Chapter 73

“In all those hardships.

I found my strength.”

They took him and dragged him towards the police car when he quietly proceeded with them as they caught his hands once again between those metal handcuffs when after reaching the court, they pulled him out harshly whereas, without even uttering any word that Marquis was following every of their action while he was building up words to face the situation inside his mind.

“Honest and be true.” With his head low that he breathed hard and repeated those words again and again, that provided him courage to see the sun today.

Today was being the day when they will be taking the final decision of his life. An act of trueness, honesty and loyalty that he will going to pull up soon.

Marquis stood in front of them all yet right in the center of the area as after seeing him standing above the surface of the court, the people present over there, faced tension and fear already as he was being the mere person that they knew already, who couldn't be innocent enough or more in their eyes, fool enough to sand up their sights like that. They all knew about him already that he must be planning something inside his mastermind as he owned a mind which could built thousands of plans and make them work at once. Which could play an act of peace and will fire up the bullets at the same time. A mind with terrible troubles to make but certainly a mind with heavenly positive ideas too, when he chose the other option of staying positive as he simply thought about no more running away and decided to face it or die right here. Louis was nowhere to be found around him as he went for a work to do when Marquis was being all by himself.

“Marquis Lunard, 22. A wide range of crimes to be done but mostly girl smuggling. Kidnapping them and raping them afterwards. A man with a thoughtful mind and pretty much filthy yet dirty intentions to be owned, 24/7. Working partners; Ryu and Nial.” The Judge who held the file of the criminal along with the whole record, announced in front of the big audience to be owned by the place currently, when Marquis stood silently among them all yet in the high court, surrounded by the gazes that burnt his skull. Those ruthless comments that held disrespect for him, were thrown at him like pebbles and stones at the moment and he inhaled them all with no pain as he knew already that he'll be facing such situations, when the poor soul was having his emotional eyes covered by those black hair that completely hid his orbs underneath them.

“Your honor, he has done so wrong. He shouldn't be forgiven at all. All those innocent women and girls that he gulped in? They cannot come back now.” The opposite lawyer started talking as the case opened, when he made sure that every word must sound like a sting to rip off another person as his tone was harsh.

“But he's surrendering now. He accepted his mistake. Your honor, can you even expect it from him? Criminals like him are flying in the city like fireflies that can't be trapped. But him, he just lost it and presented himself.” Frank spoke right away when he was focusing upon the words to support and defense his victim.

“What if he's holding a plan inside his mind? What if this all is being a trap?” The other lawyer pushed it greatly.

“Well if he had? Something might would happen right now but we're safe. Your honor, what could be better than this, that he would be a great example for the others?” Frank tried really hard while he was forcing at building the foundation.

“Well, who knows? He could be acting like an innocent shit right now and later starts doing the same thing? Then, we won't be able to catch him since he'll simply be slipping off.” The other opposite lawyer played even more powerful move.

The lawyers are meant to make the lie look beautiful in a manner or a way that it should be presented well in front of the people to make them believe it. They have the audacity to turn a dirty lie into a truth as a fact and convert a beautiful truth into a lie to be never believed on and that's the actual thing that they're practically paid for.

The judge heard and focused the words that were conveyed by both of the lawyers while his eyes were fixed upon the figure who was standing in between them and there, his sight captured a dull, shoulder dropped male who wasn't even arguing for the right.

The fact was simple as Marquis was afraid to face the world when since his childhood, his self-esteem was buried under his intentions. Though, he was powerful enough while owning a muscular physique and a mind who could blow other minds but still that, there was being this lack of true happiness inside himself that the world has never witnessed. He was scared and afraid to speak in front of them for a reason when he was afraid just for one mere thing that he only owned bad yet disrespectful vocabulary which will make things worse if he even opened his mouth. He was afraid that people won't accept him and doubt him. Just like his mother did.

“I'm changed, mom. You never believed me nor my power. Yenail did. She believed me. She loved me. Silently. She was being so much worried about me. She truly cared for me. Her colors are much more beautiful. I was being too dumb to notice that thing. Mom, you were being bad and I don't really care if you're still living or dead. I just don't.” Those words roamed inside Marquis’s mind when his head was screaming but he could not let them out as he really wished to see the most precious person in his life, sooner or later.

“Young man, what would you like to say in your explanation?” The judge asked for his explanation as he eyed Marquis from a big distance while being seated on his seat when Marquis furiously ascended his head along with wide eyes right after he heard the words of the judge.

