Chapter 24 Chapter Twenty-Four
Malakai’s lips curl into a devilish grin. “Don’t forget you are all mine. If he touches you, I will break his arm.”
Rolling my eyes, I laugh. “I love you and your jealousy.” I kiss him once on the lips and he quickly looks around, searching for my father.
“We have to be careful angel.” He says eyes wide.
I smile and head back to my bed. Blowing him a kiss from my bed I attempt to read the rest of the story for English, but all I can think about is when I will be able to kiss him again. I give up on reading. Sighing I jump out of bed and try to decide what to wear to the party tonight. Malakai might not be my date, but I still want to look sexy for him.
Flipping through my closet I find the perfect dress and heels. Tonight, is going to be great.
\-Malakai's POV-
“No Tiberius.” I say trying to rationalize with him.
Tiberius shakes his head in disbelief. He wants me to bring Amara to the party as my date. Amara is the last person that needs to be here tonight. I would rather party alone than risk hurting Leilani again, I can’t tell him that though.
“I don’t understand Malakai, I thought you guys had a good time on New Year’s Eve.”
We didn’t, it almost cost me my mate. Without being able to explain that to him without getting myself and Leilani in trouble I just shake my head. “I’m just not in the mood for entertaining tonight, Tiberius.”
Tiberius’ eyes widen as he sucks in a deep breath. “I might have already invited her to the party, I thought you would be excited. I’m sorry Malakai.”
Shit. Leilani is going to be pissed. Maybe I can get rid of her before Leilani sees her. Plastering on a fake smile I thank Tiberius before heading to the store. The night I found out Leilani was my mate I called in a custom order for a ring. It is an infinity sign with our birthstones in the middle. The jewelry store called this morning to let me know it’s ready.
The drive across town takes about forty-five minutes. There isn’t much traffic out right now, everyone is probably home getting ready for dates or the Valentine’s Day party at the pack house tonight.
The jewelry store is decorated with pink and red hearts and flowers setting the mood for the holiday season. There is a young she-wolf working behind the counter. She is probably about mid-twenties, with bleach blonde hair and dark green eyes. As I approach the counter she flashes me a flirty smile, “Well good evening gorgeous how can I help you?”
Smiling politely, I ask for my order. She heads to the back, and I don’t miss the way she purposely sways her hips trying to make her ass jiggle. I laugh to myself. Women always try to flirt with me, before Leilani became my mate I would have flirted back. I probably would have taken her home and had sex with her. All of that has changed now.
Leilani is the only woman on my mind. She stays there twenty-four seven. The young lady returns from the back, the top two buttons on her white blouse have been unbuttoned. She leans across the counter seductively as she slides the box to me. Opening it slowly.
It’s perfect, even better than I had pictured. I turn the open box around to show her and she smiles. “Wow. You have good taste.” She says flirtatiously.
“Thank you.” I smile. “I bought it for my mate.”
Her smile falls as she quickly straightens up. “Have a good evening, ma’am.” I say as I walk out the door leaving her dumbfounded.
I anxiously make my way back to the house. I can’t wait to see Leilani’s face when she opens her gift. Several party guests have already arrived by the time I make it back to the pack house. I greet them as i make my way inside the house. Searching around the room I quickly find Leilani.
Leilani looks stunning. She is wearing a form fitting black lace dress that reveals way too much skin for a party. The dress hits mid-thigh with the slip reaching just below her ass. The top is a deep V-neck showing off her perfect breasts. It has long lace sleeves, and you can see her stomach through the lace. I want her so bad. I have to resist the urge to run over and rip the dress off with my teeth.
She catches me staring and her face turns bright red. I love seeing her blush. She doesn’t know just how gorgeous she is, I will spend the rest of my life showing her how perfect she is. Tiberius places his hand on my shoulder, and I quickly avert my gaze from his daughter.
“Can I speak to you in my office for a moment?” Tiberius says in his no-nonsense tone.
My heart races. Does he know about me and Leilani? Is he going to kick me out of the house? There is no way he knows, I just need to calm down. “Sure.” I say trying to hide my nervousness.
Tiberius leads the way upstairs; we pass by Leilani. She gives me an anxious glance; I shrug my shoulders unsure of what’s going on. Once upstairs in his office Tiberius shuts the door behind us, even though no one is around.
“Is everything alright alpha?”
Tiberius sucks in a deep breath. “Actually. No.” He frowns.
This can’t be good. My mind races with the thousands of possibilities that could be going on. What if George said something to him? I can’t lose Leilani. I am fully prepared to fight for her if I have to. “What’s going on?” I ask shifting uncomfortably in my chair.
“Leilani is going to be upset. I hate seeing her cry, but I have to do it.” Tiberius pauses. A lump forms in my throat as I swallow hard. “I need you to stay with Leilani again Malakai. I’m leaving the day after tomorrow on another business trip.”
I release the breath I didn’t know I was holding. A feeling of relief comes over me, for a brief moment. I furrow my brows. “You just got home Tiberius.” Leilani is going to be devastated.
He shakes his head looking down at his hands. “I know. I don’t want to go, but it’s important. Please say you can stay.”
