Chapter 341 Not Scared to Death by You
"Okay." After hanging up, Olivia acted casual and told everyone, "I'm going to the restroom too. You guys take your time."
Then she quickly left the private room and headed to the place Daniel mentioned.
She took the elevator upstairs, and as soon as she stepped out, she saw Daniel standing in the hallway waiting for her.
Olivia jogged over and asked with concern, "What happened?"
Daniel's expression remained tense as he led her forward at a brisk pace. "Come with me."
Olivia didn't ask more questions and quickened her steps to follow him.
After they entered the lounge, Olivia saw a girl lying on the sofa.
She looked very young, wearing a pink and white dress, with delicate features and an outstanding presence.
At first glance, she could tell she must be someone important.
Right now, the girl was curled up on the sofa, looking very pale.
Even with her carefully applied makeup, she couldn't hide how unwell she looked.
Olivia also noticed that her hand was pressed against her chest, and she seemed to be having trouble breathing.
"What's going on?" Olivia looked at Daniel with suspicion. "Weren't you just taking a phone call? Who is she?"
"I don't know her either." Daniel explained, "I was taking a call in the fire escape stairwell and ran into her by chance."
Thinking about what just happened, he found it ridiculous.
When he was at the stairwell, this person suddenly pushed the door open, holding her phone.
She seemed to be going there to take a call too.
But she didn't notice anyone was there, and when she pushed the door open and saw him standing there, she looked terribly startled.
Then she fainted, and she fell right onto him.
Daniel had wondered at the time if he'd encountered some kind of scam.
He frowned, about to warn her.
But before he could speak, he noticed something was wrong with her complexion, and she had lost consciousness.
After telling Olivia what happened, Daniel's expression still wasn't great.
He said flatly to Olivia, "Check on her quickly."
While listening to his description, Olivia had already sat down beside the girl to examine her condition.
It only took a moment.
Olivia made her assessment and told Daniel, "This girl has a heart condition, and she should have had surgery years ago!"
Daniel froze at these words, his eyes jumping back and forth between the girl and Olivia, his heart tightening.
"She's not going to die from being scared by me, is she?" Thinking of this possibility made Daniel's expression even worse.
What a disaster!
Hearing this, Olivia couldn't help but laugh. "Don't talk nonsense. Quick, go open the windows and the door to air out the room.
I'm here, it'll be fine."
As she spoke, she took out her medical tools from her bag and began treating the person in front of her.
The girl before her had delicate skin, clearly well cared for.
Although she had a heart condition, her situation wasn't particularly serious.
Normally she was probably no different from a healthy person.
Just now, she must have already been feeling unwell and happened to be startled by Daniel.
Thinking of what Daniel said earlier, she found it oddly amusing.
In no time, Olivia had completed the treatment and placed a pill under the girl's tongue.
This was a medication developed by her research institute, designed for post-surgical recovery in heart patients.
It was very mild and dissolved instantly, perfect for someone in this condition.
"How is she?" Daniel watched her finish and asked with a frown, "I forgot to call an ambulance earlier. Should I call one now?"
Olivia nodded. "Better call one. After all, she fainted, and we don't know if there are other issues. It's best to go to the hospital for a checkup.
And try to contact her family."
"Alright!" Daniel nodded and was about to do so.
But then, a soft cough came from behind them.
Olivia and Daniel instinctively turned around and saw the girl on the sofa slowly opening her eyes.
Her eyelashes fluttered as she looked at the two of them and greeted them politely, "Hello!"
After speaking, her gaze suddenly fixed on Olivia's face.
A flash of surprise seemed to pass through her eyes.
Olivia didn't notice, only thinking that this girl had a really pleasant voice.
Soft and sweet.
Now that she was awake, she was even more attractive.
Those eyes especially—clear, pure, and a bit lively.
Seeing her wake up, Daniel momentarily forgot he was supposed to make a call.
Olivia was the first to react, taking the initiative to ask about her condition. "You're awake? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?
You fainted in the stairwell earlier. Do you remember?"
The girl thought for a few seconds and quickly recalled fainting.
She nodded. "I remember. I was startled when I entered the fire escape. You saved me."
