Chapter 345

Chapter 345
Rachel’s Epilogue

3 Years later

I was lying on the grass in the garden, looking at the twins playing and Massimo chasing them. Mia Rose was sick a few days ago, but at least she is better now, and Alessio didn’t get it. ‘Thank God.” It was also their 3rd birthday, and we had a huge party. Massimo eventually bought them each a remote-control big car, which he used. Mia Rose got a pink Range Rover and Alessio a red Ferrari.

I’m 30 weeks pregnant at the moment; it took a long time to convince Massimo to get pregnant again. After the pregnancy with the twins, he was scared to get pregnant again. He was afraid something like what happened to Alessio would happen again. Luckily, I wasn’t awake to experience that fear. I was lying back and thinking of how far I’ve come from that girl in South Africa who was abused by her ex-husband to me running away from him to another continent. I remembered that faithful day when I bumped into Massimo, and I thought what an arrogant asshole he was, but how I couldn’t sleep that night as his aftershave clung to my body and I couldn’t stop thinking about him. Then he showed up at the coffee shop I worked at every morning. And look at us now. I thought back at everything I’ve overcome the last few years—the assault in the alleyway, how Massimo and Luca found me, then how Massimo didn’t want me to move back to Herman, where I originally stayed. He assigned Marco to me against my will, but when I got used to it, Marco and I are inseparable to this day. I thought about how my ex-husband came to New York to kidnap me and how we had to set a trap for him just to get rid of him, but we don’t talk about that. I thought back to our trip to Paris and how awesome it was. The proposal at the Eiffel Tower, but then one person had to spoil it for us as always. I thought about the sex club we visited while we were there and all the new experiences. I had the rigging (rope play), the spanking bench, and watching people have sex. It was an experience like no other. I thought back to our wedding day and how wonderful and intimate it was, but also how stupid I was the next day with the attitude of not wanting to know what was going on with Massimo’s business, and then the kidnapping happened and the rape. That all could have been avoided if I just listened to Massimo. Then the big safe I couldn’t believe what I went through in such a short time in my life. I remembered the trip to Sicily when we had to run away from the cartel and how Massimo was shot in the Hotel and how Little Nick came to the rescue. How everyone thought he was dead and we had a few awesome days in Venice. I thought about when the news was spread Massimo was alive and how they tried to kill him when we got back to the States but Massimo still got shot. My panic attack afterwards the blood pressure machine and the night nurse. There is a lot we went through in such a short time and through everything, I wouldn’t change a thing. As many bad days there were, there were a lot of better days. Massimo threatens me like his queen. He treats his children like they are his world.

He flew my parents out to New York to meet their grandchildren, but it was a disaster. The tension between us will always be there no matter where in the world I am, and I will always be different around them. They still don’t know why I left my ex or should I say they don’t want to know and they still ask about him. It’s not like I could tell them his six feet under. They didn’t give Mia Rose or Alessio a lot of attention but it was okay Rossa and Salvadore make up for it every Sunday we are with them. We make turns to visit each other every Sunday. Danielle and Damon are still together, but no there are no friends for Mia Rose or Alessio yet. I was taking out of my thoughts with Alessio running towards me and screaming, "Mommy, mommy, come play with us." Massimo chases after him and catches him just before he wants to jump on me “Baby boy, mommy can’t come and play right now,” I told him while I took his little face and kissed him on the forehead. "Alessio, mommy is baking your little brother.” Massimo told him. He just looked at his dad very confused and asked him, “Like cookies." Massimo laughed out of his stomach. “Yes, your smart boy just likes cookies.” That’s when Mia Rose joined us. "Mommy, mommy, look a flower.” I took the flower from her “thank you angel” “sniff mommy.” I made a big show of sniffing the flower. “It’s beautiful angel.” “Let’s go get some ice cream.” Massimo said, “Ice cream, Ice cream.” Both of them screamed as they ran towards the house. Massimo helped me to my feet as soon as I was standing in front of him; he kissed me, but we were interrupted by Mia Rose screaming, “Ice cream, mommy, daddy ice cream." “Where are you going?” I screamed. I looked at Massimo. “Thank you, Massimo." “For what, Bella?" “For this life you’ve given me for those two toddlers that’s running into the house for this boy growing inside me. For you being My Saviour." “You’ve got it wrong, Bella, you are My Saviour.”
