Chapter 115 Betrayal Husband Disaster

Chapter 115 Betrayal Husband Disaster
Mia had been closely monitoring the unfolding events and the city's reaction to the revelations about the Beast. However, she couldn't help but notice that Rick seemed unusually anxious and excited. Sensing that something was amiss, she approached him with a concerned expression.

"Rick, what's going on?" Mia asked in a hushed tone, her voice filled with worry. "You seem... off."

Rick hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to confide in Mia. But the excitement of what he believed was imminent police assistance got the better of him, and he decided to share his actions with her.

With a forced smile, Rick leaned closer to Mia and whispered his intentions. "Mia, I found a phone in the safe house, and I called my office. I gave them our location, and they promised to send the police to save us. Can you imagine that? We're going to be safe!"

Mia's eyes widened in alarm as she realized the implications of Rick's actions. She knew that involving the police would not only jeopardize their mission but also put the entire team at risk. Panic and anger welled up inside her.

"Rick, you can't do that!" she hissed, her voice quivering with fear and frustration. "You've put everyone in danger, including your baby!"

Rick, however, was blinded by his belief that the police would be their saviors. He clamped a hand over Mia's mouth, preventing her from raising her voice. His eyes darted around, making sure no one was watching their heated exchange.

"You don't understand, Mia," Rick whispered urgently. "This is our way out, our chance for a normal life with our child. We can't keep running forever."

Mia's eyes filled with tears as she tried to push Rick's hand away, but he held her forcefully. In a swift and surprising move, Rick dragged her to a nearby room and locked the door behind them, cutting her off from the rest of the team.

His face contorted with determination and fear, Rick leaned closer to Mia and spoke in a low, trembling voice. "I had to do this for us, Mia. For my baby. You'll thank me later."

He tied her hands to a chair and then covered her mouth with a piece of clothing he found in the room.

Mia's heart raced as she realized the gravity of the situation. She knew that Rick's actions had potentially compromised their entire mission and placed their lives in jeopardy. Desperation welled up inside her, and she knew she had to find a way to alert the team and prevent Rick's misguided plan from unfolding.

As the tension within the team continued to mount, Claus couldn't help but notice Mia's conspicuous absence. He exchanged a concerned look with Carol, who also became increasingly alarmed by the situation.

"Where's Mia?" Claus asked Carol, his voice laced with worry.

Carol frowned, his concern deepening. He had seen Mia with Rick earlier, but now her absence raised red flags. "I'm not sure. Let me check with Rick."

Carol approached Rick, who had been attempting to act nonchalant but couldn't hide the anxiety in his eyes. "Rick, where's Mia?"

Rick hesitated for a moment, his mind racing for an excuse. "She's resting," he finally replied, his voice shaky. "She said she needed to take a nap."

Carol seemed to buy the explanation, but Claus remained skeptical. He stepped forward, his eyes locked onto Rick's. "I want to see her, just to make sure she's okay."

Rick's face contorted with a mixture of fear and frustration. He knew that if Claus saw Mia, it would jeopardize his plan to involve the police. The tension in the room reached a breaking point as Rick confronted Claus about his relationship with Mia.

"What's your obsession with my wife, Claus?" Rick snapped, his voice laced with anger and jealousy. "You've always been too close to her, and it's not right."

Carol tried to intervene, attempting to calm the escalating situation, but it was too late. Claus and Rick were locked in a heated confrontation, trading accusations and resentments.

Amid the chaos of their argument, they heard muffled sounds coming from the nearby room. It was a repetitive thumping noise, like something hitting against a chair or a wall. The sudden realization that the noise was coming from inside the room sent a shockwave through the team.

Without a moment's hesitation, they rushed to the room, where they discovered the door had been locked from the outside. Panic and urgency filled the air as they hurriedly unlocked the door, revealing a shocking sight.

Inside the room, Mia sat bound to a chair, her mouth covered and her eyes filled with terror. She had been desperately trying to draw their attention by jumping on the chair, creating the thumping sound they had heard.

The team members were horrified by the sight before them, and their immediate priority was to free Mia from her restraints and ensure her safety. While Carol untied Mia, Claus turned to Rick, "Did you do this?" He asked impatiently.

Rick wanted to say otherwise, knowing that Claus would come after him if he said yes, but Mia, whose mouth cover had been removed, spoke hastily. "Yes, he did. He has a phone. He called the police; they are on their way here."

Everybody was shocked. Rick tried to run but was stopped at the entrance by Sergio. "What did you do?" Sergio asked, angry.

Claus didn't wait a moment. A few punches landed on Rick's face, adding to the bruises he had earlier on. "You dare do that to Mia?" Claus yelled.

Amidst the chaos and anger that had erupted in the room, Carol took charge of the situation, her voice firm and commanding. She demanded the phone from Rick, who, now bloodied and bruised, reluctantly handed it over. The tension in the room was palpable as Carol examined the device.

As Carol scrolled through the phone, her expression grew increasingly grave. It became evident that the phone had once belonged to El Patrio, and its contents held a wealth of potentially dangerous information.

"This is El Patrio's phone," Carol declared, his voice low and filled with concern.

"What!" Daniel exclaimed in shock.

"Fuck!" Sergio yelled.

Claus, who had been seething with anger, suddenly snapped into action. He snatched the phone from Carol's hands and began examining it closely, searching for any signs of surveillance or tracking.

The team members gathered around, their faces etched with a mixture of anger and anxiety. The realization that they had unknowingly brought a compromised phone into their sanctuary weighed heavily on them.

Sergio, still seething with anger, took a step toward Rick, his fists clenched. He was ready to deliver another blow, but Carol intervened, stepping between them.

"That's enough," Carol said firmly, placing a restraining hand on Sergio's chest. "We have a bigger problem on our hands. The Beast could be tracking us right now."

Claus, with his expertise, confirmed their worst fears. "This phone is definitely bugged. They could be listening to everything we're saying."
