CHAPTER 29- THE GRADUATION DAY

After Duncan's happy birthday, we're back at school again. And it's all really refreshing because they're all studying hard so I'm very happy.

We are currently listening to what our teacher is discussing in filipino. When Duncan handed me a piece of paper.

I smiled so I also wrote and then I simply handed it to him.

I love you too .. ❤ Let's talk later so ma'am can see us.

After I returned the paper to him I turned my attention back to the front. He handed me the paper again, and I read it immediately.

Let him, he’s boring to teach.

It's really crazy! Does he wish he could not graduate? I stared at him and then wrote again.

Don't you want to grumaduate? All right, I won't marry you

I smiled at what I said. I would have given it to him again when Joyce took the paper from my hand and read it. I widened my eyes at him and just laughed at me. Duncan frowned as I turned to look at him.

See if Joyce wrote on the paper that was handed to, Allen.

What is it that made him go there? Allen smiled at me. Duncan gestured at it with a clenched fist.

After Allen wrote, he passed it on to Jex. Hala! What is it that they passed on, after Jex passed it on to Dwane, Dwane was still smiling after he also wrote and then he gave it to, Vincent.

Lah, ma'am is approaching us. I was suddenly nervous to see the evil look.

"Looks like you also have a subject here, right?" Ma'am's manly question.

"Nothing," I replied.

"Vincent, give that to me." ma'am held out her hand opposite Vincent.

Dead! I hope he doesn't give it away, it's embarrassing, the head was able to write before handing it to ma'am.

After taking the paper he went to the front again.

"Ok, class listen." my eyes widened because it looked like ma'am was going to read what was written there.

"You know, you're stupid."

I heard Duncan whisper to Allen, who just laughed.

"You can't complain and you can't quarrel with that teacher, because that's what your dad's last will and testament says." I heard Allen's words again but only weakly.

Soon I heard ma'am's voice, I just bowed because of the embarrassment of reading it.

"I love you Mazel Montero Patterson." Introduction by ma'am.

"Ayeee!"

I heard my classmates yell. Wahhh! I feel like I want to get out of the class room.

"Can you just read on your own?"

We looked at Duncan and you don't know if he's angry or not.

"What's that, go ahead, ma'am, continue." our classmates shouted.

Bell Ring

"Ok, class tomorrow again, I might lose my job." ma'am smiled at us and she came out first.

"Yes, go home!"

Dwane shouted and they came out one by one. Duncan grabbed my bag and slung it over his shoulder.

"Let's go." it's up to me because they're out Allen.

"Are you still going to work?" I suddenly turned to him

"No ah," I said together. He laughed softly when I smiled.

Duncan and I were walking out together with this nasty friend of ours.

8 months later ...

Eight months have passed, this is it! The most we all look forward to is our Graduation day. Here are all the graduates on this day of April. Joyce and I sat side by side as I looked back at Daniel's place.

"What are you Mazel, they're coming," Joyce patted me.

I just nodded, I looked at the place where mama and papa are both smiling now. Soon the speaker rang.

I smiled because I saw them walking into the Gym. Their popogi especially my Duncan.

When they arrived, they sat behind Joyce and me.

"Why are you alone now?" Joyce asked immediately.

"Us?" Allen replied. "We've been here before, we're just lying on the side out there." explanation of it.

"Tang-ina p're finally we're going to graduate too!" Allen laughed at Vincent.

We laughed at what Allen said. Duncan smiled at me and winked, I turned around. We were quiet on what the guests were saying as well as our principal. Until we sing a very good song.

Farewell

We used to be frightened and scared to try

Of things we don't really understand why

We laugh for a moment and start to cry

We were crazy

Now that the end is already here

We reminisce 'bout old yells and cheers

Even if our last hurrahs were never clear

As we sing it together I can’t help but cry because of the many things that have happened to us, we are still here and will face the new tomorrow again that awaits us because we have finally passed the second step.

It's really funny to look back after all of these years

After we sang together, we waited for a while and called out the names of the students one by one. To accept certification is the fact that we have graduated from high school.

Until we're next. While the graduation song was playing I saw that mama was crying. I just smiled at them and I heard called ..

JOYCE TAN

Joyce stood up and proudly walked towards the stage.

MAZEL MONTERO

I also stood up and I even felt Duncan hold my hand and I smiled at him.

"Nice, Mazel." smiling Allen said.

VINCENT GORAN ...

DWANE KANG ...

JEX WAN TIU ...

ALLEN MITSU ...

DUNCAN PATTERSON ...

One after the other, they stood up because they requested that they be called at the same time, I even saw them pushing each other to go up on stage. Like children I just shake while smiling at them.

After calling everyone. Everyone was screaming because we had graduated and Allen and Jex were jumping for joy.

Hugs here and greetings there fun look now here. My mom and dad came over and they both hugged me tightly.

"Congrats son, you've finally crossed over here." mama's happy language.

"Yes son, we're going to go to college now." laughed papa.

"Thank you, because you are there and support me. I offer it all to you," wept.

Until Dwane suddenly picked up Allen, who was helped by Jex and Vincent. They both tossed Allen upwards.

Laugh at all all the students including the parents who are here.

"Finally graduated high schooln too" Allen shouted as he was thrown upstairs. Duncan is also among them.

It was filled with screams and laughter because everyone was having so much fun.

"Mazel! Congrats!"

I turned around and saw, Duncan. Mama and papa moved away to leave us.

"Thank you, congrats to you too." my smile was sweet.

Suddenly he pulled my hand and hugged me tightly and I could feel his heartbeat.

"Thank you and you came into my life, you are the reason for all this in my life why I did it so well."

His words were serious and his lips dropped to mine, he just gave me a quick kiss. We were surprised by the sudden click of the camera, we just laughed and we all took pictures.
