Adeline ignored her and continued walking towards the bus stop after saying, "There's nothing for us to chat about."
"Is there really nothing to chat about, or are you just too afraid to chat?" Molly pressed on.
Opening the car door and getting out, she grabbed Adeline's wrist as she confronted her, "Don't think I don't know what you're up to! You're younger than me, and I bet you're just a child yourself, let alone having kids. A woman who hasn't given birth, working herself to the bone for a six-year-old girl, is it all just for a few thousand dollars a month?"
Adeline shook off her hand. "Then what do you think I'm doing it for?"
Molly squinted her eyes.
In the chaos yesterday, she didn't pay much attention to this woman's appearance. But now, as she looked closely, she found that her face seemed to have been sculpted by an artist, flawless and perfect.
"You may be good-looking, but you should also know that Jasper is my fiancé. I advise you not to have any ideas about him!"
Adeline laughed.
When Molly seduced Jasper, did she ever think that Jasper would be her husband?
Now that the roles were reversed, she had the nerve to warn her not to be shameless here?
If this was being shameless, then Molly had long lost her face!
Thinking of this, she glared at Molly with cold eyes, "But what if I insist on pursuing Mr. Foster? What can you do to me?" She glanced at the scorching sun in the sky. "Can Miss Collins kill me in broad daylight?"
"No, I can't," Molly sneered and took out a voice recorder from her pocket. "You're not the only one who can record."
Adeline squinted her eyes. Molly had learned fast.
"I'm going to play this recording to Jasper now. Just wait to be fired!"
After saying that, she smugly returned to the car and drove away.
Adeline stood still with a furrowed brow.
She hadn't anticipated that Molly would come up with the idea of taking the recording to Jasper.
But it didn't matter. Everything was just beginning, and Jasper didn't trust her that much anyway.
...
In a hurry, Molly went to Jasper's office with the voice recorder.
Inside the office, Jasper was engrossed in a transnational international conference on his computer.
"Jasper!"
Ignoring Ryan's attempts to stop her, Molly barged in.
She rushed in without a care, saying, "I saw that maid of yours yesterday, and I knew there was something fishy! But I finally got the evidence!"
The man furrowed his brows, his voice as cold as his gaze, making it difficult to breathe, "Get out."
"Jasper, I..." She wanted to say more, but a voice from the senior executives of a subsidiary came from the computer, "Mr. Foster, if it's not convenient, we can discuss it next time."
Only then did Molly realize that she seemed to have disturbed Jasper's work.
"We'll talk next time," the man said and closed the computer with a cold face. He looked up at Molly's pale face, and said, "Speak."
Molly pursed her lips and nervously pressed the play button on the recording pen.
"I advise you not to have any intentions towards him!"
"But what if I insist on having intentions towards Mr. Foster?"
"What can you do to me?"
"Can Miss Collins kill me in broad daylight?"
...
After the recording finished playing, Molly looked at him earnestly, "Jasper, this woman taking care of Lauren has ulterior motives. As you've said, you won't let anyone with ill intentions stay around you for too long."
The woman bit her lip and spoke softly, "Although she takes good care of Lauren, she doesn't truly like her. People like her should not be kept around."
"I know," Jasper leaned back lazily in his boss chair. "But Lauren is dependent on her now. She just returned to me, and I don't want her to be unhappy. Besides, she takes good care of Lauren."
Molly lowered her gaze and fell silent for a moment, "Actually... I can take care of Lauren. After all, she is my sister's daughter, we are blood-related..."
"You can take care of her?" Jasper smirked mockingly. "How will you take care of her? With your slaps?"
Molly's originally prepared heartfelt words were directly choked back by his mocking remark.
After a while, the woman sniffled, "Jasper, I know you misunderstood me about what happened yesterday... but at first, I really didn't know that Lauren is your and my sister's child. I thought she was an imposter, that's why I hit her..."
As she spoke, she even lowered her head and shed tears, "No matter what, I am Lauren's aunt. Even if I made a mistake due to a misunderstanding, you shouldn't treat me like this. If my sister were here, she would choose to let me, her aunt, take care of Lauren instead of someone of unclear identity and ill intentions..."
She cried bitterly, but it seemed fake.
Jasper was annoyed by the noise.
The man glanced at her and said, "There have always been people with ulterior motives towards me."
As he spoke, he sneered, "When Adeline and I were just starting our relationship, you also had different intentions towards me, didn't you? And didn't I send you away?"
With that statement, Molly's tears instantly stopped.
She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but no word came out.
Him bringing up that incident proved that Jasper wouldn't do things according to her wishes.
After a while, Molly sighed and turned around in defeat, leaving.
"Sir."
After Molly left, Ryan knocked on the door and entered, placing a thick file in front of Jasper. "These are the findings from abroad regarding Adeline."
Jasper's long and slender fingers opened the file.
"It seems like there is news about Adeline..."
"The information doesn't seem fake," Ryan explained quietly, lowering his head. "She did grow up abroad and studied and worked there. She just returned home a few days ago. However, Adeline is a senior jewelry designer overseas. Although she may not reach the level of a master, she is still excellent. So why would someone like her come back to our country and willingly work as a maid for Lauren?"
Jasper narrowed his eyes.
Adeline's profile was incredibly detailed and perfect. But it was too thorough.
It detailed every important witness in each stage of her life.
The more perfect it appeared, the more it seemed like something was being deliberately concealed.
The man furrowed his brow and said coldly, "Continue investigating."
"She said she needed money, but her annual salary as a designer overseas is not small. She is not lacking money and she is not a superficial woman."
The man clasped his hands together, his gaze coldly fixed in the distance.
"If she approached me just because of who I am, then it's fine."
"But I’d risk nothing more than that."
He was afraid that she had ulterior motives. He always felt that this woman named Adeline was not ordinary.
