Chapter 28

Alex POV

The moment that they saw each other I just knew. Patrick stood there frozen and Mikal began to cry.

Her tears started to roll down her cheeks as she slowly kneeled down on the floor and held her fist near her heart.

These two unperfected people were meant to be together and they knew that. they also seemed to know that they weren’t exactly perfect. I looked at Mikal who just shook there crying on the floor.

Maybe it had finally hit her. the guilt, for leading her life the way she did. The moment that she began to scream I walked out of her room. I couldn’t bear to see a person like that. Maybe she wasn’t my favorite person to be around with but she was still a girl with a heart.

maybe her heart was a bit black and rotten but there was still that little piece that still felt emotions the way a normal person did. her tears were proof.

Now I lay on my bed as I stare at the ceiling and play over the last scene I had seen before I came here and that was seeing Patrick stand in front of the door as he stood there frozen, just staring as his mate cried.

why didn’t he run to her?

I don’t know. maybe he also felt guilty for being a rogue and for bringing more pain to his future partner before they even got together.

Explaining to her how many horrible things he did during his rogue days must be the most hardest thing he could ever do.

I know that it would be the hardest thing I could ever do.

I sigh silently as I slowly sit up on the bed and try to stand but suddenly I’m shaking. or so I thought.

the bed jumps and so does everything else in the room and I realize that it's not just me who lost her balance.

the room itself moved so I’m sure I’m not crazy.

I quickly get up from the floor and walk fast towards the door.

once I’m out it all processes through my mind. if the whole floor is moving like this something must be going on. I try to run towards the castle main entrance room but I’m pulled by Patrick who pulls my arm and takes me deeper into the castle.

He walks fast not letting anything stop him.

"what the hell is going on?" I ask shouting.

when we finally make it to our destination he pushes me inside of a room and he looks at me straight in the eyes. his gaze doesn’t falter, as if he has found some sort of new strength.

"you saved my sister and my mate. Thank you. this is unfortunately the only way I can pay you back"

"n-no wait!" I shout as I run towards the doors but its too late. he has already closed them shut and locked them from the outside.

"what the hell?!"
