Chapter 513 Liam
"Sir, here is your medical report."
Liam was momentarily stunned as he received the grim results.
The contents within required no further scrutiny.
He was already well aware.
Each time he returned for a reevaluation, hoping for a miracle.
Unfortunately, no miracle came.
His attending physician regretfully said, "Liam, prolonged exposure to toxic plants has eroded your body."
Liam seemed to have already accepted this reality, a faint smile gracing his face.
"Well, it is truly unfortunate."
He adjusted his glasses on his nose, smiling serenely.
Leaving the hospital, he incinerated the medical report, immersing himself back into work.
Three whole days passed before Liam belatedly realized the gravity of his situation.
That evening, gazing at his reflection in the mirror, he murmured.
"I'm about to die...But there are so many unfinished matters."
Yet, impending death was an undeniable fact.
Summoning his resolve, Liam declared, "I must do something for her."
The following day, he purchased a plane ticket directly to the city where Mollie resided.
She was exceedingly intelligent, with a keen sense of vigilance.
This was precisely why Liam hesitated to live in the same city as her.
If she were to discover his presence, she might abandon all that she had painstakingly built and leave with her kids.
This was not the scenario Liam wished to witness.
He sought out Fletcher.
"How have things been recently?"
Fletcher replied, "Everything is proceeding smoothly. She is a wonderful partner."
A glint of excitement flickered in Fletcher's eyes as he spoke.
"You know I wasn't referring to that," Liam chuckled.
"Oh..." Fletcher scratched the back of his head.
"She's been doing well lately, the children are healthy, but her recovery is not yet complete. I've noticed her secretly browsing online for information."
"What has she been searching for?"
"A man named Hassan Cole."
"Anything else?"
"Nothing else."
"Thank you."
"Liam, you saved me and brought me here to fulfill my dreams. I just want to know, when will my memories return?"
Fletcher expressed some concern.
"Be patient. Perhaps at a certain moment, everything will come flooding back."
"Okay."
Fletcher held firm belief in his words.
Disguising himself as Fletcher's assistant, Liam stealthily approached Mollie's side.
It had been over a year since he last saw her.
Mollie's visage remained as it was before, incomparably lovely.
Yet, a hint of paleness lingered, indicating her incomplete recovery.
After such a perilous childbirth, surviving was a testament to divine favor.
Liam regretted deeply.
He should not have jeopardized her safety for his selfish desires.
He remained by her side for nearly a month.
His disguise was impeccable, nearly imperceptible.
Not even Mollie noticed him.
She only asked once, "You look familiar, have we met before?"
Liam's voice had been altered by medication in advance, devoid of any recognizable trace of his former self.
"I don't know you."
Mollie did not dwell on this, as she hurried off to attend to her two treasures.
Little did she know, Liam stood rooted in place, watching her for a long time.
It wasn't until her figure vanished completely that he finally turned away.
That fleeting glance shook his entire being.
After such a long separation, this was the first time they had spoken.
Her kids were at the most endearing age.
He suddenly realized he wanted to do something for her.
Finally, he seized the opportunity to play with the two kids with Fletcher.
While they were playing, he collected the fingerprints of the two kids.
Soon, he entrusted everything to Fletcher as he bid a reluctant farewell.
For the remainder of his life, he intended to undertake more endeavors.
Returning to Lequa, he observed Hassan enduring lovesickness, feeling somewhat comforted.
Thankfully, this man did not forget about Mollie.
If Hassan found another woman, he would kill Hassan.
Liam began to plan.
It seemed time was a bit insufficient.
Liam couldn't help but feel distressed.
He had stayed in the laboratory for more than half a year.
Time hurried by.
Liam never anticipated that the first individuals to initiate this game were Mollie's kids.
Upon receiving news that they had traveled all the way to Lequa, he was dumbfounded.
Even he and Mollie had never been so audacious in their youth.
Liam hastily contacted his associates to ensure the safe arrival of the two kids.
He had set aside all his tasks to welcome the two kids.
Along the way, he felt a sense of excitement, envisioning a scene where the children would call his name.
The journey to the airport was slightly congested, but he finally arrived.
Seeing the figures of the two kids approaching from afar, Liam couldn't help but feel a surge of joy.
Just as he was about to greet them, he suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure not far ahead—Hassan!
Hassan had already encountered the two little ones.
Witnessing this scene, Liam felt as if his heart was blocked.
Perhaps this was fate.
He always seemed to be one step behind.
His initial excitement gradually subsided.
He watched the two kids depart.
"I never expected fate to wield such a powerful force."
He coughed violently, feeling a fiery pain in his chest.
Time was running out.
He needed to hasten his pace.
