Chapter 51 Chapter 26 (i)
FAE
"But I wore this for you," I complained.
"I know. And those are mine," he said about my cleavage. "That's why I don't want anyone else to see and imagine you—just change, please, babe? Please?"
Unfair.
But I changed into another. It was our first date, but not the first time I'd experienced his possessiveness. At the resort, when we swam at the beach, he covered me with a towel when he saw male tourists watching us. He made me wear shorts and his t-shirt when I wanted to stay further to swim more. His actions were possessive, but I didn't mind it then. I chose to not mind it now, too.
Just for tonight.
I changed into a sleeveless maroon bodycon dress with a square neckline and a gold chain belt accessory, black peep-toe slingback high heels on my feet. Only a little cleavage showed, and the hem was just above mid-thigh, but there was a high slit so I wore black boy shorts underneath. He groaned that the skirt would get shorter when I sat down, but he allowed the outfit. Before we left, I buttoned up two more buttons on his shirt to cover his chest.
He laughed, pulled me close, and kissed me before we left the condo. How grateful I was now that his sexy chest was hidden from these women's eyes.
A waiter approached, and Jigo introduced him as Adrian. "Sir! Miss Fae is so beautiful! The most beautiful of all—uh... the only and first girlfriend, sir. Yes, sir!”
“Adrian?” One call to a name to remind him his job.
“So, dirty martini for Miss Fae?"
When the waiter left, Jigo shook his head. "In the next five minutes, my whole staff will know you’re my girlfriend. The general manager will approach, and I’ll tell him that—"
"Hi, Jigo! Can we come in?" a perky voice interrupted from the other side of the cordon.
"—no one else can get through the cordons but your friends," he continued. He turned to the woman. "I’m sorry, Megan."
"Rachel," she corrected, not offended, her flirtatious smile staying in place.
"Rachel. I’m with my girlfriend right now, and we’re waiting for some other friends. It’ll just be us here tonight."
Rachel’s shoulders dropped, and she glanced at me before returning her gaze to Jigo. He was already leaning down to kiss my ear and my temple, making the women frown before they returned to the dance floor.
I saw them whispering and pointing at us. "Does that always happen when you’re at the clubs?"
"I’m usually inside the office, working until I’m done for the night. I often leave right after to check on my other... I mean, our other nightclubs. I stay here longer because I have more business friends and regular friends who club here. I do come up here to share a few drinks with them for a short while." He lifted his head from my shoulder. "And yes, as soon as the boys arrive, those women will try to wriggle their way up here."
"When that happens, is it what you call a hookup?"
He shook his head. "No, it doesn’t usually go there. They’re not my type."
I looked at him. "So what about when it happens?"
He looked uncomfortable. "Babe...?" he pleaded.
"So what’s your type?" I asked, crossing my arms.
He smiled slightly, but with worried, watchful eyes. "Ahm. I really don’t know how to answer that. Usually, I’ve seen the woman a few times and know she’s not clingy or going to become a stalker afterward, so… that’s when a hookup is possible."
"So, you have options all the time."
His eyes widened. "Babe…!"
"Physical type?"
He scratched his head, and I saw a thin sheen of sweat forming on what I could see of his forehead. "I don’t have a specific preference. Even if she’s beautiful, if she’ll be a problem, it’s a no go."
"But usually, what do they look like? Tall? Or short? Thin with small breasts? Or curvy with large boobs—"
"Whoa. Honey, babe, sweetheart... why are you asking these questions? It’s never going to happen again. We’re married. I’m done with that."
"Have you ever, since we got together—"
"No. Never," he interrupted. "In fact, this is the first time I’ve checked in here since then. Okay? I haven’t looked at another woman since I realized I wanted to be with you in the resort, I swear."
"But we weren’t together then, so it’s okay."
He was serious now. "Fae, no. After our resort trip, I knew we were exclusive, even if you didn’t know it yet. I knew I’d follow you to Manila and find an excuse to see you again. So maybe we weren’t together yet then, but in my mind, we were." He laughed slightly, as if realizing it just now. "And believe me, I went a little crazy thinking that all the time I hadn’t shown up on your doorstep, there might be another guy taking my place as your rebound."
"What?" I asked in amazement. "That is crazy. I wasn’t looking for another rebound. It just happened at the resort because you were there. I didn’t expect it would happen to me."
"I also didn’t expect to go crazy like that over you, but here we are, up here so people will know we’re together. It’s you and me, babe. So don’t get jealous of other women in my past, please? There has never been any woman like you."
