Chapter 121 Leave Disaster in the Past
Chapter 121 Leave Disaster in the Past
Mia decided to sort through Rick's belongings. It was a challenging task, as each item held memories of their time together, both good and bad. She carefully packed his clothes, personal items, and mementos into boxes.
One day, with everything neatly packed, Mia made her way to Rick's baby mama's house. She wanted to make sure that his son would have everything he needed. Mia felt a sense of responsibility, knowing that she was now carrying a child as well, and she wanted to ensure that the children had what they deserved.
Rick's baby mama was surprised to see Mia at her door, holding boxes filled with Rick's belongings. She watched as Mia explained her intentions, that she wanted to provide for Rick's son. The two women shared a bittersweet moment, acknowledging the complexities of their relationships with Rick.
Mia moved out of their matrimonial home, leaving it empty, a place that now held too many painful memories. She couldn't bear to stay there any longer, and she knew she needed a fresh start.
With Claus's support, Mia relocated to a different city, far away from the past that haunted her. Claus had been a pillar of strength, caring for Mia as her pregnancy advanced. He made sure she attended all her prenatal check-ups, prepared meals for her, and created a safe and comforting environment.
As the months passed, Mia's belly swelled with life.
Claus, by her side every step of the way, continued to reassure Mia that they were in this together, that he would support her through the challenges of motherhood.
Their bond deepened. Claus and Mia found moments of joy and laughter. They cherished their time together, making the most of every opportunity to bond and strengthen their relationship.
One evening, as they sat together on the couch, Claus wrapped his arms around Mia's growing belly, feeling the baby's movements. Mia looked at him with a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Claus, I think... I think it's happening," Mia said, her voice trembling with a hint of excitement.
Claus's eyes widened in alarm. "What? Now? But it's still early!"
Mia couldn't contain her laughter as she watched Claus's panic rise. "Gotcha!" she exclaimed, bursting into giggles.
Claus blinked in confusion for a moment, and then realization washed over him. He let out a sigh of relief, though he was slightly out of breath from the shock. "Mia, you can't do that to a guy in my position!"
Mia laughed even harder, tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Claus. I couldn't resist. You looked so worried!"
Claus chuckled, shaking his head. "You definitely got me there. I thought I was going to need to call an ambulance."
They shared a hearty laugh together, the tension of the moment dissipating. Claus gently kissed Mia's forehead, a loving smile on his face. "You know, Mia, when the real moment comes, I'll be right there with you, ready to support you no matter what."
Mia nodded, touched by his words. "I know, Claus. And I'm grateful to have you by my side."
That evening, as they sat together in the soft glow of the living room, Mia took a deep breath, her fingers gently tracing circles on her belly where their unborn child rested. She turned to Claus, her eyes serious yet filled with curiosity.
"Claus, there's something I want to talk to you about," Mia began, her voice soft but determined.
Claus turned his attention fully to her, his gaze warm and attentive. "Of course, Mia. You can talk to me about anything."
Mia hesitated for a moment, choosing her words carefully. "I want us to do a DNA test after the baby is born."
Claus's brow furrowed in surprise. "A DNA test? Why would you want to do that?"
Mia looked into his eyes, her own gaze unwavering. "Claus, I just want to be sure. With everything that's happened, all the uncertainty, I want to know for certain that our baby is... well, ours."
Claus sighed softly, his fingers intertwining with Mia's. "Mia, I understand your concerns, but I want you to know something. I love you, and I love this baby, regardless of what a DNA test might say."
Mia's eyes softened, and she smiled warmly at Claus. "I know you do, Claus, and I love you too. It's not about doubting you or our relationship. It's about peace of mind, about being absolutely sure."
Claus nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I see your point, Mia. If it's something that will put your mind at ease, then I'm willing to do it."
Mia's face lit up with gratitude, and she squeezed Claus's hand. "Thank you, Claus. It means a lot to me. And please understand, no matter what the test says, this baby will always be ours in my heart."
Claus smiled, leaning in to place a tender kiss on Mia's forehead. "I wouldn't have it any other way, Mia. No test result can change the love I feel for you and our child."
One sunny afternoon, the doorbell rang, and Mia rushed to answer it. She opened the door to find Carol standing there with a mischievous grin on her face. Mia's eyes lit up with joy as she exclaimed, "Carol! It's so good to see you!"
Carol stepped inside, embracing Mia in a warm hug. "You too, Mia! And look at you, all pregnant and glowing!" She teased, gesturing to Mia's baby bump.
Mia blushed slightly, feeling self-conscious but also secretly pleased with the compliment. "Oh, stop it, Carol. You're embarrassing me."
Claus, who had been in the kitchen preparing some snacks, joined them in the living room. He grinned at Mia and chimed in, "Yes, Mia, you're positively radiant."
Mia couldn't help but smile, despite her embarrassment. "You two are impossible."
Carol playfully patted Mia's baby bump. "But seriously, Mia, you look amazing. Pregnancy suits you."
Mia pretended to be annoyed, crossing her arms. "Alright, alright. That's enough teasing for one day."
Claus wrapped his arms around Mia, pulling her close. "Don't mind her, love. You're the most beautiful woman in the world, pregnant or not."
Mia's heart melted at Claus's words, and she couldn't stay mad for long. She leaned into his embrace, giving him a loving smile. "You always know how to make me feel better."
Carol teases them one more time. "Aww, you two are so sweet. It's sickeningly adorable."
Mia and Claus shared a laugh, knowing that Carol's teasing came from a place of affection.
"Tell me, Carol. "You are not leaving anytime soon, are you?" Mia asked impatiently
"Oh, that's true, I no longer have a house." Carol teases with a serious face.
"Really, we've got only a room here," Claus played along. They all laughed.
"I will be staying till we have the baby." Carol said, smiling.
"Wow, I didn't know we are all pregnant. I am happy you are doing this for us, Carol," Mia said, grateful.
"Oh come on, don't make me blush to death." They continued to laugh.
