"Congratulations, now I want details," I said laughing.
"Thank you, twins a boy and a girl I'm about three months. Kristen says it is hard to tell because they are Alpha pups so they are big." Leigh told me. I stood up and hugged her.
"I'm so happy for you, are you going to continue to work after you have them? I asked her.
"Just teaching two classes a day . But I will be on call if something big happens and the need all hands-on deck. I have to decide who will get my surgical rotation. Both Tuli and Helena are equally qualified, so it is a tough choice. I have not talked to them about it yet, but I need to soon it is getting harder to stand for long periods of time." Leigh told me. There was a knock on the bathroom door.
"You two going to sit in there and chat all night?" Ben asked.
"We are coming out now, I will have Alpha Perri get you a suite for a few nights ," Leigh laughed as we went out of the bathroom.
Leigh hurried off and I walked with Ben back to the dining room.
"Why do we need a suite? I thought we were going to the cabin? Ben asked.
"I'm only out of the hospital because they released me into Leigh's care. We can't go to the cabin until the wound on my head closes" I explained to him.
"Why was I not told how bad it is?" Ben asked.
"Because your a big overprotective bear," Leigh said coming back over to us.
"Well, it is my job to protect my mate," Ben said in his defense.
"Oh Ben Leigh has some wonderful news to tell you, I said to stop them from talking about me.
"He already knows, when you were on the phone with the girls he noticed, " Leigh laugh.
"How long do you think it will take for the wound on Emma's head to heal?" Ben asked seriously.
"I'm hoping only a couple of days. I have to keep an eye on it in case it gets infected. Once it has completely closed there is less chance of an infection." Leigh told him.
"Emma, Cherity if you want to come with me I will show you to your suite, " Zeth said.
"Only baths Emma, Leigh said as we followed Zeth up the stairs. I did not realize how tired I was until I saw the bed. There were new pajamas laid out for us both.  I went into to the bathroom and washed myself down, I would have a bath in the morning. I put on my pajamas and crawled into bed. Ben went and had a shower the joined me just as I was falling asleep. I snuggled up to him as he wrapped his arms around me. Goodnight love he whispers into my ear as I drifted off.
The next morning I was woke up by Leigh removing my bandages on my head.
"Sorry I was trying not to wake you." She said smiling.
"Where is Ben?" I asked her.
"He and Alpha Perri are playing pool." She told me.
"What time is it?" I asked trying to find my phone.
"Emma stop moving it is two in the afternoon." Leigh told me.
"Why didn't anyone wake me?" I asked her.
"I woke you several times, but you needed to rest. I have been here since Cherity went to breakfast." Leigh said putting cream on my wound.
"How is it," I asked her.
"I think it should be fully closed my tomorrow. But that is up to Dawn and how fast she heals you. You don't heal as fast as you use too." Leigh told me.
"Don't repeat that to anyone." I told her.
"Emma tell me why you did it. I can' believe they made you pay such a high price just to change a couple of words in a scroll." Leigh said.
"You know about that?" I asked her.
"Just bits and pieces, I just found out the day you were on your way here. Sable told us.
"You can't tell anyone only Ben and Hailey know it all." I told her.
"Your bandages are done now scoot over so we can talk like we did when we were young." Leigh said. I moved over and she laid done on the bed on her side her head propped up by her hand.
"Start talking!" She told me. I laughed then sat cross-legged on the bed. It is true I did it for the scroll, but I wanted something else. I did not want Emerson to live her life worrying about her girls." I told her.
"What did you ask them to do Emma?" Leigh asked.
"I asked them to not make her pups silver wolves.," I told her looking at her waiting for her reaction.
"How do you know they would be?" She asked.
"Because I asked the moon goddess and she said they would be and would be more powerful then Emerson." I told her.
"So you gave up almost everything so they would be normal wolves?" Leigh asked surprised.
"All Emerson has ever wanted was to have a mate and regular pups. Then Angel came along and she had to make a choice to be the protector of the light or live a normal life. She chose to be the protector of the light. Now that Angel is grown and Emerson has that chance to be just a mom. I begged and pleaded for our ancestors to have that; I told them I would give up everything to see her nit to have to worry all her life like I did. " I told Leigh.
"You're pretty amazing, Emma. Does Emerson know?" Leigh asked.
"She suspects. But I have neither confirmed or denied it." I said.
"I will keep it to myself, let’s get you in the tub and some clean cloths on then we will go find something for us to eat. " Leigh said.  It was like we were young again and Leigh and Grace had just been found except it was Leigh looking after me now instead of the other way around.  It was not until this moment that I realized how much I really missed Leigh and Tammy and our beloved Grace.
After my bath and I got dressed in new cloths and joggers; we went down to the main hall. Warriors were hanging around watching television or playing cards. A lot of them said hi to Leigh a few remember who I was. We went into the kitchen there were about five ladies working.
"Out of my kitchen, you missed your meal you'll be waiting for another," a woman said with her back to us. The other giggled.
"What are you giggling at?" The woman asked turning around. Her face turned red with embarrassment.
"Doctor Leigh, I thought is one of those hollow legs out there looking to raid the fridge. Come on now and sit down here at this table I will fix you and Momma Bear some food." Hazel said.
