As Marlie sat there on his lap, Chad had no choice but to be fast to clear all issues to save himself from that devil of a woman on his lap. Damn it, he was suffocating already.

Clearing his throat to gain everyone's attention, Chad asked... "Charlie, now tell us why you had to slap Angelina out of the blue. It wasn't a good idea to do that to her. I know you must be mad at her for reasons I don't want to mention now but to act like that?" He said with a slight frown and shook his head.

"I don't know.....maybe it's the effect of the pregnancy!" Marlie shamelessly declared as she shrugged. How she wished to tell the truth to Angelina's face and have Chad strangle her. But as Spark said, this is not the right time.

Chad almost bit his tongue at Marlie's shamelessness. Effect of her pregnancy? Well, yeah! As if that's the damn case. And Spark applauds Marlie in his head.

Angelina almost spat out blood out of anger. Was Charlie kidding her? "Huh... you slapped me because of your damn pregnancy?!" She finally asked, feeling incredulous.

"Yes, I did! Maybe my baby has also recognized how vicious and desperate you are! You deserve that slap." Marlie spat, her eyes blazing with fury. She wanted so badly to stand up and give Angelina another slap.

But Chad held her firmly to his chest as he tried to calm her down before shifting his gaze to Angelina.

"Angelina... I want to apologize on behalf of Charlie for the slap. As she said...it's the effect of the pregnancy. I hope you will understand how pregnant women behave." Chad apologized.

"Understand her....?(scoffed). Why should I Chad?
I didn't do anything wrong to her or her baby, so why would Charlie hit me out of nowhere? And that too in front of the employees? What a joke! What will become of my reputation in front of the employees now?" Angelina almost yelled at Chad for apologizing on Marlie's behalf.

"Angelina, I'm sorry." Chad apologized again. He tried his best to calm everything down, including his urges. Marlie wasn't sitting still even if Chad was holding her waist firmly on his lap.

"But I'm not. I think she deserved it!" Marlie barked as she glared daggers at Angelina. The nerve of her to deceive both Chad and Charlie. Her sister was depressed because of Angelina's lies. Damn her!

But she has a better way of showing Angelina her position around Chad. So she sits well, closer to Chad's chest, leaving no space for air to pass through.

"Charlie...."
Chad tried to reprimand Marlie because of the danger of her sitting position, but that came out to the others as if he was reprimanding her for not being remorseful about what she did to Angelina. As if Marlie cares! She retorted sharply,

"It's not me. It's the baby... our baby!" Marlie said, provocatively, leaning in closer over the desk to spit it in Angelina's face. Chad closed his eyes in anguish, and Spark couldn't stop giggling at Chad's poor state. But Gideon and David were only concentrated on the petty fight between Marlie and Angelina.

Angelina glared at Marlie with red teary eyes. She so badly wants to kill her while Marlie shakes her body provocatively to annoy her further. Angelina got up, holding onto the desk with her hands as she spoke,

"Chad, I want to tell you I have reached my limit with this woman. I'm keeping mute not because of this despicable woman who likes to seek attention.

I will protect your image and let this go. But I hope you realize this woman will bring you nothing but disgrace. And I won't sit quietly for her to tarnish your image. I am not like her who pretends to love you."

When Angelina was done, she didn't waste a minute being annoyed further and left the office after saying her mind, and Marlie escorted her,
"BLA BLA BLA BLA..."

Chad sat quietly, not saying a word when Angelina was speaking. Not because he agreed with her. But with Marlie shaking herself and her waist on his lap at each word Angelina was uttering, how could he even concentrate?
Gosh, it was not only Angelina who had reached her limit, but Chad too.

Damn it! Chad looked like he was breaking down from trying to control himself with Marlie's movement on his lap.

Of course, Marlie knew what she was doing to him.
She could feel the unusually warm breath of Chad at her back. However, she didn't care. She was just happy to finally find out that Chad never cheated on her sister. Nevertheless, it was enough.

Chad had had enough of Marlie's act. But Marlie was still pretending to be ignorant of her actions. Seriously! Was that the case, or did this crazy girl have a crazy idea running through the crazy head of hers?

"I want to talk to Charlie.... ALONE!" Chad finally declared as he looked at his two friends and David. Everyone thought, again, he was going to reprimand her except Spark.

All of them left, not wanting to pry further. Though Spark wanted to stay to tease them, he still left with the rest nevertheless.

When everyone left, Marlie still sat there. Chad proceeded to question Marlie regarding her actions. "Do you know the consequences of your action?" He asked while rubbing his forehead in frustration.

"I am but a child, how will I know?" Marlie retorted playfully.

"Charlie!..." Chad called out. He wanted her to know that it was not right to use him to provoke Angelina, especially not in that position, and Marlie got Chad's words.

"What, will you punish me?" Marlie asked with a provocative smile. It seemed like she didn't hate him anymore. Rather, she was consciously enjoying her closeness to Chad. And she intended to provoke Chad.

Chad raised an eyebrow at her provocation. He wasn't that much surprised. After all, who said his little pumpkin is a virtuous woman? The word "stray" cat fits her better.
"Aren't you afraid?"

Marlie abruptly got up from Chad's lap and answered his question with a question. "Do I look like I'm afraid?"

Her back was still facing Chad, so she deliberately walked to the front of the desk before turning her face to Chad and questioning,

"I will have to ask you this one last time... Were you with Angelina yesterday?" Marlie finally asked what had been in her chest ever since she woke up.

"No! I wasn't with her. I swear I was with Spark, that asshole. I was there when you called him. I heard all that you two were talking about,... even when he said you are burning with jealousy." Chad defended himself sincerely, hoping that Marlie would believe him.

Marlie emotionlessly gazed at Chad for a while before she turned around and walked towards the door. That was it? Is she leaving?

When Marlie walked to the door and held the handle, she smiled to herself. A crazy idea popped into her mind.

And before Chad could say anything else, he heard the 'Click' noise of the door. Marlie had locked the door. Chad stared at her back for a minute, registering what was going on.

Then, when Marlie carefully turned from the door to face, Chad, his eyes immediately shifted to the door handle, realizing what Marlie had just done. His head was forced to raise, and he met her gaze. What is she thinking?

"I believe you," Marlie spoke and leaned against the door with a mischievous smirk dancing on her face.

"What are you..." Chad asked without turning his face or blinking his eyes. He just wanted to focus on Marlie and... Her gaze looked different. She was also rubbing her thighs against each other.

"Oops, my bad! The door got locked. Shouldn't I be afraid now of getting my punishment?!" She taunted as she bit her fingers seductively.
