When we got to our house the staff was actually standing outside waiting for us. Johnny and I took on all my father’s staff because he didn’t need them anymore, so the people who raised me was now working for me, which was weird. “Mrs. Helen everyone greeted me.” The butler came to Johnny to tell him the doctor has arrived and he was waiting for me in the living room. “Thanks Rudi.” Johnny said. When we walked into the living room the doctor was so happy to see us. “Helen Johnny so good to see you again, this time under better circumstances.” “Hi doctor.” Both Johnny and I said. “You want to get something to drink before I examine you.” He asked me. “I won’t be able to keep it down; can we just go to the room then you can examine me.” “Lead the way.” Johnny wanted to come with but I told him to get everyone settled and my father was also on his way with a woman he met on the boat, it was nothing serious they were just friends. My father deserved happiness so it didn’t bother me in the slightest.
When we got to the room he took my blood pressure; my temperature checks my oxygen levels he did everything. “You look a bit dehydrated which is not good.” “I can’t keep anything down.” “When last was your period?” I had to think about that, with the organizing of the wedding and me trying not to think about getting pregnant I lost track. “Probable 2 months ago.” “Did you do a pregnancy test yet?” I looked at him in shock “No because every time I do it’s negative and then I’m depressed I’m not thinking about that at the moment.” “But you guys are trying?” “Yes, we are.” He took out a pregnancy test and told me to go and pee on the stick. I really didn’t want to I didn’t want to spoil my wedding weekend by being upset because of the results but I also know he can’t give me any medication if we didn’t do a test first. I peed on the stick and went out and gave it back to the doctor. “You didn’t wait to see the results.” “No Johnny and I have been waiting around those sticks every month and every month it’s negative so no I’m not.” The doctor looked at me and then at the stick then he turned it around and I wanted to scream the stick said positive. “You my dear are pregnant.” “How sure are you?” I asked the doctor “99.99% but I can do a blood test and that will tell us for sure.” “Okay but can we keep it a secret I want to surprise Johnny.” “Yes, off course. For know I’m going to give you something for the nauseous and you have to eat something and keep it down Helen.” “Oh, I will doctor I promise I will. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. I won’t let anything happen to our baby.” “Okay let me draw some blood and I will give you the news before you walk down the aisle tomorrow.” “Thank you so much doctor.” I smiled from ear to ear. The doctor looked at me and said “If you want to keep it a secret you have to get that smile of your face.” “I’ll try my best.” The doctor gave me an injection and said I should lay for a few minutes let the meds kick in so to speak. “I’ll see myself out don’t worry.” “Thank you doctor.”
The doctor was probable gone for 10 minutes when Johnny walked in. “What did the doctor say?” “He gave me something for the nausea and said I should lay down for a bit until the meds kick in. Other than that, he draw some blood to test for a virus.” I didn’t know what to say, I wanted to keep it as a surprise. Johnny came to lay down with me he looked me in the eyes “You already look a bit better must be very good meds.” “I think it is.” He held me and we laid there for 30 minutes before we heard someone at the door, which was probably my father and his girlfriend. We got up I pulled a brush through my hair and walked hand and hand down the stairs. I could see my dad and a blond women standing next to him. When she turned, I was actually relieved she wasn’t my age she was closer to my father’s age. “Helen angel come and meet Eva.” I walked towards Eva “So nice to meet you, Eva.” “And you Helen your father has told me a lot about you.” “All good I hope.” “Yes, off course” “Eva, I want you to meet my husband, Johnny.” “Johnny I’ve heard just as much about you.” “Dad” I told him. “What I’m proud of the two of you I can’t help that I want to talk about you.” “Fair point.” Johnny said breaking the ice.
“Let’s go to the dinning room.” We went to the dinning room where chef has packed out a selection of bread, cheese, meats, wine and juice. I went for the juice option. “No wine for you babe?” “No Johnny not feeling ready for that.” “I’m just glad you are eating and drinking something.” I wasn’t going to tell him it was doctors orders and that I was pregnant and I would do anything on this planet to keep this baby safe, even if it makes me sick. I took a piece of bread, meat and cheese. We all sat around the table dad telling us all about the trip and how he met Eva. They also told us how many young men and women there where and how they tried to get a sugar mommy or daddy, that was why they teamed up they were done with the young kids trying to get into bed with them. My father might have teased me that he was going to get a young chick but Eva was definitely not as young as I thought he would go. My phone rang showing it was Jennifer. “Excuse me for a minute.” I told everyone around the table. “Hi Jenn how are you?” I asked as I answered “I’m good how are you feeling?” “Sick the whole way here but I had a doctor here already and am feeling much better than earlier.” I was lying through my teeth but I had to. “I just wanted to ask if you needed any help tomorrow?” “Oh yes please if you don’t mind?” I didn’t have any other friends just Jennifer and she live in Vegas. “I’ll leave Jenny with Romeo then I’ll come and help you.” “Thank you so much Jenn see you tomorrow.” As soon as I put the phone down, I could feel I had to run to the bathroom again. I ran to the furthest one I didn’t want Johnny hearing me vomiting not now I don’t know how long I’ll be able to keep the secret.
