Chapter 86

Chapter 86
Emeralds POV

I looked at the woman. Granted she had a point but still to belittle anyone like that is ridiculous. She was being mean and for no reason. Like what did I do to her? Nothing at all.
"You know, I have never seen you around here before. Where did you come from? The street? Are you a gutter rat? I mean, I have been coming into Tolopos and this is the first time I have ever seen the likes of you before." She said.
I ignored her as I went back to look at the dress. I didn't need to start a fight with someone that I barely know. Again I could have sworn I heard the dress calling out to me.
"Loser freak, don't you listen I told you this dress is mine." She said and snapped her fingers.
As she waited for something to happen her friend who was with her said quietly but loudly enough that I heard her, "WIth all the dresses you bought today, one of these on saturday will surely get Jeremiah's attention."
"Your mom has been pushing you on him for years and now its finally going to happen. Just think when you have dinner on saturday with his family, you the daughter of Arinne, the goddess of war. To be with him, you two would be a perfect couple." Her other friend said.
I smirked rolling my eyes.
"Hey loser freak, here comes the sale asscoiate, now I suggest you get out of my sight before you put bad luck on my dress." She said.
Just then at the same time the sales associate reached us, Jeremys mom walked over as well. "Did you find anything you like my dear?"
"Mrs. Thorn, Goddess of wraith and destruction, I cannot wait to see your beautiful home on Saturday. I bought outifts today for the special occasion." The woman said.
"Mia, thank you so much. I am sure your mother would appreciate you on your outfit choices." She said poilitely.
Mia that was her name.
"Now, Emerald did you see anything you like?" asked Mrs. Thorn.
"Yes actually. I saw this royal purple dress here and I would like to get it if possible." I said.
"Oh of course my dear. Sales you heard the woman." Mrs. Thorn said.
"Mrs. Thorn with all due respect but this dress is mine. I was going to buy it as one of my dresses for this Saturday. What would she need a dress like that for? She is beneath us." said Mia.
"Beneath us? Oh that is far from the truth. She is higher up than even me. But here is not the time nor place to discuss that. I will say this however. Just because I am allowing you to come over to my home on Saturday means nothing to me. I am doing it as a nicety to Arrine and that is that. I think everyone who is everyone knows how you have a had a crush on my oldest son for years. Let me make this perfectly clear to you once and for all. My son never would have dated you and never will. I really hope you get that thought out of your head and move on." She explained.
"What?!" Mia gasped as well as her friends, even the associate gasped as I smiled.
"Oh yes, I wonder what my son would think of to know that you of all people are insulting his soul mate, my daughter in law." She said.
"What?!" Mia screeched with her friends.
"Yes you heard me correctly. This here is my daughter in law, my oldest son's Jeremiah's soul mate. Now knowing how ruthless, cold hearted and mean my oldest son can be. I am sure he would love to hear how you disprected his soul mate in front of multiple people as well as out in public." She said.
"But, but, but, Mrs. Thorn, you can't be serious. How was I suppose to know? You see, I was just...." She started off trying to explain.
"I am very serious. You see they have a bond like no other. I am sure that if we do not say anything that will not matter. With the soul mate bond, they can hear what the other one is going through especially when they are upset. With how I am feeling Emerald's upset right now, I am sure he is feeling it ten fold. With how upset you made her, be ready for your punishment. Your see my Jeremiah, is always out for blood. So I am quite sure your blood will be on his hands today at some point for the damage you have done. If I were you I would be praying that he would have mercy on you. Now sales, please wrap up this dress as well as the three others I have found. I set them up front for you." She explained cold, ruthlessly, and straight to the point.
"But Mrs. Thorn--" Mia tried saying.
"I have sent your mother the conversation you have had with daughter in law, now off you go. I am sure your mother would love to talk to you. By the way I told your mother as well, that dinner is off on Saturday. I do not the likes of you near my home again until I hear an apology. Depending thought on what my son does to you, you might never be able to talk again. But we will see. Now off you go." She clapped her hands and all three of the women disappeared.
"How did you do that?" I asked.
"I clapped my hands and sent them home. I should have done something worse to them. But thier punishment is coming." She said.
"Is that true what you said? That Jeremy will hurt her for being rude to me?" I asked.
"Of course my dear. You see gods and goddesses, all of them, have an intetolorance for anyone being rude. Mia knows better than to insult you or anyone else for that matter. We might seem cold and heartless and in a way we have to be. But rudeness and being mean for no reason when you did nothing wrong, will not be tolerated. Jeremy will give her a punishment that will fit her crime." She said.
"Oh." I said. "I mean she was rude but-"
"But she needs to be punished. That is not okay. In this realm or the human realm. We were all taught compassion, love and acceptance. Mia knows that, understands that, but is so blinded by power she does not get it. Power comes with more than just power. You have to understand the other feelings and emotions that come with it as well. Mia has always been spoiled and it shows in how she treats others." She said.
I thought about it and nodded, biting my lip as we made our way to the front of store as they wrapped up our purchases.
"Now not another thought about it. All you need to think about is where would like to go next. Tolopos is yours." She said gesturing to the place as we grabbed our purchases and made our way back into the ornate hallway.
