Chapter 711: Private Ward
Chapter 711: Private Ward
Phantom Island.
Elbert and Trinity sat together in a private hospital room.
In front of them, in the center of the room, was a hospital bed where Trinity's father Hall lay weakly.
Trinity looked around the room.
The space was vast, over 1000 square feet, with crystal-like red floors and ceiling that gave off a faint red glow.
The walls were made of tempered glass nearly 12 inches thick, equipped with controllable fogging devices that made the glass appear filled with mist, creating a privacy effect.
On one side of the room was a full array of the world's top medical equipment.
Trinity asked with confusion, "I don't think this room was on the island before?"
Elbert played with a metal ballpoint pen in his hand and smiled, "Built overnight, specially set up for your father."
Trinity was somewhat touched and nodded, "Elbert, thank you."
Then Hall's weak voice came through, "Trinity... I feel... this room is so hot..."
Trinity frowned too.
The temperature in the room was indeed much higher than outside, the heat apparently coming from the red floor.
Trinity was about to speak.
But Elbert stood up, "The old man's body is weak, being warm is good for him."
Elbert rose and nodded slightly toward Hall on the bed.
Carelessly, he left the metal ballpoint pen on the chair.
He pulled Trinity up, saying firmly, "He needs more rest, let's go outside and talk."
A somewhat confused Trinity was led directly out of the room by Elbert.
As soon as they stepped out.
The gentle smile on Elbert's face disappeared, his expression becoming calm, his eyes full of wisdom.
The fogging effect on the room's walls vanished, turning it into a transparent glass box with everything inside clearly visible.
Trinity turned back, shocked, "Elbert, what is this?"
Elbert stood with his hands behind his back, looking at the scene inside, calmly saying, "One-way glass. We can see him, he can't see us."
Trinity couldn't quite believe it, "You're monitoring my father?"
Elbert hummed in agreement.
Trinity's brow furrowed.
Elbert turned his head, "Not only that, I've also extracted 70% of the water from his body, plus the high temperature in this room - the effect is about the same as being trapped in the desert for 14 days. He probably doesn't even have the strength to open his eyes."
Trinity grew angry, "Why are you doing this?"
Elbert suddenly said quietly, "Have you ever thought that he might be the same type of person as the Moon Priest? That he controlled all the plans, including the raid on my father's lab?"
Trinity suddenly froze.
It took her a while to react, "That's impossible!"
"My father has been bedridden for eight years, never left the ground floor. His only habit is meditating with his eyes closed, to cultivate a peaceful mind!"
Elbert said calmly, "What about your mother?"
Trinity's expression changed, saying heavily, "She died six years ago. She was strangled to death by a burglar. I... joined the FIC because I wanted to find that killer."
Elbert sighed, "No need to look anymore. The killer is right in front of you."
"What?"
Trinity's eyes widened as she instantly understood the horrifying meaning in Elbert's words.
Elbert said in a low voice, "Your mother probably discovered his identity, so..."
Trinity's body trembled slightly, "This can't be..."
Elbert raised his head slightly, "Gino followed Fabio back to your mansion to search for information. In a basement, they found over a dozen charred Skull remains, all young women..."
"Fabio confessed that this basement was exclusively used by your father."
Elbert glanced at Trinity, "Ancient Pompeii was a famously debauched city, and the Moon Priests and Sun Priests there were especially licentious."
Trinity's eyes lost focus, "Impossible, this is impossible! Father's illness is a variant of spinal cord inflammation, his entire body can't move!"
Elbert shook his head, "Stay here and observe for a moment. Your completely paralyzed father will soon get up."
Elbert turned to leave, but turned back, saying somewhat heavily, "Prepare yourself mentally."
Trinity remained in place, her eyes moist, feeling her hands and feet go cold.
She glanced at Elbert's back, knowing in her heart that he had extraordinary means and could find out almost any truth...
But the person lying inside was her own father!
Trinity gritted her teeth and made a decision.
10 minutes!
She would only wait 10 minutes. If her father was still this weak and suffering.
Then she would rush into the room and take her father away.
Never associate with Elbert again!
Elbert's mood was also somewhat heavy at this moment.
He hoped in his heart that Trinity could be strong and face the truth.
Elbert came to the transformation center on the island.
Briana, wearing a white lab coat and black-framed glasses, was holding a thick notebook, constantly moving between various equipment, continuously recording.
In the center of the area.
20 transformation chambers stood quietly.
On one side of the area, 11 holographic projections blazed with light.
11 virtual cubes emitted gorgeous and mysterious blue light.
These were the unique transformation technology that Elbert had developed during his time as a modified human - the God Cube.
Because this cube needed to match humanity's gene database of hundreds of millions, finding the optimal choices to create the strongest modified humans.
So the cube's calculations were an enormous workload.
When they had transformed Punisher before, they had only completed calculations up to the 5th level cube.
Everyone had only received transformations from 3rd to 5th level cubes.
But this still allowed people to gain the advantages of up to 180 types of top genes.
Thus creating F-level modified humans like Quentin, and G-level modified humans like Summer!
Now.
Three more months had passed, and Robert's calculation work had never stopped.
The 11th level cube calculation was now complete!
If someone could be transformed by it, their genetic advantages would increase geometrically, able to merge the advantages of 12,000 types of human genes!
Although these were just combinations of small advantages.
Worlds apart from Elbert's new human system.
But.
No one could predict what level of modified human would be created!
