Blaises POV

after that big surprise given to us by Matthew and his family they left taking his brother with him in shame.

not only had he lost everything but also had his brother. all because they made the wrong decisions.

I have to admit I was proud of Alex for letting them go. she gave them a second chance to change their lives and live in a better way. it's just up to them from here on out whether they listen to her and change or not.

"Blaise" Belenus calls out to me as he walks over to stand besides me. "I have told everyone in the whole kingdom about the new law changes and just as you all suspected, people were angry."

I look at him in concern now, not knowing what to do next. 

he laughs as he pats my back "don’t worry child, after I showed them the photos the old king had of his victims many changed their minds."

I sigh as he laughs to himself "that's the power of the internet these days. you can just send things in seconds, amazing don’t you think?"

I look at him and wonder how in the world is this man able to smile at a moment like this? "Thank you"

he looks at me and then at the hallway "that mate of yours"

I look over at him now "what about Alex?"

"I’ve met her before." he says as he leans on his cane "she was different back then. her wolf was the definition of ruthless but it seems her little friend has gotten a bit soft."

"when exactly did you meet her?" I ask looking at him in curiosity.

he smiles as he gives me a small push "you should have seen her. she was practically the same, attitude wise I mean. she was around ten years old when I met her." he looks over at a wall as if he were imagining something "she knew too many things for a child her age."

he looks over at me and smiles "did you realize that falling in love with her was like falling into a pit of lava?"

I look at him and smile "that's what attracted me to her, that fire that she has. it warms me"

"you two have the most weirdest relationship it makes me wonder how long you'll last." he states as he begins to leave.

Alex's POV

its been a day since we announced the changes and it been silent. it worries me because knowing people in general, there is always that one retard who doesn’t like change and strikes. 

apparently this retard is a smart retard though... which is bad.

I pace around the main hall of the castle by where the main door is at waiting for any news when I hear some screaming in the entrance of the castles gates. 'here it comes'

I quickly open the main door and run towards the guards that are pulling back a girl with bruises and cuts all over her body.

"mikal?" I ask in disbelief as I see her crying.

"Alex I’m sorry for what I did but please go and help them! please I might not be his mate but I still love him like a brother! please!" 

she crawls until shes holding my knee. "wait I don’t understand, what happened?" I look at her worried as I slowly pull her up. 

"there was suddenly an attack on the moonlight shadow pack. Dylan, he’s in trouble. I ran as fast as I could to get here but by the time the criminals had escaped the jails many were already dead in the forest." she looks up at me and when I look at her eyes I see what I was worried about seeing this whole time. I see truth in her eyes.

Truth...and honesty.
