Chapter 502: Only Hoping She Suffers a Little Less

Chapter 502: Only Hoping She Suffers a Little Less

Andrew paused slightly. Instead of answering as Olivia expected, he said, "Let me ask Mr. McCoy first. If it might upset you, it's okay if you don't remember."

He just hoped his Olivia could suffer a little less.

Just then, Rodolfo walked in.

Hearing Andrew's words, he asked curiously, "What do you want to ask me?"

Seeing him, Andrew said, "Olivia wants to know about us, and about her family situation. If we tell her now, will it add to her burden or affect her health in any way?"

Rodolfo thought for a moment, then shook his head. "I’m not sure, but we can try."

Hearing this, Olivia's eyes lit up with joy. She looked at Andrew expectantly.

But Rodolfo spoke first, "This is your husband. You two have a daughter named Bianca."

Olivia froze. She looked at Rodolfo as he pointed at Andrew.

Then he pointed to himself, "I'm your medical teacher. You've studied under me since you were young, learning medicine from me. Your parents are teachers. They're retired now. When you're working at the research institute, they help take care of your child."

As Rodolfo spoke, Andrew, Victoria, and Vaughn all looked stunned.

"Is it okay to introduce their relationship like this?" Victoria whispered to Vaughn.

Vaughn shook his head. He didn't know either.

Rodolfo remained calm. "What's the problem? I didn't say anything wrong."

Then he looked at Andrew with a warning glance and asked in a low voice, "What? are you not planning to marry Olivia?"

Andrew was startled and quickly explained, "That's not it."

It's just that they hadn't progressed that far yet.

But in Andrew's heart, his future wife could only be Olivia.

Rodolfo nodded and said matter-of-factly, "Then that settles it. It's going to happen sooner or later anyway. Besides, with things the way they are now, I don’t know about you, but I’d be worried. Being forgotten by someone you love deeply doesn't feel good. Might as well make the relationship official now. Victoria, Vaughn, Bianca, and I are all on your side."

Hearing Rodolfo say this, Andrew thought it made some sense.

Although he knew Olivia liked him too, her memory was unstable.

If she mistakenly thought she liked someone else, that would only create unnecessary complications.

Better to make their relationship official in front of the elders.

But Andrew wasn't completely without concerns. He looked at Rodolfo and said, "When Olivia recovers, I'm telling her this was your idea."

Without a proposal or a wedding, their relationship had suddenly been defined. If Olivia wasn't happy about it when her memory returned, she'd definitely blame him.

Rodolfo laughed, "You want me to be your scapegoat?"

Andrew said nothing, but his meaning was clear.

He wouldn't take responsibility for this himself.

Rodolfo didn't mind. He just said with amusement, "You get the benefits but don't want to take responsibility!"

Still, if it was good for Olivia, what did it matter if he took a little blame?

The two whispered for quite a while, leaving Olivia very confused.

What were they talking about?

Victoria and Vaughn had wanted to say something too.

But thinking about how Olivia and Andrew had already met each other's parents, and how they'd guessed the two had spent nights together on those occasions when they didn't come home, they realized that aside from a wedding, they were basically like husband and wife already.

Besides, Andrew hadn't denied it. There was no need to point it out.

Mainly, they trusted Rodolfo. He was a professional doctor. If he said this, it was probably for Olivia's health, right?

Rodolfo wasn't quite calculating.

He only felt that since Olivia had already forgotten, they might as well let her forget the Johnson family completely.

There was nothing worth remembering there anyway. Better to remember good things.

Olivia was still thinking about what Rodolfo had just said. She asked, "Is what you just said true? If I have a daughter, why haven't I seen her?"

Rodolfo explained patiently, "Because you're not sick—you were set up by someone. You were poisoned, which caused your memory loss. Bianca has the closest relationship with you and usually clings to you the most. If she knew what happened to you, she'd be very upset, so we haven't told her yet. But if you're mentally prepared, Andrew can give Bianca a heads-up about your situation. She's very smart. She'll understand your current state and won't blame you for forgetting her."

Olivia still found it hard to believe.

She was already married and had a daughter?

Seeing how much these people around her cared, she couldn't help wondering—had her family been happy and warm before?

She instinctively tried to search for past memories, but as soon as she had that thought, her head started throbbing and her brow furrowed deeply.

"Don't try to remember!"

