Chapter 29 Alexander I need your help

Chapter 29 Alexander I need your help
“Amara, the Lycan king left me at the battlefield all alone. I hated myself as I was about make the mistake of my life,” I said to her, running a hand down my face

She scoffed and started slicing the bunch of vegetables in her hands. “I told you earlier on. Have you forgotten?”

I heaved a deep sigh, resting my chin on my hands.

“ The Lycan king is absolutely obsessed with his mate, Angelina. The main reason he might have probably liked you was the fact that you share some familiarity with her.” Amara added.

“ I will do everything in my power to bring the girl down,” I stiffened my hands and threatened.

Amara laughed. “You should be careful of your decision. You're now digressing from the main focus. Your focus is to breach the line between the humans and the rogues and free yourself and your children from here, not fighting subtly in jealousy.”

My eyes rolled up at her, and I almost punched her jaw. How dare she say I was about to fight in jealousy?

Well, maybe I was but that was entirely not the point. That short red head was the one keeping me here.

“ I'm thinking of telling Alexander about it.” I turned to her and said.

She rolled her eyes and frowned. “ You're about to make one of the silly mistakes of your life, girl. Do you think Alexander will keep things hidden for his Lycan Alphas?”

“ At least, I'll have a witness. What do you think about it?”

“ No, you can't. We will come up with another plan, Lynn. You know what, there's this group of Lycan I share blood with. I can take you to them and they could help you.” As you landed, I peeked up to her and was stunned.

“ Are you serious? Amara, why haven't you told me about this for a very long period of time?” I frowned.

She rolled her eyes, sighed. “ Maybe because you haven't asked about my history and lifestyle.”

“ So tell me about your history, chief Amara.” I asked playfully.

She smiled back at me playfully. “I was once a beloved daughter of a Lycan Alpha but somehow, I'm now the chef of another pack.”

I opened my mouth as I looked at her, a pang of shock coursing through my heart.

“ Yes, Lynn. My father always wanted me to be a warrior, but I wanted nothing close to that. All I ever wanted was to be a chef. My father hated me and disowned me right before all the pack members. That day was hell for me. I thought I would become a rogue, that I will have nobody to call my own but fate had a better plan for me. One of my father's loyal men promised to protect me. He brought me here as a refugee for the Lycan king, hiding my identity.”

“ Really? So you're the daughter of a Lycan Alpha?” I asked, startled.

“ Absolutely, yes! If I take you to him I'm sure he could help us.” She assured me and grabbed my hands.

“ Thank you so much for everything, Amara. You're such a rare gem! You're the best gift I have ever received from the goddess.” I was becoming emotional at this point. My voice quivered but I stopped the tears from falling.

She grabbed my hands and looked into my eyes. “You'll be fine!”

After some hours, the Lycan king called for me in his chamber. He didn't know I came immediately he sent for me. He froze in front of a picture, his hands buried in his pocket. He muttered some words as he kept looking at the picture.

It was the picture portrait of his mate, Angelina.

He truly loved her so much, but for the girl, he might just be a pawn in her games. She was the coder responsible for backing up humans and the rogues against the Lycans. I hoped when he knew he would finally come back to his senses.

“ Alpha!” I called out for him and he exhaled, turning around to face me. He was shocked I might have stood there for some time. He tried hiding the picture but I already saw it.

“ Why do you think I should rescue you during the rogue attack?” He peeled off the old wound off my skin and I hated myself for it.

“ Because I'm your coder, and the race of the Lycans depends on me to survive!” I uttered boldly, tightening my jaw.

He squinted his brows, and laughed mockingly. “ Such a statement coming from a bought commodity!”

I swallowed the burn of acid that rose up to my throat. If I had a stronger wolf I would have torn him apart. Such a heartless beast.

“ You treat me like a commodity, yet, my son won the Nobel Prize for your pack. I'm still not more than a bought commodity?”

It was as though the statement weighed heavily on him. He paced closer to me and grabbed my chin as though he would tear me apart. I struggled to breathe as he lifted me up like I weighed nothing, pushing me to the wall.

“ You're still a mere commodity. A rejected fool who sold her legacy for a scoundrel who doesn't want you.”

Tears spilled from my eyes as he spoke. I groaned in pain as the air in the environment choked me. The room became smaller and couldn't contain me anymore.

He dropped me and I staggered, leaning against the wall as I caught my breath. I just smelled his dark side.

“ What are you supposed to say?!” He yelled loudly at me.

“ I'm sorry, Alpha.” I begged and fell on my knees, shedding tears.

He then carried a document and threw it at me. “The humans are advancing towards us day by day, you should stop them else I get you killed.”

I picked the document and strode out of the room, touching my hurting neck and gasping for air. I didn't go straight to the computer room, I headed to Alexander's room.

“ Alex, how are you feeling now?” I asked as I touched his chin and he woke up.

“ I'm getting better, Coder. What's the success rate?” He asked with a bright smile radiating his lips.

“ Better!” I leaned into him, watching around for prying eyes. “ I need your help, Alexander.”