Olivia didn't deny it and told her, "I just finished treating you and gave you some medicine. I'm a doctor, and I know you have a heart condition. Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere right now?
If you do, tell me! If it's really bad, we'll take you to the hospital!"
The girl's eyes were bright as she honestly told Olivia, "My chest feels a bit tight and breathing is uncomfortable, but it's not too bad. It seems to be getting better gradually. No need to call an ambulance."
She had heard their earlier conversation.
Daniel was still shaken, worried he'd scared her into something serious.
So he said in a detached and calm tone, "You should still get checked out. With your condition, if something goes wrong, it'll be hard to explain to your family."
The girl shook her head. "It's okay. This isn't entirely your fault. I forgot to take my medicine tonight and called someone to bring it up, which is why I went to that stairwell."
At this point, she glanced at Daniel and said seriously, "Don't worry, you didn't scare me to death."
Daniel's eye twitched and his face darkened.
He now realized his earlier comments had been rather embarrassing.
Olivia held back her laughter, not daring to make a sound.
He'd been in a bad mood all day, and she was afraid if she couldn't help laughing, he'd lose it on the spot.
After holding it in for a while, Olivia changed the subject and told the girl, "If we're not calling an ambulance, then call your family to come get you.
Have them take you home, and remember not to take any more medicine for now. I just gave you one.
If you don't feel unwell, there's no need to take anything else."
"Okay." The girl smiled and nodded. "Thank you. I'm not as uncomfortable as I was earlier. Your medicine works really well, and your medical skills are excellent.
Your reputation is well-deserved."
Olivia paused, pondering the girl's last comment.
Did she know her identity?
That made sense.
Whether in Emerald City or Harmony City, Olivia was, to some extent, a "celebrity."
This girl in front of her had an excellent demeanor and was probably an heiress from Harmony City's upper circles.
Olivia knew what people in those circles thought of her.
She immediately felt reluctant to get involved or entangled with her.
She smiled and said, "You're too kind. Go ahead and make your call. Once they arrive, we'll leave."
"Okay." The girl obediently agreed and quickly sent a message on her phone.
When she was done, she smiled sweetly and said, "I've notified them. They'll be here soon. By the way, are you also guests at tonight's event?"
Olivia shook her head. "No, we're having dinner at the restaurant downstairs. If you hadn't happened to run into him, we probably wouldn't have come up to this floor."
The girl's eyes darted around, looking somewhat puzzled. "Really? I thought you were both invited guests.
After all, you both have quite special identities."
Olivia had no interest in Harmony City's banquets and never actively inquired about them.
So when she heard this, she replied casually, "Our identities aren't that special."
The girl laughed softly. "How are they not?"
She pointed at Daniel. "I know this gentleman. He's the CEO of The Wilson Group in Emerald City. Even though he's not from Harmony City's circles, he's a famous figure in the business world, a leader among the younger generation.
Many heirs from Harmony City families don't measure up to him."
Daniel, who had been wearing a stern expression, raised an eyebrow slightly after hearing this, and most of his displeasure dissipated.
Everyone likes to hear compliments.
Besides, this girl's praise was quite on point.
Daniel's peach blossom eyes held a hint of interest as he said, "You have good judgment, unlike some people."
Olivia blinked and looked at Daniel.
She suspected his last comment was directed at someone specific.
But before she could figure it out, she heard the girl laugh.
Then she intimately moved closer and linked arms with Olivia in a familiar manner, saying, "But I think you're the most amazing!"
When she said this, her attitude was very sincere.
Olivia thought she was referring to her medical skills and was about to modestly respond.
But before she could, she heard several urgent footsteps from outside.
"Your family must be here."
As these words fell, sure enough, several figures arrived at the lounge.
The three people inside naturally looked over and saw a middle-aged couple rush through the door first, urgently calling out, "Anna..."
From their features, they resembled the girl beside them somewhat.
Most likely her parents.
Behind them were two more people.
The first wore a sharp suit that accentuated his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs, his noble and restrained aura achingly familiar.
Behind him, another man exuded the refined air of a business elite.
It was Andrew and David!
