Chapter 213 My Angel | Epilogue 2❤️❤️❤️
AZREN
Talon and Tyrone are sitting there. My fourteen-year-old chaos engines. Their sleeves are rolled up, a smirk on their identical faces.
And on their arms are fresh ink. Full-sleeve tattoos.
I blink twice.
"...what," I say slowly, "am I looking at?"
They exchange a glance.
"We wanted to express ourselves," Talon says. His voice always has a slight rasp.
"Artistically," Tyrone adds.
My eye twitches.
"...artistically," I repeat.
"Yes."
"With permanent ink."
"...yes."
I inch closer.
"...tell me," I say, my voice low, "that those are fake."
They hesitate.
"...you did not," I breathe.
"...okay—so—" Talon starts.
"No," I cut in. "No, no—don't 'okay so' me—"
"It's not that bad—"
"NOT THAT BAD?!" I snap. "You're fourteen!"
"We did research—"
"I DON'T CARE—"
I drag a hand through my hair. I can feel a bigger headache forming. A violent one.
"...your mother is going to kill me," I mutter.
"Why you?" one of them asks.
"Because I allowed you to exist," I shoot back.
"Biology says that's her too—"
"NOT NOW."
I grab Talon's arm, inspecting it. The lines. The shading. The—
...wait.
I squint.
"...this line is crooked."
They freeze.
"...what?" Tyrone says.
"This," I point, "is uneven."
"...no it's not."
"It is."
"...it's abstract."
"It's wrong."
"...you're focusing on the wrong issue," Talon says carefully.
"No," I say flatly. "I'm focusing on the fact that if you were going to ruin your bodies, you could've at least chosen a better artist."
They stare at me. Then, they burst into laughter. Full-on, wheezing, can't-breathe laughter.
"...wow," Tyrone gasps.
"He's actually mad about the line—"
"Not the tattoo—"
"THE LINE—"
I go still.
"...what did you do?"
Talon wipes his eyes.
"...it's fake."
I blink.
"...what?"
"Washable ink," the other one grins, rolling up his sleeve further. "Took us three hours."
"...you—"
"We wanted to see your reaction."
"...get out."
They don't move.
"...now!”
They bolt and I stand there for a while, re-evaluating my entire life. My parenting choices. My bloodline.
"...I'm done," I whisper.
"...done with what?" Noelle's voice comes up behind me.
She's leaning against the doorway, smiling like she just witnessed the greatest show on earth.
I turn to her slowly.
"...I'm getting a vasectomy."
She laughs hard.
"Azren!"
"I'm serious."
"You are not."
"I am," I insist. "Six is enough. Six is more than enough. Six is a war crime."
She walks over, still laughing, wrapping her arms around me.
"You said you wanted a whole football team," she reminds me.
"That was before they developed personalities."
She snorts.
"They're just like you," she says, pressing her cheek to my chest.
"That's exactly the problem."
She tilts her head up, smiling softly.
"You love it."
How can I say no to my beautiful wife? Besides, she's actually...right. Some sick part of me actually enjoys the chaos. There is indeed no rest for the wicked.
"We made them together. And yes, I do...love it."
Her eyes are bright with laughter.
I slide one hand to the small of her back and pull her flush against me, the other hand cupping the back of her neck as I lean down and kiss her.
It starts slow.
But Noelle makes that soft little sound in the back of her throat, and the carefulness evaporates.
She rises onto her toes, her fingers threading into my hair, tugging just hard enough to tilt my head exactly how she wants it.
The kiss deepens instantly, turning hot and messy.
I back her up until her shoulders hit the wall beside the twins' door, my body pressing into hers, one thigh slipping between her legs without thinking.
"Azren..." she breathes when I finally let her have air, but I don't give her much. I kiss her again, harder, tasting the lingering sweetness of whatever she'd been drinking earlier.
My hand slips under the hem of her shirt, my palm flattening against warm skin, my thumb brushing the edge of her ribs.
She arches into the touch, letting out a gasp. The sound shoots straight through me.
I break the kiss just enough to trail my mouth along her jaw, then down to that spot on her neck that always makes her shiver.
I suck lightly, then soothe it with my tongue, and she lets out a breathy moan that has me pressing closer, my hips rolling against her instinctively.
"Fuck," I mutter against her skin. "I missed this."
She laughs. "We had sex in my office three days ago."
"Three days is too long when you're married to a goddess."
One of her legs hooks around my hip, pulling me in tighter. My hand slides higher under her shirt, cupping her breast through her bra, my thumb circling until I feel her nipple tighten under the fabric.
"Azren..." she whispers again, but this time it's not a warning. It's needier.
I kiss her mouth again, our tongues tangling while my hips grind slowly against her. She's rocking back against me now, chasing the friction, her breathing ragged between kisses.
We're seconds away from me shoving her skirt up and forgetting every single reason why this is a terrible idea when Noelle suddenly pulls back just enough to speak, her lips swollen and glossy.
"Wait—wait," she pants, her cheeks flushed. "Not here."
I rest my forehead against hers, trying to catch my breath. My heart is hammering. Every part of me is screaming to keep going.
She swallows, then smiles that wicked little smile I love.
"Let's go upstairs," she whispers.
Fucking yes.
