Chapter 26 Chapter 26
Fiel turned to the side and immediately drew the dagger on his waist. Ryuk had given it to him as a gift when he was still training. It was only a few inches longer than usual, but its sharpness was guaranteed, making it one of his favorites.
When he looked at Aurora, she was already holding her sword. She was far from the doctor he knew, and he couldn't help but smile.
"I told you something was off! I won our bet. So, you have to take me on a date to France."
He winked at the doctor to show he understood. Aurora wanted to convey that she wasn't scared, and she wanted Fiel to respect her abilities. She was strong and capable, and she would prove it to him tonight.
The doctor smiled in response, indicating he understood what Aurora was trying to convey.
"Sssssshhhh!"
They both prepared when they heard the snake's sound again. The loudness of its voice meant it wasn't just a small snake. They confirmed this when they saw the snake—a massive one!
It was approaching them, so they teleported to the top of a large stone pillar.
"I'll handle the snake, Aurora. You go get the sword."
Aurora glanced at the snake again. Its color was a mix of gray and sunset hues. It was longer than a coconut tree. She couldn't believe she was seeing a snake that big. It was three times bigger than the snake woman she had met.
"When you get the sword, we'll leave this place immediately," Fiel told her.
She nodded and then shook her head to relax.
She ran towards the sword's direction. Teleporting wasn't advisable in this place because they didn't know what was waiting for them where they would land.
Fiel, on the other hand, focused on the snake, which was furiously approaching him.
Aurora thought everything would be easy, but when she reached the sword's location, she realized it was stuck in a massive stone embedded in the ground, so she couldn't pull it out immediately.
She tried to kick the stone, but she couldn't even scratch it.
She was about to try kicking it harder when she saw Fiel being wrapped by the snake's tail.
Seriously, Fiel?!
He tried to break free, but the serpent's grip was too tight. The snake was throwing Fiel around while still wrapped around his body.
The serpent repeated this torture on Fiel, making Aurora feel like the ground was shaking. The wolf inside her was angry because she knew Fiel was suffering.
Fiel was near the snake's tail, and just as he was about to...
He saw a man lying and bleeding not far from where he was, which distracted the snake.
Things happened fast, and before he knew it, the snake's tail was wrapped around his body, squeezing him.
He didn't know what was happening, but he was slowly losing strength. He tried to break free, but the snake's grip only tightened, and with each movement, he grew weaker. He was helpless as he was tossed around the cave like a rag doll, repeatedly and mercilessly.
He saw Aurora approaching them. He didn't want her to come closer, but no sound came out of his mouth.
He was amazed when he saw Aurora. She was slowly transforming! Her body grew bigger and more muscular than usual. She became hairy and vigorous. But what caught his attention was her golden eyes shining brightly even in the darkness of the place. She looked beautiful despite being a wolf.
"Not even touching her is allowed, so why do you need to hurt her!" A warm, invisible hand touched his heart because of what Aurora said.
Aurora knew Fiel was looking at her, but that wasn't important now. She needed to save him.
She ran towards the snake and jumped. She teleported to the snake's stomach and stabbed it with her dagger. She wounded it, but she knew it wasn't enough.
The snake released Fiel, and he rolled to the ground. Aurora teleported to Fiel and grabbed him immediately.
"Are you okay?"
"I got a little hurt, sorry. I became a burden. But I'm fine." Fiel smiled, reassuring her.
"This dagger is sharp, right? I'll borrow it because I don't want to stay here any longer. Don't move, just trust me."
After saying that, she turned her back on him. She was annoyed by the snake's noise.
When the snake turned towards them, Aurora was ready with the sword. It crawled quickly towards them. She didn't want to become the snake's dinner, so she needed to kill it before it attacked.
When the snake was just a few feet away, Aurora met it and thrust the sword into its stomach. She used all her strength to bury the sword deep, then twisted it to make the wound bigger, and finally cut the snake in half. She wasn't satisfied yet, so she beheaded the poor snake.
When she turned to Fiel, he was just shaking his head, but his eyes showed admiration. She raised an eyebrow at him.
