Chapter 505 Ashes
The door seemed old and unremarkable, but it had a palm-print activation system.
In other words, the door had already recorded the palm prints of Cassandra and Jenson, even those of Hassan and Mollie, so even if someone entered by mistake, they wouldn't be able to take anything from here.
Hassan was well aware of these nuances.
As he looked around the house, he sighed.
"Even with the latest technology at Diof Ventures, we cannot fully replicate this house."
Jenson found his gift was a piece of technological data.
His face lit up with a smile.
"Amazing!! Now I can upgrade my defense gun and continue my scientific research! Why would he give such a great gift to me?! Mommy, do you know him?"
Mollie's heart trembled slightly.
"I know him."
"He is a good person."
Cassandra couldn't let go of her hair clip.
She soon discovered that the hair clip had a hidden locator function.
The two kids loved their gifts.
The decorations in the room were the same as in the orphanage.
A mobile phone lay on the table.
Hassan had said that this room used the most advanced electrostatic dust removal technology, ensuring it stayed clean as new for decades.
The phone beeped, and the screen lit up.
Mollie instinctively picked it up and unlocked it with her fingerprint.
The phone opened, revealing a timed email inside.
The sender is Liam.
Welcome to my little world. I have invested a great deal of effort and time to create this space. If I were to disclose that I have expended my entire savings here, would you find it incredible?
Well, it is a pleasure to see you again in this manner.
I must have cast quite a shadow over you in these years. That proves my mischief has been successful.
That's all for today. I still harbor many secrets, and we can converse further tomorrow.
The email abruptly ends here.
Mollie gazed blankly for a moment and furrowed her brow.
"Where is he?"
Hassan replied, "Since we are both here, we will find him eventually."
Mollie nodded, placing the phone into her pocket.
The family searched around but found nothing.
They returned once more to the villa, where Jonah had prepared a sumptuous dinner for them.
The two kids were famished.
Although they had brought food with them, it could not compare to a hot meal.
Seeing the children enjoy the meal, Jonah's mom smiled lovingly.
"Kids, don't choke."
Strangely, as they neared finding Liam, Mollie remained remarkably calm.
She ate leisurely, her expression indifferent.
This eased the worry that had been plaguing Hassan.
Just as the family finished dinner, Maggie arrived.
Jonah blocked her at the door.
"What are you doing here again? Didn't I make it clear last time? We do not acknowledge any engagement you mentioned."
Maggie was almost furious.
As a wealthy young lady, she was usually welcomed wherever she went.
Yet, Jonah was obstinate.
He didn't even bother pretending with people he disliked.
Maggie retorted, "Jonah, I am not here to see you."
"This is my house, don't make me act."
Jonah immediately shielded his family behind him.
Maggie gritted her teeth, "I'm here for that woman."
She gestured toward Mollie.
"Me?" Mollie raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Yes," Maggie sneered, but her eyes flicked towards Hassan.
"Does Hassan know your secrets? Judging by Jonah's reaction, he seems oblivious. Pity."
With a feigned sympathetic tone, she even wiped her eyes.
"Hassan, I feel sorry for you."
"What do you want to say?"
Mollie's heart rang alarm bells.
"Hassan, here is your wife's medical report. Would you like to see it for yourself? It states she has long lost her fertility and can hardly be considered a normal woman anymore."
Maggie raised her voice, particularly smug.
Mollie's breath almost stopped.
"Not only that, her physical condition is far from what it seems. She wouldn't live long. This woman has deceived you so much. These two kids may not even be yours!"
Before she could finish, a strong hand clutched Maggie's throat, lifting her straight off the ground.
It was Hassan!
His eyes were dark as night, akin to the king of the underworld.
Maggie couldn't breathe, her legs flailing in mid-air.
"Hel...help..."
Maggie was terrified.
At that moment, she only wished to escape, the sooner, the better.
With a swift motion, Hassan flung her away.
She tumbled, curling up and gasping for air.
Jonah was stunned.
Mollie was at a loss for how to react.
The exposure filled her with unprecedented fear.
Even when she went to the orphanage alone years ago, she had never experienced such fear.
She even dared not meet the man's gaze.
"Leave."
Hassan drew a defensive gun and aimed it at Maggie.
Terrified, Maggie whimpered, "I'm sorry, I'll leave."
Maggie treated the gun as a real weapon, huddling on the ground like a pile of mud.
The gun's muzzle emitted numerous flashes, nearly as bright as fire.
With a loud bang, an electric surge struck the documents in Maggie's hand, reducing them to ashes.
