Chapter 508 Selfish
"It is you who has changed!"
Mollie's demeanor grew calmer.
She was acutely aware of the strength of the person before her.
"I remember you were not like this when you were younger. Why would you commit such acts? You know that I do not harbor feelings for you! I have always regarded you as a brother."
Liam smiled bitterly.
"I know."
He gazed at Mollie, slowly approaching her.
"Initially, I merely wanted to be with you, but desires grew. Greed consumes us all, and I am no exception. However, I did not anticipate that he would become so significant in your heart."
Mollie gazed at him, her emotions in turmoil.
She turned to look at her beloved on the other side.
"So, you projected yourself to meet him, while presenting your real self to me?"
Liam nodded.
"Yes, you are the most important person to me, so I had to come and see you in person."
Mollie narrowed her eyes.
"What do you want?"
"I want you to see that, in this world, no one will treat you better than I do. I know your condition well, but he..."
Liam sneered at Hassan.
"Will he accept that? You have brought him so much regret, something you can never compensate for."
"Mollie, let's play a game. If your decisions align, I will let you both go. But if they differ, I will have to keep you both with me, at the bottom of this lake."
Liam chuckled.
Despite his cruel words, his face bore a gentle smile.
"What about Batiber? Don't you think it's time to come clean?"
Mollie furrowed.
Liam said, "To me, Batiber are insignificant compared to you."
"I won't let anything you dislike survive in this world."
Mollie was moved.
After a moment of silence, she gazed at him warily.
"What decisions?"
"Let's hear what Hassan says first."
Liam pressed a button on his wrist, and Hassan's voice soon filled the space.
Hassan: "This is impossible."
Liam: "This is the surgery record. You can see the contents, validated with the hospital's authoritative signature and seal."
Liam pointed to the documents laid out on the table.
Surgery record?!
Mollie's pupils constricted.
Liam continued, "During childbirth, she was at death's door. She suffered from severe hemorrhaging, necessitating a hysterectomy. She is not a whole woman now, unable to bear you another kid."
Every word he spoke was factual.
How could Hassan now know this truth?!
She had considered numerous possibilities, but never this...
Why was it Liam who told him?!
Liam continued, "Due to this, her body is not as robust as before. Even with the presence of her masters, her recovery remains incomplete. She has been depleting her life force to be by your side, Hassan. Have you understood my words?"
"She won't live long."
Hassan observed the documents silently, his expression unreadable.
"So?" Hassan asked coldly.
"What are you trying to tell me?"
"I can save her. But I have two conditions—firstly, I need your blood, which means you will die in a few days. Secondly, I want to take Mollie away immediately, so she won't be worried for you. I want her to live happily."
"If you agree, we can begin now."
Hassan chuckled coldly.
"And if I refuse?"
"Hassan, do you have conscience?"
Liam's face darkened, "Mollie has sacrificed so much for you, yet you are unwilling to do even this small gesture for her? She has saved you countless times, you owe her more than you could ever repay!"
Hassan burst into hearty laughter.
"Liam, do you always see me as a reckless and impulsive man, always falling short compared to you? In your eyes, if not for the engagement, the one who should have been with her would have been you?"
Hassan restrained the smile on his face, his eyes sparkling like stars.
Liam pursed his lips, "Isn't it?"
"Of course not."
In front of Liam, Hassan slowly tore the documents into pieces.
"I do not wish to see these, as they are her scars, I will not uncover them. Do you think I am unaware of her physical secrets? I am her husband, how could I not know about her well-being? We spend our days and nights together, my understanding of her surpasses even hers!"
Liam was taken aback, "You already knew that?"
Hassan waved his hand, the paper pieces fluttering like snowflakes.
"I knew."
In just two words, Mollie felt her ears ringing.
Hassan had known all along...
"Not only do I know, I also understand what she is thinking."
Liam immediately realized, "You intend to keep her by using her guilt?"
"Yes. She has always been inflexible, not yielding to softness but only to coercion. The more I make her feel guilty, the less likely she will leave."
Hassan asserted confidently.
Liam was dumbfounded.
Things were not going according to his script, catching him off guard.
"I love Mollie. Except for death, nothing will separate me from her in this lifetime, including you."
Hassan stated coldly.
His countenance was so remarkably handsome, causing Mollie's heart to race.
"But she does not have long to live. Is this your idea of eternal love?"
"Hassan, aren't you being selfish?!"
