Escape
Escape
For the next few days, Elias and I laid low in the cabin that Tristan provided for us. Each morning, he would bring us food and a change of clothes and then disappear for the rest of the day, leaving us to our own devices. It was a good time for us to grow closer—much closer. It was also a good time for me to tell him a bit more about my past than I now remembered, starting from when I was born to the time I was murdered.
I knew that it pained Elias to hear these things, but he listened quietly and didn't ask many questions. Likewise, he told me more about his past, like the time before the curse. Back when he was a happy young boy, the king wasn't so strict and smiled more. It looked like we were a pair of ruined souls that somehow managed to find each other despite the difference in universes and time.
"You awake?" Elias murmured on the morning of the third day.
I was, but I was still thinking about everything, including the fact that I hadn't told him that I was slowly dying. As time passed, I began to feel it more and more in my bones. At first, it was just a dull tiredness that could be cured by resting, but now I was beginning to feel weak. I needed to speak with Geofrey again, but I didn't know how.
"Is something wrong?" Elias continued running a hand across my cheek. "You're looking a little pale."
"I'm okay." I responded.
Rolling over, I looked into his eyes. Even after being with him for three days and seeing it, it was still so weird to see the blue and not the red. If I were being honest with myself, I would say that I had actually grown partial to the red.
"Are you sure?"
It was clear that Elias wasn't going to buy any excuse I made. Though I had considered telling him what I knew about my condition, I just couldn't find the courage to do it. He had already suffered so much, and whatever time I had left with him, I wanted to be good and not full of grief over my soon leaving.
"Maybe I miss home." I whispered, blushing.
This was the first time that I had referred to Allsbrook as home, and I wasn't quite sure how Elias would take it. Sure, he had said that he loved me, and that was plenty, but he hadn't said that Allsbrook was our home. Not yet, anyway.
"We'll go back soon." He promised, leaning in and kissing my forehead.
Smiling, I gave a nod before reaching out and wrapping my arms around his neck. Suddenly, I felt the urge to feel him against me, and I wanted to drink in his heat and taste.
"What are you doing?" he murmured as I pressed my lips to his.
"Do you really have to ask?" I smirked, lifting my head just enough to look into his eyes. "I think my actions speak for themselves."
"Do you think we have time for that irritance before Tristan shows?" Elias grumbled, his gaze narrowing.
"He can wait if he shows." I suggested beginning to tug at his shirt. "Right now, I just want you and don't want to have to wait."
"If you insist," Elias smirked.
Immediately, he met my impatience with his own. It didn't take long for our clothes to find their way to the floor so that our bodies could mingle together.
Letting out a contented sigh, I placed my hands on his firm chest and began to slowly rub down to his abdomen and then even further to his already throbbing dick. I just couldn't get enough of this man, and I wished that we could simply stay like this forever.
A groan escaped his lips as I wrapped my fingers around his shaft and began to work it. If this had been before a few days ago, I never would have had the courage, but now, knowing that our feelings were mutual and that there was a chance I would die soon, I didn't have the patience to be cautious.
"Valerie," Elias breathed, leaning down and kissing my neck. "You're playing with fire if you keep that up..."
"Then how about you burn me?" I whispered, smiling. "I want you, Elias; is that so bad?"
Growling, he grabbed my hands and pinned them above my head as he shoved into me, so deeply that his tip pressed against my g-spot. A loud moan escaped my lips while he began to thrust in and out slowly, teasing and taunting me.
"Faster," I begged between moans. "Faster, Elias."
Pressing his lips against mine to quiet me, he began to thrust harder and deeper until moans of pleasure escaped me around his tongue and teeth.
I could feel myself being built higher and higher, but I still wanted more. Writhing, I arched my back, allowing Elias better access to me. This time could be our last, and I wanted to take full advantage. We didn't know what the future held as long as we were trapped in Vladmier's territory.
"Elias!" I screamed. "Harder!"
With each of his movements, the bed beneath us began to creak until it broke entirely, but even then, we didn't stop until we both exploded into mind-blowing euphoria.
"I love you." I murmured, kissing Elias' chest while he ran his fingers through my tangled hair afterwards. "I want you to know that."
"You sound as if you may leave." He pointed out, kissing my forehead.
I remained quiet as his words sank in. Little did he know that there was a good chance that I would end up leaving him soon. If I didn't figure out how to stop my current body from rejecting my soul, then I was a ticking time bomb.
"Should we get dressed?" I asked, deciding to avoid the subject for now. "Tristan could be here anytime."
"You're right." Elias sighed. "But I don't want to let you go."
"Be serious." I giggled, swatting at his chest. "We still have plenty of time."
As the words left my lips, a pang of pain shot through my chest, but I willed it away.
"When can we go back?" I continued, needing a distraction from my quickly dwindling mood.
"Soon," Elias promised, taking me in curiously.
"How soon is soon?" I pushed.
"Tonight." Elias responded, catching me by surprise. "We will be escaping tonight."
Gulping, I nodded. And even though I should have been happy, I couldn't help but feel an odd sense of foreboding. Maybe it was from the fear of having to leave this place, or maybe not. I didn't want to think too hard on it. Instead, I wanted to focus on my remaining peace with Elias.
