Chapter 3

Upon entering the photo studio, the walls were adorned with numerous photographs, and two staff members looked past me and warmly asked the people behind me, "Are you a couple? Would you like to have a couple's portrait or something else? We have many styles suitable for both of you."

I was momentarily stunned and turned to see my sister-in-law clinging to Jacob's arm, looking utterly sweet together; no wonder the staff had mistaken them.

Seeing my face darken, Jacob quickly stepped forward and playfully said, "My wife and I are here for a couple's portrait."

The staff, though initially confused, quickly recovered and enthusiastically began to introduce their services.

I didn't miss the jealousy flashing through my sister-in-law's eyes.

After a while, she quietly wandered off to another style section.

I overheard a salesperson follow her and offer, "Miss, are you alone? Here, solo wedding dresses are quite popular. Would you like to try?"

I didn't think much of it, relieved that she was finally not disturbing us, and happily discussed with Jacob whether to opt for a Korean or Japanese style.

Jacob chose a white suit that suited him, and when he walked out, my eyes lit up.

Back in the day, he was quite the heartthrob, which is why I agreed to his proposal in less than a year.

"Brother!" shouted my sister-in-law as she ran over, her huge skirt billowing.

To my surprise, she had donned a wedding dress and was clinging to Jacob, who was in his suit.

"Brother! Do I look beautiful in this?" she asked, twirling in front of Jacob.

"Let's take a wedding photo together! I've never had a wedding shoot, and I really like it!" she said, cradling the dress and looking hopeful.

Jacob glanced at me then responded, "Isn't it better to wait? You'll have plenty of opportunities to take wedding photos in the future."

"I have no partner, and if you don't shoot with me, I'll have no one to take photos with! It's your fault I'm single!" she complained as she enthusiastically pulled Jacob aside, completely disregarding my feelings.

Was our anniversary photo session turning into her sibling wedding shoot?

I abruptly stood up and blocked them, "Mia, what are you doing?! Do you have a brother complex? You've been clinging to him from the start! Am I his wife, or are you? Even depending on a brother should have its limits!"

Mia snorted disdainfully and said, "They say a brother was his sister's lover in a past life. Can you control whether I take a wedding photo with my brother? Are you afraid I'll look better than you?"

Furious, I slammed down a photo album, "Have you no shame? How can you two have no sense of boundaries? Do you want to promote incest?"

"Yesterday, it was passing underwear in the bath, and last night, sleeping together. Today, it's wedding photos; what about tomorrow? Are you going to ask for a divorce so you two can marry?"

Jacob and Mia were taken aback by my blunt words. Jacob's face darkened, and Mia glared fiercely at me from behind.

"Amelia, don't speak so harshly!" Jacob said.

"We are just siblings who get along well, it's not as dirty as you think! My sister is just intrigued because she's never worn a wedding dress."

"People might think something else from what you're saying!" he added, then softly tugged at my sleeve.

"Let's not argue anymore," Jacob suggested. "Mia, you go ahead and look around. I'll take photos with your sister-in-law first, and later we can take a sibling photo, okay?"

Jacob cared about appearances, especially with the staff watching, fearing they might misunderstand.

However, my mood for photos was completely ruined, and even though I forced a smile, the pictures didn't turn out well.

With my sister-in-law tagging along, I felt it was utterly pointless and went home immediately after the shoot.
