Epilogue

At Wang Lee and Sons Tower, a brilliant light flashes from the center stage, emitting a kaleidoscopic beam on the ostentatious pavilion. Near the ceiling are two lovely white doves freely playing around inside the huge, meticulously hung heart-shaped cage. Their silky ivory feathers glint each time the flash of light hits them. Men and women in tailored suits and evening gowns begin to occupy the reserved seats, and as the announcer’s voice echoes in the air, the spotlight focuses on the doorway where the lady in a scarlet bridal gown enters. On her right proudly stands the most important man in the conglomerate, and on her left is the second most elegantly dressed woman that evening.

After paying a quick glance to everybody around, Mikaella Lee Wang, along with Peter and Carina Wang, starts walking slowly down the aisle as s precious smile plasters on her lips. The world stops and time slows for Michael Amoroso, who is meters away. He had been standing near the improvised altar, and the waiting prolonged his agony at keeping himself from running towards Mikaella Lee to wrap her in his warm embrace.

On the first pew, Peter Wang slips his hand under his eyeglasses and secretly wipes the teardrops that accumulated there during the processional march. As Carina holds her husband’s hands, she feels the beads of sweat starting to accumulate on his palm. She knows what Peter Wang hides in his heart.

As the orchestra plays To Have and To Hold, Michael extends his hand towards his bride, and together they face the crowd. The whole pavilion is filled with a thunderous clap when the newlywed couple officially seals their matrimony with a kiss.
