Chapter 104

Chapter 104
Josh
He kept his scowl on his face as he watched her stumble back with her hand pressed against her heart. She stared up at him with tears pouring down her face.
“Why?” she whispered. “I thought you loved me.”
He rolled his eyes while Apollo flapped his wings in his head agitatedly.
“Just like you, I’m a great liar.”
He turned to Marybell again before walking towards her as Apollo tried to stop him.
‘Stop! Don’t do this to her. We can figure another way out.’
‘No! Stop it.’
He kept Amerald in his peripherals as he neared the front row with his eyes on a furious Marybell. He passed Amerald’s chair and was yanked back, thrown several feet. He rolled and jumped to his feet as a deadly saber tooth tiger approached him with saliva dripping off his bared teeth. He smirked at the angry cat.
“You should be thankful. It was you that showed me she wasn’t worth anything,” he told him, making Apollo thrash harder.
Saber lunged at him and Josh twirled, narrowly avoiding his snapping teeth. Josh bounced lightly on his heels, preparing for what he would do when he pulled the ace card.
“Maybe the Goddess will grant her another mate. All she is good for is a lay, isn’t that right? The way she makes you feel like you’re the only one. The way she sounds when you have her legs in the air.” He stopped to let out an aroused growl. “Feels so good. Tight little-”
Saber lunged at him and Josh let him take him to the ground. They rolled a few feet, stopping when they hit a tree with Saber on top. Josh thrust his hands up to stop Saber from biting down into his throat. He wrapped his legs around the cat and threw him off. He leaped to his feet.
“Why are you so mad? Thought you would be happy. Now you can have her. You know what they say about one man’s trash,” he taunted the tiger.
Saber lunged for him again and Josh dove out of the way at the last second, making Saber crash through the tree. He roared as he shook trunk splinters out of his fur. Josh glanced at Lucy who was being held upright by her mother and Sasha. Saber used his lapse of focus to tackle him to the ground, his long fangs piercing Josh’s shoulder. Apollo surged forward to toss Saber over their head again before scrambling to his feet again as his scales covered Josh’s body. He licked his lips before shifting his weight again.
“You’re just as pathetic as she is. You truly belong together,” he scoffed. “You’re nothing and so is she!”
Saber slowly stalked him with his body vibrating from anger as much as his growls. He saw the shift in Saber’s eyes as Amerald fought for control, making Josh celebrate his small win. Just a little more and he would have Amerald right where he wanted him.
“I wish I had never taken her back. She has been one big useless mess since I did.” He let his eyes move over Marybell, almost gagging at the disgust that filled him. “Now, that is a woman I could give everything to. She’s nothing like Lucy.”
Saber jumped at him and Josh held his place as Saber shifted midair, so that Amerald slammed him against the tree behind him.
“SHE IS EVERYTHING!” he yelled. “YOU SORRY PIECE OF SHIT! LUCY IS THE ONLY WOMAN WHO IS WORTH ANYTHING! YOU HAD EVERYTHING THAT MEANT ANYTHING TO ME AND YOU FUCKING WANT TO THROW AWAY MY FAMILY?”
He threw Josh a few feet, following him as he rolled. Amerald’s foot came down on Josh’s chest and he groaned as ribs broke. He swiped his leg under Amerald, taking his legs out. Josh quickly pinned Amerald to the ground with his hand around his throat before tearing his dress shirt open. His hand slowly turned into talons as Amerald struggled beneath him trying to dislodge Josh. He held his hand up.
“You say she’s worth it, prove it.”
Before Amerald could move, Josh dragged his talons down his face and chest, leaving deep gashes in his skin. He leaned down to expel fire over his injuries, before letting his throat go.
“What’s it going to be, Amerald? If you walk away from her now, you break the bond. Both of them. Let her be enough. You say she is. I accept you as a mate. Stop using me as an excuse to keep hurting her. Love her with me, not from afar.”
Amerald glared at him as he fell still. “Get off of me.”
“Make your choice, right here, right now!”
Amerald wrapped his legs around Josh’s waist and threw his weight to the left, rolling them. He punched Josh in the face before grabbing his throat. He yanked Josh up and shoved his teeth into his throat. Josh groaned as the link between the two of them snapped into place. Amerald let him fall back to the ground as he got up. He kicked him in the leg.
“You’re still an asshole.”
“And you took your sweet ass time!”
Josh held his hand up and Amerald pulled him to his feet. “Dick.”
“Pussy!”
“Ummm… can someone please tell me what is going on?” Lucy whimpered.
Josh rushed past Amerald to Lucy. he took her in his arms. “I am so sorry, Lucy. I didn’t know what else to do. He wouldn’t listen to reason or you asking him. It was either this or having Aunt Sasha aura him.”
She looked up at him, tears glistening in her eyes. “So, you’re not rejecting me?”
He kissed her softly. “No. You’re mine and I love you.” He held out his hand to Amerald who hesitantly walked over. “Ours. And now you are stuck with us both.”
She glanced shyly at Amerald. “Are you really going to stay?”
He nodded. “I’m sorry, too, Lucy. I was a fool.”
She wrapped her arms around both of their necks, pulling them close to her. “I… can we finish so we can go be alone? I need to be with you two.”
Amerald moved behind her with his arm around her waist as Josh took his place a foot from her. He took her hand and after placing a small kiss on each of her fingers, put it back over his heart. He cupped her face as he looked into her eyes.
“I was yours when I was nothing more than a lowly omega. I was yours from the moment I realized you were my mate at 3 years old. I will be yours until the day I die. I will be by your side through everything. Our children growing up, your reign, every breath you take, I will be loving you. I will protect you, I will be your healer, I will be everything you need.” He took one of Amerald’s hands and placed it over Lucy’s on his chest. Amerald curled his fingers around hers. “I accept your second mate as a part of us. I will protect him, heal him and be everything he needs, too. Most people were broken into two at their creation but not us. We were broken into three. You will never be asked to choose again. This is right. This was always our destiny. I love you, Lucy. From then, to now and every day I have left.”
“I love you, too, Josh.” He leaned forward to kiss her. When he pulled back, she turned her head to look into Amerald’s eyes. “I love you, too.”
He kissed her, too, his nails lightly scratched Josh’s chest.
“I hope you were not expecting a kiss, too, dickhead.”
Josh took a step back and everyone laughed.
“No!”
“Good,” he said, scooping Lucy up. “Let’s go. We have a lot to talk about.”
“Yeah, talk,” Amaris teased, earning a growl from Lukas.
“Watch it! That is still my daughter.”
She bit into Josh’s shoulder as she was carried toward the castle. “I will forgive you this time for what you said because I know why you said it now, but you still have a lot of sucking up to do.”
He smiled as he took her hand. “Every day for the rest of my life. I promise.”
“So, since apparently they don’t need to be introduced, feel free to move to the arena where the reception will be held,” Aiden called out behind them.
Lucy giggled as she snuggled into Amerald’s naked chest. “We ruined the wedding.”
Josh kissed her hand. “But saved our bonds. That was always the goal.”
