Chapter 71 Chapter Seventy-One
Chapter 71 Chapter Seventy-One
"You passed out Angel, but you are okay." I say, grabbing her hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.
She stares at me for a minute, her eyes going wide. "Did I hurt him again?" She asks, her voice laced with panic.
"Hurt who baby?" I ask, hoping she can remember what happened. I will feel a lot better if she knows what happened.
"Micklin. We are at Micklin's house, right? I- I was apologizing. He looked so bad." She says, eyes filling with tears. "Did I hurt him again?" She asks.
I reach out with my free hand, rubbing her cheek. "No Leilani, you didn't hurt him. You healed him." I say, giving her a soft smile.
"I- I what?" She asks, furrowing her brows, her face scrunching up in confusion.
"You healed him. He is one hundred percent better now, not a scratch on him." I say, glancing over at Samina who is watching the two of us. She looks mostly relieved. Probably because Leilani is awake now, but I'm still a little worried that she can't remember exactly what happened. If she can remember what went through her mind before she touched Micklin or what she did when she touched him, then maybe she could prevent it from happening that way again or maybe she can learn to control it.
"But how? How did I heal him? I just remember trying to apologize. He was mad at me. Micklin was walking away from me. I didn't do anything." She says, tears steaming down her face.
I smile, nodding my head. "Yes, you did. We don't know exactly what you did, but you healed him babygirl. You have the ability to heal others."
"He's right, Alpha Leilani. You healed Micklin and I'm sure you can heal others as well once you have control of your gift. You just have to be careful not to use too much of your strength." Samina says.
Leilani tries to sit up again and this time I let her, helping her sit up slowly. I'm still not one hundred percent sure she is okay and I'm not going to take any chances. "I thought I could only heal myself." She says, tears still streaming down her cheeks.
"We thought so too, but that isn't the case baby. It looks like you can heal other people as well as super healing yourself. There is still a lot to learn about your gifts." I say, smiling at her.
Leilani nods her head. "I- I'm glad I helped him heal, but I just wish I could remember what I did. I want to be able to help other people. I don't want to hurt them." She says, looking at me with a sad expression
"I know Angel. You would never hurt anyone on purpose, but you have to be careful. You passed out because you used too much of your own energy healing Micklin. I don't want you to pass out again or have something even worse happen." I say, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.
Leilani is quiet for a minute and Samina brings her a glass of water. "Here sweetie, you need to drink some water." Samina says.
Leilani smiles at her. "Thank you Samina." She says, as she takes a sip of water, her hands shaking slightly.
"How are you feeling?" I ask, trying not to let her hear how concerned I really am.
"I'm okay. I just feel a little weak." She says, as she takes another drink of water.
"You need to rest Angel. You will feel better soon." I say, giving her a reassuring smile.
Leilani nods her head. "I hope so." She says, leaning her head back and closing her eyes.
I turn my attention to Samina. "I can take her home. So, we are out of your way." I say, as I reach out to scoop Leilani into my arms. She has already done more than her fair share of helping us today. I don't want to keep bothering her.
Samina shakes her hand. "Don't be silly, she can rest right here until she is feeling better. I will whip us up something to eat real quick. Maybe food will help her regain her strength faster." Samina says, as she turns and walks towards the kitchen, not giving me a chance to argue.
"Thank you, Samina." I say, turning my attention back to Leilani. She isn't asleep yet, but I can tell it won't take long before she is sleeping. "Lay down, Angel. You can sleep here." I say, as I help her lay back down.
"Please don't leave." She whispers, sounding half asleep.
I smile, even though she isn't looking at me. "I won't. I promise. Just rest, I will be right here." I whisper, rubbing her cheek. A few minutes later, Leilani is sound asleep. I lean down, placing a soft kiss on her forehead before standing up and going to the kitchen. I want to look through the journals again, maybe there is something I missed. I just want to find something to help her, even if it is just a tiny bit.
"Do you need any help?" I ask Samina, who is standing at the stove stirring something that smells really good.
Samina turns to me, giving me a small smile. "No, that's okay. Thank you though, Malakai." She says, and I can tell there is something bothering her, but I'm not sure if I should ask. If it has to do with Leilani, I want to know. If not then, I don't want to be nosey.
"You're welcome Samina, if you change your mind let me know." I say, watching her for a minute. I know there is something on her mind, hopefully she will tell me without me having to ask, until then I need to look at the journals again. "Would you mind if I read through the journals again?" I ask, trying to be polite.
"Of course you can, but you know they haven't changed any since when you read them earlier. So, I'm not sure exactly what you are hoping to find." Samina says, teasing a little.
I sigh. "I don't know. I just want there to be something that will help her." I say, as I start flipping through the journals again.
Samina gives me a sympathetic smile. "I know, I wish I had more information. Something that can help her as well, but we will just have to work with the information we do have." She says, as she turns the stove off and comes to sit at the table with me. "Is Leilani asleep?" She asks, in a soft whisper.
