Chapter 140 Go Find Him
Two hours later, the plane landed in Harmony City.
Before coming, Daniel had already booked a hotel. After leaving the airport, they went to check in first.
The appointment with the two bureau directors was set for the evening.
Olivia wasn't feeling well, so she decided to stay at the hotel during the day to rest and make sure she'd be in good shape for the evening.
After Daniel got her settled, he went to the Wilson Group's branch office.
When he came back in the afternoon, he immediately went to find Olivia. "How are you feeling? Any better?"
Olivia nodded. "Better. I slept for a bit and feel more energetic now."
That's what she said, but actually, she hadn't improved.
On the contrary, it seemed worse.
It was probably because there had been too much going on lately. She'd been so busy, and with all the emotional stress from the marriage situation before, her body was finally protesting.
But she didn't tell Daniel, afraid it would mess things up.
Daniel believed her and said, "Then get ready. We'll leave soon. I've already booked a restaurant."
"Okay."
Olivia agreed and quickly changed her clothes and put on some simple makeup to make herself look better.
Once ready, she and Daniel headed out.
That evening, they met the two directors from the Medical Bureau at a vintage-style restaurant as planned.
The directors were quite polite and straightforward people. Not long after the meal started, they began discussing the specifics of the special medicine.
"The government needs quite a lot of top-grade special medicine. After all, special forces personnel often go out on missions and come back injured. Regular medicine can't quickly relieve their pain. We've learned that Dr. Garcia is highly skilled and excellent at research and development, so we want to ask if you can develop medicines in these areas?"
As Christopher Taylor spoke, he handed over a list, clearly prepared in advance.
Olivia quickly took it to look.
The required medicines listed included antidotes, treatments for internal organ damage, and special medicines for various types of inflammation.
Olivia could understand.
The places where those special forces personnel carried out their missions usually had very harsh conditions. Sometimes, wounds couldn't even be treated in time.
And over time, if they missed the best treatment window, they would either die or suffer irreversible damage, leaving hidden health problems.
Over the long term, old ailments would naturally pile up.
After reading it, Olivia put the list away.
The two directors quickly asked, "So, what do you think?"
Olivia nodded. "The last two types are no problem, but the antidotes... that might be difficult. After all, there are so many types of poisons in this world, and there's no way to determine which one the special forces members might encounter.
Each type has its own special treatment method—for example, drug poisoning versus being bitten by insects or snakes... So we need to break it down into categories before knowing where to start."
Nicholas Jackson immediately said, "The insects and snakes from tropical rainforests—we can start developing antidotes for those! Based on current feedback, most of the missions involve those types of poisons.
Of course, we've also collected quite a bit of information about poisons. We can organize it and send it to you later.
Dr. Garcia can consider where to start... Even developing just one type would be fine."
Hearing this, Olivia naturally had no objections. "If there's data, that will make things much easier. But developing special medicine also takes time. I wonder if the government will allow for that?"
"Of course. We understand how difficult development is, so we won't pressure you too much. But we will check on progress regularly."
Christopher said with a smile, "This project wasn't originally going to be given to just one organization, but Mr. Hall personally mentioned the remarkable effectiveness of Dr. Garcia's special medicine. Rather than letting others experiment, it's better to give you more time to develop the best product.
Also, the military in Emerald City vouched for your abilities, so we simply made the decision."
After hearing this, Daniel was quite pleased.
Coming here, he thought getting one or two development contracts would already meet their goal.
But unexpectedly, the results were even better than expected.
Olivia was also pleasantly surprised.
"Thank you both for your trust. We will definitely give our all on the special medicine project and meet your expectations."
Christopher smiled but didn't mention that besides the guarantee from Emerald City, even the leadership in Harmony City had given orders to make sure the project went to her.
The woman before them might look delicate, but she was quite capable and seemed to have some solid connections.
That was why the two had been so polite from the start.
The dinner was pleasant for both sides.
Afterward, Daniel invited them to relax somewhere else.
The two directors didn't refuse, wanting to build good relations.
As for Olivia, after all that talking, her head was already spinning.
As a woman, it wouldn't be appropriate for her to go out with several men, so she simply left the hosting duties to Daniel.
Daniel wanted to have the driver take her back to the hotel.
Olivia thought about it and refused. "I'll take a cab back myself later. I want to take a walk and digest."
Daniel was a bit worried. "Are you sure you'll be okay?"
Olivia laughed. "Why wouldn't I be? I'm not a child. I won't get lost, will I? Just go and take good care of the two directors."
Seeing her face looked normal, Daniel finally relaxed a bit. "Alright, but don't stay out too long. Call me if anything comes up."
Olivia nodded and waved him away.
Daniel had no choice but to leave with the two directors.
After they left, Olivia exhaled.
Harmony City was colder than Emerald City, and even the wind was bone-chillingly cold. She rubbed her hands together and took out her phone to message Andrew.
"Are you busy, Mr. Hamilton?"
Andrew replied quickly with a photo.
It was a banquet hall with well-dressed people in elegant, high-end formal wear.
Was he... at a banquet?
Olivia was a bit surprised. She wanted to ask if it was convenient to meet, but then thought better of it—he definitely didn't have time right now. She might as well go there herself.
Besides, the environment in the photo looked special. She should be able to find out where it was.
Olivia immediately searched.
Sure enough, the image search showed the hotel's name—Capital Renaissance Hotel.
Olivia smiled and quickly called a cab, then asked Andrew, "At a banquet? What time does it end?"
Andrew replied, "Not sure. Is something wrong?"
"Nothing. You go ahead and do your thing. We'll talk later."
After sending that, the car arrived. Olivia got in and headed to the hotel.
When she arrived, she realized just how high-end this hotel was.
Inside was vintage-style architecture, and tonight it had been reserved by someone. To enter the banquet hall, you needed to show an invitation.
Olivia quickly said, "That's okay. I can just wait in the lobby until the banquet ends."
She hadn't planned to go in and disturb him anyway.
