
Dorothy picked up the paper and lightly traced the words he had left with her finger.
Her heart suddenly raced, and her cheeks flushed red.
She lamented, "What is wrong with me... This isn't like me at all."
In front of Nelson, it seemed like all her flaws burst forth.
Dorothy picked up a pen and began revising the lyrics for Nelson.
After a busy day, she finally relaxed.
Her phone was buzzing with messages from her friend.
[Nelson looks so handsome at the film festival opening!!]
Dorothy saw the photo her friend sent, lost in thought.
The man in the photo was incredibly eye-catching.
She had to admit that Nelson was truly outstanding.
Even in the entertainment industry filled with beauties, he stood at the peak.
Such a man had just cooked for her, had lunch with her.
The two of them were close, almost like a couple.
As soon as this thought arose, Dorothy snapped out of it.
Because she saw a female star elegantly dressed next to Nelson, a budding actress who had recently gained fame.
The two of them appeared like a perfect match.
She suddenly remembered the rumors circulating online.
She was Nelson's rumored girlfriend, right?
Dorothy looked at herself in the mirror, feeling ashamed.
"Am I going crazy? How could he possibly be interested in me?"
Dorothy's vision blurred, and she silently wept.
All these days of supposed dislike were just a cover-up for the true feelings she didn't want to admit.
She liked Nelson.
She didn't know when it started, but by the time she realized it, her feelings had spiraled out of control.
At the film festival opening, Nelson was busy.
Flawless performances under the lights were his duties as an artist.
After finishing work for the day, Nelson got into the car.
Mollie handed him a thermos.
Nelson smiled, "Why are you here?"
"You won the award for best film score. As your boss, how could I not come to congratulate you?"
Mollie smiled gently.
"Hassan is still working. I have to pick him up later."
Nelson glanced at his phone and found that Dorothy had already sent him the revised lyrics.
He hummed along with the melody, and his eyes sparkled instantly.
"Dorothy is truly a genius."
He immediately praised loudly, his smile overflowing.
"Cara's sister-in-law?"
"Yes. She is remarkable."
Nelson was full of admiration, "She may have a temper, but isn't it normal to have it when she is so talented?"
As he was about to reply to Dorothy, his phone vibrated.
It was a message from Dorothy.
[Please stop coming. You have done enough. I am sorry for always being so hostile towards you.]
Nelson tried to message her back, but a bright red exclamation mark on the screen stung his eyes.
"What's wrong?"
Mollie noticed that Nelson's expression was off.
"She has blocked me..."
Nelson found it unbelievable, "Why would she block me? Did I do something wrong?"
Mollie became intrigued, squinting her eyes.
"Tell me, how did you two get along before?"
The room fell silent.
Dorothy lay on the bed, she wasn't actually asleep at all.
Blocking Nelson took almost all her courage.
In that moment of confirmation, she felt like a piece was missing from her heart.
She reassured herself.
"It's okay, we are not meant to be on the same path, it's better to realize it sooner."
She didn't know how she fell asleep, but the next day she woke up with swollen eyes.
The internet was flooded with news about Nelson, she couldn't escape it.
