Chapter 58: Here We Go Again

As they left the office, the tension between Enora and the three men was palpable, their desire simmering just below the surface as they made their way to their apartment. With each step, the anticipation grew, the promise of what was to come hanging heavy in the air.

Sebastian, Adam, and Lucas walked close together, their hands brushing against Enora as they moved through the corridors of the mansion. Each touch sent a jolt of electricity coursing through her veins, her body humming as she yearned for their touch. As they reached the door to their apartment, Sebastian turned to Enora, his eyes dark with desire as he pulled her close, his lips capturing hers in a heated kiss. Enora melted into his embrace, her fingers tangling in his hair as she returned his kiss with equal fervor. Adam and Lucas watched with hungry eyes, their desire evident in the way they started at Enora and Sebastian, their hands roaming freely over her body as they joined in the passionate embrace. Enora moaned softly against Sebastian’s lips, her body arching into their touch as they kissed and groped her with reckless abandon.

But just as they were about to lose themselves in the heat of the moment, Sebastian’s phone rang, the shrill sound cutting through the air like a knife. With a frustrated groan, he pulled away from Enora, his expression clouded with irritation as he checked the caller ID. “It’s Seth.”, he muttered, his voice tinged with annoyance. “I guess he wants to discuss his allowance. Great timing.”

Enora felt a surge of frustration wash over her, the heat of desire quickly fading as reality sank in. Sebastian would go to see his grandfather, mostly because he doesn’t trust him. Sebastian glanced apologetically at all of them, his eyes filled with regret as he answered the call, his voice strained as he assured Seth that they would discuss the matter. But even as he spoke, Enora could see the tension in his shoulders, the frustration in his eyes as he realized that their evening had been derailed once again. With a heavy sigh, Sebastian ended the call and turned to them, his expression sheepish as he met their gazes. “I’m sorry.”, he said, his voice tinged with regret. “Raincheck?”

Enora forced a smile, her disappointment masked by determination as she reached out to squeeze Sebastian’s hand. “It’s okay, Sebastian.”, she said, her voice steady despite the turmoil raging within her. “We’ll figure it out.”

Adam and Lucas exchanged a glance, their expressions filled with concern as they watched Enora and Sebastian, their desire for her still burning bright despite the interruption. But before they could say anything, Enora spoke up, her voice tinged with determination as she turned to face them.

“Adam, why don’t you go check with Mia, to see if she’s seen anything else on the footage?”, she suggested, her tone eagerly as she tried to salvage what was left of their evening. Adam nodded. Lucas got a bit nervous. “I’ll go check the border.”, he muttered. “Check if everything is still in place.”

Enora watched them go, her mood had gone down the drain the moment Sebastian received the call. She needed some time spent with women. Without realizing it herself, she walked through the hallways of the mansion towards the exit to go over to Grace’s. Women, coffee, and freshly baked goods were exactly what she needed to be comforted.

As she reached the door to Grace’s cottage, Enora took a deep breath and knocked softly, her heart pounding with anticipation as she waited for her friend to answer. Moments later, the door swung open, revealing Grace’s warm smile as she welcomed Enora inside. “Enora, darling, what a lovely surprise.”, Grace exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine delight as she ushered Enora into the cozy interior of her cottage. “Come in, come in. What brings you here tonight?”

Enora forced a smile, her frustrations momentarily pushed aside as she greeted Grace with a hug. “I just needed some girl time.”, she admitted, her voice tinged with longing as she followed Grace further into the cottage. “And maybe some freshly baked muffins.”

Grace chuckled softly, her eyes twinkling with amusement as she led Enora over to the kitchen. “Well, you’ve come to the right place.”, she said, her tone warm and inviting as she set about preparing a fresh pot of coffee. “I just put a batch in the oven. They should be ready in no time.”

Enora watched with eager anticipation as Grace worked, her frustrations melting away in the comforting familiarity of her friend’s presence. Despite the chaos of her love life, Grace’s cottage felt like a sanctuary, a place where she could escape the pressures of the world and simply be herself. As the aroma of freshly baked muffins filled the air, Enora felt a sense of peace wash over her, her troubles momentarily forgotten in the simple pleasure of good company and delicious treats. She and Grace chatted idly as they waited for the muffins to finish baking, and the coffee to be brewed.

Just as the muffins were ready to come out of the oven, Enora got curious about what else Grace was cooking. It wasn’t the first time that Enora thought that Grace should make a profession out of it. Enora lifted one of the lids of a pot with boiling water and pasta. By accident, a few splashes of water landed on Enora’s hands, causing her to cry out in pain. Enora stumbled backwards, dropping the lid immediately. Grace rushed to her side, her expression filled with concern as she assessed the damage. “Enora, are you alright?”, she asked, her voice filled with worry.

Grace picked up the lid that Enora had dropped and wanted to place it back onto the pot. As Grace’s face was above the pot, she accidentally breathed in some of the steam, and started coughing. Enora winced as she examined her reddened hands, the pain searing through her skin where the scalding water had made contact. Her focus shifted immediately to Grace as she heard her friend start to cough, her expression growing increasingly alarmed as she watched Grace struggle to catch her breath.

“Grace? Are you okay?”, Enora asked, her voice tinged with concern as she rushed to her friend’s side. She reached out to steady Grace, her heart racing with fear as she watched Grace continue to cough and wheeze.

Grace waved her hand weakly, her coughs subsiding as she took shallow breaths. “I’m… I’m fine.”, she gasped, her voice raspy as she tried to regain her composure. “Just… just got a lungful of steam, is all.”

Enora wasn’t convinced. She could see the distress in Grace’s eyes, the way her breaths came in short, shallow gasps as she struggled to catch her breath. And as Enora looked closer, she noticed something else that sent a chill down her spine: the burns on Grace’s face and neck, the same burns that Enora herself had suffered before, when the water had been laced with wolfsbane. Panic surged through Enora’s veins as she realized what had happened. The water in the pot must have been contaminated with wolfsbane, just like before. And if Grace had inhaled the steam, she could be in serious danger. “We need to warn the pack.”, Enora said, her voice urgent as she helped Grace to sit down. “We can’t let anyone else use the water. It’s not safe.”

Grace nodded weakly, her breaths still coming in short gasps as she tried to recover from the ordeal. “You’re right.”, she agreed, her voice barely above a whisper. “We need to let everyone know before it’s too late.”

With that, Enora sprang into action, grabbing her phone and dialing Sebastian’s number. But to her dismay, there was no answer. She tried Lucas next, but his phone didn’t even ring. Panic surged through her veins as she realized that she was running out of options.

Finally, she dialed Adam’s number, her heart pounding in her chest as she waited for him to pick up. After a few tense moments, he answered, his voice strained with urgency. “Enora, what’s wrong?”, Adam asked, his tone filled with concern. “I was just about to call you and tell you what Mia and I found on the footage.”

Enora felt a surge of frustration wash over her as Adam spoke. She wanted to hear what he had to say, she really did. But right now, there were more pressing matters at hand. “Adam, there’s no time.”, Enora said, her voice trembling with urgency. “There is wolfsbane in the pack’s water. We need help.”

Adam’s voice was filled with alarm as he realized the seriousness of the situation. “Mia and I will warn the pack not to use the water. Can you call a doctor to help Grace, and maybe others we didn’t reach in time?”, he said, his tone resolute as he ended the call.

Enora took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts, but she knew that the doctor needed to be her priority. She looked at Grace, still struggling to catch her breath. Enora dialed Alpha Jameson, to see if he would help her out again.