Rodolfo immediately stopped her, his tone quite serious. "Your brain was affected by drugs and hasn't recovered yet. Don't force yourself to remember things you can't recall. It won't do you any good. Let everything happen naturally. I will definitely cure you. For now, just focus on taking care of your body."

Vaughn and Victoria also looked at Olivia with concern and urged, "That's right, Olivia. Don't push yourself. No matter what happens, your mom and I will be with you."

Seeing their worried expressions, Olivia couldn't bear to make them worry more. "Okay, I promise I won't force myself to remember."

Then she looked at Rodolfo and Andrew and asked hesitantly, "Can I see Bianca?"

Although she couldn't remember, when Bianca was mentioned, Olivia felt something stir in her heart.

She felt certain she must love her very much.

Andrew looked at her gently and said, "Yes. I'll go back later to get you some changes of clothes and bring her over. For now, eat something first, okay?"

"Okay!" Olivia nodded. She was indeed hungry and didn't want to waste all this good food, so she quickly ate everything.

After eating, Victoria tidied up. It was almost time for everyone to leave.

Andrew said goodbye to Olivia at her bedside, "I'll take your parents home. You wait here for me."

"Okay."

Olivia nodded obediently and watched them leave.

Andrew and the others soon arrived home.

After seeing Olivia, Victoria's emotions had stabilized considerably.

As soon as they entered, they saw Bianca waiting for them.

Bianca ran over and hugged Andrew's leg, asking sweetly, "Daddy, why are you just getting back? Where's Mommy? Why didn't she come with you?"

Andrew picked Bianca up and said gently, "I was just about to tell Bianca about this. Mommy is sick and getting treatment right now. She can't come home yet."

Bianca immediately became worried. "What kind of sickness? Does Mommy hurt? Can Bianca go see Mommy?"

Andrew said, "Yes, it hurts. It’s her head this time. Mommy has forgotten some things and might not remember Bianca very well. But this is only temporary. Mr. McCoy will cure her. Now I want to make a promise with Bianca. We'll stay by Mommy's side and help her recover together, okay?"

Bianca was very worried about Olivia. She immediately nodded her little head and said, "Okay! Bianca will definitely stay with Mommy and work hard to help Mommy remember Daddy, Grandpa, and Grandma soon!"

Bianca felt heartbroken. She looked at him with hurt eyes and said, "If Daddy had told me earlier, I could have gone to be with Mommy sooner."

Andrew smiled and rubbed her little head, saying, "You’re such a good girl. When Mommy finds out later how much you've been thinking about her, she'll be so happy. Even though she doesn't remember now, she knows you're not with her and wants to see you. That's why I came back—to bring you to be with Mommy."

Seeing how quickly Bianca accepted this and how understanding she was, Victoria and Vaughn both felt relieved.

They'd been afraid Bianca would be traumatized by this.

Seeing her emotions were stable, they urged Andrew to leave quickly. Victoria and Vaughn hurried to pack clothes and brought them to Andrew for him to take to the research institute.

When they arrived, Olivia was reading a book by her bed.

Her mind was blank. Since she'd slept so long, she wasn't tired. Too bored, she'd asked Rodolfo for a medical book.

It felt strange.

She'd clearly forgotten everything, yet as soon as she looked at the book, the knowledge came back to her naturally, as if it had always been there.

Just as she was absorbed in reading, she heard a soft little voice call out, "Mommy!"

Olivia looked up.

A small figure rushed toward her and threw itself into her arms

Soft and cuddly, Bianca was extremely beautiful, with delicate features like a doll that made people like her instantly.

And when she hugged her, the sense of intimacy that arose from deep within made Olivia forget to hesitate. She picked up Bianca without thinking twice.

Bianca snuggled in Olivia's arms, not wanting to let go.

But she remembered Andrew saying Olivia was sick, so she climbed down.

She obediently took Olivia's hand and sat down by the bed. Her moist, beautiful eyes filled with deep concern as she asked, "Does Mommy's head still hurt? Are you uncomfortable anywhere? If you're not feeling well, you must say so! Bianca will take care of Mommy. I can give you a massage!"

Hearing Bianca's concern, Olivia's heart felt so warm.

Bianca was so sweet. She couldn't help leaning close to Bianca and nuzzling her soft little face, saying, "When I see you, I don't feel any pain at all, and I'm especially happy!"

Andrew watched the mother and daughter interact, his eyes full of tenderness.

Between mother and daughter, even if some things were truly forgotten, the instinctive bond remained.
