Chapter 162
*JAMES SMITH POV*
I saw the car leave the asphalt and go directly towards a large tree, I felt my heart beat slowly as I saw the vehicle collide with all its force. Alisson braked the car violently and we went down until we approached her. The car window was closed, so I forced it open, regardless of the condition of my arm. Adrenaline coursed through my body, I wanted to touch her and help her, but I couldn't, it wasn't right.
“Beautiful, open your eyes.” Thick tears fell from my eyes.
Her head was leaning against the seat, I saw that she was wearing a belt, unlike her mother. Alisson was crying desolately, she approached and tried to revive her friend, but I restrained her. Kevin's car stopped and he came to meet us, the soldiers right behind called an ambulance. Alisson hugged her husband and cried openly.
“It’s my fault, Kevin!”
“It’s not your fault, my beauty.”
I heard her coughing and murmuring in pain, I approached her without touching her, and I started talking to her to keep her awake.
“James...” He spoke with difficulty.
"Beautiful my love. Are you feeling anything?”
“I don’t know, the baby...”
“Don’t move, the ambulance is on the way.”
“Patricia, how is she?” I looked at the poor thing and asked Kevin to check if she was still alive, he analyzed it and confirmed it, and I replied to her. “Don’t let her die, she has things I need, you know.”
“Stop talking my love, you’re tired.”
“What if the baby is not alive? I can’t handle it.”
“The baby is fine, think that he is quiet because he knows she is hurt...”
“What are we going to do?”
“From here you will go to the hospital, in a few months you will have our boy and we will get married.”
"Let's get married?" She smiled tiredly.
“You will be the most beautiful bride, Alisson will be your godmother.”
“Alisson, where is she?”
"I'm here baby."
At that moment help arrived and we gave way to get them out of the car, we quickly got into the car and headed to the hospital. The great doctors attended to my wife and took her inside quickly, Alisson and Kevin stayed at the reception next to me, anxious and worried about receiving information, we were crazy and stunned until a doctor informed us that Debbie had undergone a small surgery on her ribs without that would compromise my son's life, he had not suffered any injuries.
I sighed with relief at the news, I also asked about Patricia, not that I mind, but Debbie has certain interests to discuss with her, which I still don't know what they are about.
“His spine was compromised and that’s why he’s paralyzed.
“What a fatality...” Kevin mocked. "Let's have dinner? I’m hungry from all this mess.”
"No!" Alisson protested. “We need to see Debbie, when will she be sent to her room?”
“As soon as they close her, she has lost a lot of blood and is weak.”
“Did she lose a lot of blood?”
“Her arm had a deep cut, but clean, it didn’t compromise any veins.”
"Thank God!"
“As soon as she is transferred to her room, I will come and inform you.”
The doctor walked away and the three of us were alone in the waiting room, we sat in absolute silence until Alisson broke it.
“Why did they bring Debbie’s mother to the hospital?”
“Because it looks like Debbie has unfinished business with her,” I replied.
“Did she tell you that?” I nodded. "What can it be?"
"I have no idea."
“I can’t take any more hospitals, I’ll only come back here when I die,” Kevin muttered.
“Or when I have another child...”
"What? You are pregnant?"
"No! But it can happen, that’s all...”
“No, while we’re here, let’s take your blood, I don’t want anyone passing out in the house.” Kevin got up and started dragging his wife to take blood and resolve his doubts, for a moment he smiled at that.