At first, Marquis faced terrible heartbeat rates as his heart raced faster than ever while he was thinking at compelling the words that would cope up with the situation at the moment and while doing that thing, he was being nervous, extremely nervous, right after knowing that the judge needed his words. Louis wasn't there. His love wasn't there. He was terribly afraid. What if he misspoke a word and everything comes right at the place from where it all started and his efforts goes in vain? What if he made a big mistake while conveying his words and it all turns upside down? While Marquis was thinking about all of these things, his hands started shaking so badly. His other side was only to be seen by her when only she knew that when he's afraid? He's in need for a hug from her side, which eventually tells him that everything will going to be okay though it’s a disaster. With her, he'll always be fine.

The judge summoned Marquis’s name once again gaining his attention but he already seemed too lost in his own inside world which was also shaking by now.

“Speak!! Or your silence will make them think that you're defeated already.” Frank loud whispered after leaning towards Marquis’s side while Marquis was facing extreme breathing after he does a hard gulp.

His eyes which were glued towards the ground, were shaking when he breathed hard as later that Marquis started panting when it looked like as if he was about to blow up as the sweat covered his forehead, making his hair damp in it so early. He needed her. He needed her at the moment.

The two thuds of the judge's hammer filled the area when he shook his head in disbelief and uttered while shuffling some papers in his hands. “Since he's not answering. I come up with a decision that—” But he was soon cut off.

The people were smiling already as they all were expecting a mere decision for the criminal's process of hanging him up but surely that the cruel world didn't know about those powerful prayers that were shielding him, when another manly voice soon filled the ears of every single person present in there.

“No! Wait! I'll explain everything.” Marquis suddenly spoke up when he breathed in and exhaled out, stiffening up with a stern look that decorated his face when his eyes were being fierce once again. “Be with me, Yenail. I need you.” He thought after closing his eyes for few moments.

“I'm with you, Marquis. I never left you.” Her melancholic voice rung his head.

He opened his eyes, holding the courage to speak inside himself when Marquis looked right in the eyes of the judge and blew his words like a fire shot as the distance wasn't bothering him.

“Your honor, I would like to convey my words.” Marquis softly started speaking when he breathed in and out again before proceeding further ahead. “I swear that the words that I will going to speak, will be guarded by the knights of truth, honesty and loyalty.” His voice was calm which hinted the surroundings that they won't going to face any kind of danger. “Your honor, I would like to say that, I kind of lost the track from the start. I didn't know how to spent those extra money that my father always liked to give me for no reason at all, until I was being too naïve yet weak towards a girl who was attracted to the river of money that flowed because of me.” He paused and was about to proceed further ahead when suddenly a man interrupted him.

“Objection!! He's trying to manipulate our minds!!” The opposite lawyer raised his voice.

“Objection overruled.” The judge ordered as Marquis simply didn't respond when the lawyer got avoided for good. “You may proceed, Marquis.”

“Thank you. I burst into an unknown car of some people which sensed so wrong but they told me that they could help me at that time when I was being too silly to approve their offer. I won't mention their names here as the walls already had ears attached to them and it will simply make your life a mess. I was craving for someone to hold my hand at that time as my mind was facing emotional breakdowns, when I already left my home behind too.” Marquis made sure that the disrespecting vocabulary doesn't touch the conversation when his voice was calmer than ever as he lowered his head. “Your honor, I hold a really big explanation but surely it will put up few people in trouble for no reason, because of no reason. I just want to say that I named my whole property, my money yet almost my everything......to my girlfriend. The girl that I found later afterwards, during this process. The girl who faced me silently no matter how harsh yet how hard that I was being to her. The girl with whom I fell in love with and her love changed me. Showed me the true colors of positivity that I never thought I would ever see.” His words were pure and honest when he spoke so delicately. “Except my car and my phone, which I needed or else I would give that away too. I don't have anything remained by my side.” With his head low that he shook his head when he thought about the thing that from where that he gained such courage of speaking like that? He himself doesn't knew but he did.

“Do you have any proof?” The Judge asked with an emotionless tone.

Marquis gulped once again and prayed for Louis to show up soon when now that he stuttered. “I-I do.”

“Show us.” The judge spoke again, sternly.

“Here's the proof.”

His prayers were suddenly answered when soon Louis appeared along with her and she heard every word that he conveyed.
