Chapter 21 Michael Default Divorce?
Sophia recognized Daniel right away.
He had this commanding presence, with strikingly handsome features and an air of nobility that made him unforgettable.
But what really stood out was his background!
He was the head honcho of the Wilson Group, a giant in the medical and pharmaceutical industries both at home and abroad.
The Johnson Group couldn't even compete with the Wilson Group in this field.
Sophia had been trying to get her company's medical equipment into the Wilson Group's supply chain for a while now, but no luck so far.
She never expected to bump into him today!
Sophia's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly told her assistant, Nolan, "Go ask him if he can spare a few minutes to talk about a potential collaboration."
Nolan hurried over to catch Daniel, who was about to get into his car, and explained their request, "Mr. Wilson, hello. I'm Ms. Brown's assistant from the Brown Group. Ms. Brown is currently at the Johnson Group, working on developing AI medical systems. Could we trouble you for a few minutes to discuss a potential collaboration?"
Daniel's expression darkened when he heard the names "Sophia," "the Johnson Group," and "AI medical systems."
He had just finished a conversation with Olivia.
And now Michael's mistress was here, trying to show off in front of him?
Daniel's face showed clear disdain and annoyance as he coldly replied, "Does anyone think they can just approach me about work? Get lost!"
His assistant, Eric, immediately stepped in, rejecting Nolan with a cold tone, "Sorry, Mr. Wilson is unavailable. Please don't obstruct him here. For work-related matters, please make an appointment with the Wilson Group."
With that, he escorted Daniel to the car, and they drove away.
Nolan returned to Sophia, feeling a bit embarrassed, and reported Daniel's attitude.
Sophia frowned, clearly displeased with the cold reception.
But on second thought, given Daniel's status, there wasn't much she could do about it. "Forget it, it was a bit abrupt this time. We'll find another opportunity later."
Sophia turned and went inside to buy coffee.
About ten minutes later, she appeared in Michael's office with two bags.
Michael had just finished calling a few clients they had previously lost.
When he saw Sophia, he greeted her softly, "You're back?"
Sophia nodded, placing the coffee on the desk with a gentle smile, "I got this especially for you! How are things going with the clients? Should I go to your house myself and ask Olivia to come back? I really don't want to see you working so hard, handling both business and these trivial matters."
As she spoke, her tone became self-reproachful, "If I could get familiar with the work faster, it wouldn't be..."
Michael put down his phone and said, "You don't need to go out of your way to invite her back. I've already settled things. I'll just invite Mr. Howard for a meal later."
Sophia felt a surge of joy in her heart, her voice softening, "Michael, you've worked so hard. Let me massage your shoulders. You've been non-stop all day, and it pains me to see you like this."
She moved behind him and began to massage his shoulders.
Sophia's moderate touch was transmitted through the thin fabric.
Moreover, Sophia's body subtly brushed against his back with her movements.
A faint perfume scent enveloped him, causing Michael's usually cold eyes to flicker with emotion, then deepen as he grabbed her fingers.
An unknown emotion surged in his eyes.
Sophia, seemingly bewitched, flirtatiously scratched his palm, pretending to be shy, "Michael, you... you should let go of me. This isn't appropriate..."
Michael tightened his grip on her fingers.
After leaving the coffee shop, Olivia went straight home.
She was in a good mood.
Work had been sorted out, and now all that was left was the divorce.
But why hadn't Michael made any moves after all these days?
Olivia furrowed her brows slightly and decided to check Michael's room.
The divorce agreement she had left on the bedside table was gone.
It seemed Michael had taken it.
But he hadn't reacted to seeing the divorce agreement.
Was he agreeing by default?
Did he not want to discuss the terms of the divorce?
Or did he think her conditions were too high, so he didn't want to agree?
Olivia let out a silent scoff.
Even if Michael didn't agree, she still needed to talk to him about the divorce.
For Bianca's sake, she didn't want to drag this out any longer.
Olivia decided to call Michael.
The phone rang for a long time, but he didn't answer and eventually hung up.
That night, Michael didn't come home again.
Olivia was already used to his absences.
This house had long become optional for him.
Given that, why not just get divorced?
Dragging this out served no purpose.
Olivia felt frustrated and had a restless night.
The next morning, her head felt a bit heavy.
She washed her face with cold water, trying to regain some energy.
The sun was shining brightly outside, and the weather was nice.
After breakfast, Bianca seemed eager to go out, tugging on Olivia's fingers.
Olivia knelt down and asked gently, "Bianca, do you want to go out and play?"
Bianca nodded, her eyes constantly looking outside.
Olivia found it rare.
Bianca seldom showed such enthusiasm, so she wouldn't refuse, "Alright, let's change clothes and then go out, okay?"
"Okay..." Bianca responded softly, smiling brightly.
Olivia took her back to the room, changed her into outdoor clothes, and filled her little water bottle.
Then, she took Bianca to the city's central square to feed pigeons.
Bianca had a natural affinity for animals and played happily the whole time.
She held breadcrumbs in her hands, feeding the pigeons without hesitation.
Olivia stood by, watching Bianca.
Bianca wore a cute white princess dress, her delicate features surrounded by pigeons, resembling a little angel.
Olivia's heart melted, and she took out her phone to snap some photos.
Later, after feeding the pigeons, Olivia took Bianca to a nearby cake shop to buy her favorite strawberry cake.
They sat outside on the patio, enjoying the cake as a reward for Bianca's brave outing.
Bianca ate contentedly, holding her face in her hands, immersed in the delicious treat.
Olivia's heart melted watching her.
Halfway through eating, Bianca's attention was drawn to a balloon vendor across the street.
Olivia followed Bianca's gaze and saw balloons with her favorite pink fox design.
She bent down and asked gently, "Bianca, do you like them? Should I go buy one for you?"
Bianca nodded, "Okay..."
Olivia was thrilled.
Bianca was in great spirits today, responding a lot.
It seemed that not giving her Harper's medicine was the right decision.
Olivia continued, "Alright, you sit here and be good. I will go buy the balloon!"
Bianca nodded again.
Olivia quickly got up and left, while Bianca continued eating her cake.
Meanwhile, next door at the coffee shop.
The space, which had been reserved, felt particularly empty.
There were only two customers, one sitting and one standing by the floor-to-ceiling window.
The seated man wore gold-rimmed glasses, his deep eyes hidden behind the lenses, holding a sketchbook, focused on drawing.
His assistant, David, looked at the drawing, feeling puzzled.
The abstract art was hard to understand.
But he knew his boss was observing the psychological activities of people outside.
Today's progress seemed slow...
Each drawing had a dark tone.
This indicated his boss's displeasure.
Otherwise, he wouldn't be wasting so much paper.
The nearby trash can was nearly full!
David was used to this; it happened often.
But then he noticed the doctor staring intently outside in one direction.
Following his gaze, he saw a small figure outside the cake shop.
She looked familiar.
Wasn't this the same pretty child from the amusement park last time?
What a coincidence!
David was just thinking about this when he saw the doctor quickly start drawing again.
This time, the process was smooth, almost uninterrupted.
In about ten minutes, a complete portrait emerged.
It wasn't abstract but a highly artistic face.
The features clearly resembled the little girl outside!
Her eyes, depicted with pure innocence, sparkled like glass, her face radiating a bright, angelic smile.
David was captivated, unable to look away!
But the man in front of him didn't intend for him to keep staring.
Soon, he took the drawing off the easel, stood up, and walked outside with long strides.
