Chapter 74

Emeralds POV

I walked to the room that was across from the playroom. I pushed open the door to see that this room had light purple walls that were a soft lilac. The floor was actually a white washed hardwood flooring. The bed was a canopy white bed with soft lilac colored curtains with fairy lights and sparkles intertwined at each corner of the bed posts. The blankets were a deep purple with lilac pillows and lilac sheets. The dressers in the room was also lilac with white knobs. There was a smaller tv to above the one lower dresser. On top of that dresser there was a stuffed bunny on either side that were pink and purple, then there was a pink jewelry box in the shape of a rectangle, a white hand that had different colored rings on it, then a white tree that had different colored necklaces hanging from it. I opened up a couple of the drawers and they even had my clothes still in it from when I was a kid. On the lilac night stands there was soft pink lamps and a book that read the Wizard of Oz along with remote right beside it. I saw a pink make up table to the right of the bed with a pink sparkly chandelier hanging from the ceiling. I went up to it and saw a little make up kit, nail polish, and perfumes and lotions and my princess hairbrush. I remembered myself sitting here and brushing my hair, doing my nails, and make up. My dad really didn’t get rid of anything of mine.

I stood up walked to the closet. The closet was very organized. There were dresses of multiple colors, jeans folded neatly, shirts of every color of the rainbow, along with different colored matching sweats. Then shoes of all different kinds from rain boots, snow boots, sandals, tennis shoes.

“Even as a child you were very organized. Everything had a spot.” My dad said.

“It still does.” I laughed. “I just am so surprised that you didn’t get rid of anything.”

“You are my only child. I couldn’t ever get rid of anything. You are my pride and joy.” Dad said.

I walked over and hugged him. “Thank you.”

“You are welcome.” He said hugging me tightly.

I let go and said, “I’m going to explore some more.”

He nodded letting go.

Jeremy followed behind me as I went into the bathroom to see a very girly bathroom with pink walls and white bathtub, white tiled shower, white toilet and pink rugs. There was even a pink sparkly chandelier.

I went out to the hallway and I figured the room on the other side of the stairs must be my dad’s room. It was. I opened it to see it was actually a soft warm gray. There were white walls with soft gray accents and black bed covers with a black bed frame. The lights were a soft gray as well. He was just as neat and organized as I was. Being my dad that is probably where I learned it from. But I didn’t stay in his room for long.

The one thing I did noticed though was there was that there were pictures of us here or there in the house. Some were professionally taken where we had dressed up and had someone take photos of us. Then some were do us doing our normal every day thing. “Dad who took some of these photos of us?”

“If I thought the moment was perfect for picture to be taken so we can capture that moment forever I would have Ryder’s dad do it. His dad was one of the greatest warriors I ever had and still do but his picture taking skills were even better. Eventually he decided he didn’t want to be a part of the warriors anymore since he had gotten older than the younger generation. He told me he wanted to become a photographer. I was thrilled and of course told him I had enough warriors to please be happy and continue to do what he loves.” My dad explained.

“I never knew that. Ryder has never really talked about his family to much.” I said.

“His dad and Ryder butt heads a lot when Ryder was growing up. But I kept telling him that Ryder was just like him as a young boy, very head strong and hard headed.” Dad explained.

I laughed, “True.”

After a few minutes we went back down the stairs to see the backyard. “Dad this place has such a sense of home. It’s absolutely beautiful. But compared to the rest of the island this one is a real treat while the other islands are the dead, no hopes, no dreams.”

“Raising you, I could not raise you in that type of environment so I built this house to prove to you that there is more color to this world and more love than what is out there.” He explained.

“I understand.” I said.

I went to the back door to see the backyard was just as beautiful. I walked outside to see the a big pool, a hot tub, and outdoor pavilion covering an outdoor kitchen. There were fresh vegetable gardens back here. Everything from pumpkins, corn, tomatoes, zucchini and peppers, etc. I was amazed by how everything was so fresh to the flowers, the vegetables. I then looked to see trees lining a wooden fence. “Dad wasn’t there an iron gate?”

“There is that lines the property. But for extra security and measure I stuck this wooden one up. Plus the way you used to run around as a child I had to fence in a smaller area so I could keep track of you.” He laughed.

“Thanks.” I said.

“The trees are actually fruit trees.” He said confirming my thoughts.

The trees were amazing. Lemons, apples, banana trees, I was shocked. “Dad how is it that you are able to grow different vegetables and fruits that aren’t in season?”

“I am a god. I can do anything I want. That means I can grow whatever I like at any time. It does not have to be particular season.” He said. “But here I can control the weather and what I want it to do. As a kid when you wished it would rain so you could jump in the puddles, I would make it rain. When you want it to snow so you could build a snowman, I would make it snow.” My dad explained.

“Could I do that too?” I asked in surprise.

“I do not know how strong your powers really are. I also would not recommend it in the human realm. Humans get suspicious over every little thing. My fear would be that if you were to do that there and someone finds out about it. That is if you can even do it.” Dad explained.

“Um, Mom, you have been awfully quiet over there. What is going through your head?” I asked. I knew Jeremy was quiet too but he was more happy about me exploring and remembering things than anything.

“I just, am trying not, to cry.” She said her voice wobbly and cracking as she had tears in her eyes.

“Why?” Asked my dad.

“It, it’s making me realize, just how much, I have missed out on. You have done so much, to make sure that, she had a perfect childhood. You even kept everything. It’s making me realize just how much I missed out on. How much I should have been here.” She said quietly.

I know it’s going to sound terrible but I was glad she was feeling this type of emotion. She needed to feel this to understand how I felt about not having her there with me growing up. I didn’t want her to hurt but I feel like she understood it now. I felt uncomfortable about giving her a hug yet so my dad cuddled her and gave her hugs. Jeremy just wrapped an arm around my shoulder understanding that I didn’t know what to do in this situation. Jeremy kissed the top of my head as I felt uncomfortable. I saw a building near the back of the yard and made my way that way with Jeremy following behind me. I just felt like to give them space and a moment to themselves.
