Ariana’s POV
Returning to the Silver Moon Clan with Elara felt like a dream come true. The journey had been filled with anticipation and a lingering fear of rejection, but as we stepped into the clan's territory, I couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging and hope.
My parents, who had been anxiously waiting for our return, rushed towards us. Their faces lit up with joy, and they embraced us with open arms. My father, a man of few words but a heart filled with love, held Elara in his arms, his eyes brimming with tears. He lovingly stroked her hair, a gesture that melted my heart.
"My precious granddaughter," my father said, his voice choked with emotion. "Welcome to Silver Moon Clan, dear."
Elara always full of energy and innocence, giggled and hugged my father tightly. "Grandpa!" she exclaimed happily, her tiny arms wrapped around his neck. It was a heartwarming and amusing scene, one that brought tears of joy to my eyes.
My mother, standing beside my father, couldn't contain her emotions either. She reached out and gently patted my father's shoulder, offering a soothing presence as he held our daughter. "Our little angel is back," she said, her voice trembling. "I can't believe it."
“ Grandmother!” Elara shouted excitedly.
My father, still cradling our daughter, looked at her with a mixture of awe and regret. "I missed so much of your life," he whispered, his tears streaming down his weathered cheeks. "I'm so sorry."
Elara with the innocence of a child, reached out and wiped away my father's tears with her tiny hands. "Don't cry, Grandpa," she said, her voice sweet and comforting. "I'm here now."
I watched the scene unfold, my heart swelling with love and gratitude. It was a moment I had longed for, a moment when my family was finally whole again. Elara had a way of bringing joy and healing to everyone around her.
My father gently put Elara down, allowing her to run around and explore her surroundings. He turned to me, his eyes still moist, and took a deep breath. "I need to talk to you," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.
I nodded, my heart pounding with anticipation. We moved to a quieter corner of the clan's territory, away from the joyful chaos of the reunion. My father took my hands in his, his grip warm and reassuring.
"I have to admit," my father began, his voice steady but heavy with emotion, "I was foolish and biased in the past. I allowed my prejudices to blind me, and I pushed you away when I should have embraced you and the man you love."
I swallowed hard, my own eyes filling with tears. My father's admission was more than I had ever hoped for. "Father," I said softly, "it means the world to me that you're saying this."
He sighed, his gaze searching mine for understanding and forgiveness. "I regret all the pain I caused you," he continued, "and I regret not being there for you when you needed me the most. I let my own fears and biases cloud my judgment."
I placed a hand on my father's cheek, my touch gentle and filled with love. "I understand, Father," I said, my voice filled with compassion. "We all make mistakes, but what matters is that you're here now, and we have a chance to make things right."
Tears welled up in my father's eyes once again, but this time they were tears of gratitude and relief. He pulled me into a tight embrace, and I held onto him, feeling the weight of years of pain and separation slowly lifting from our shoulders.
When we finally pulled away, my father looked at Lucas, who had been waiting patiently nearby. "And you," my father said, turning to him, "I owe you an apology as well. I misjudged you, and I'm sorry for that."
Lucas nodded, his expression gracious and understanding. "I appreciate your honesty, and I promise to take care of your daughter and granddaughter."
My father smiled, a genuine and heartfelt smile. "I can see the love between you two," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "I hope you'll both find happiness together."
My heart swelled with gratitude as I watched my father's transformation. It was a moment of redemption, a moment when past mistakes were acknowledged and forgiven, and a new chapter of acceptance and love began.
My father stood up, wiping away the last of his tears. "I have one more request," he said, his tone serious.
I nodded, eager to grant him anything he asked for. "Of course, Father."
He turned to Lucas, his gaze steady. "Please, never let down my daughter. She deserves nothing but happiness and love."
Lucas, a man of few words like my father, nodded solemnly. "I promise, with all my heart, to always cherish and protect her."
My father's eyes softened with gratitude, and he extended a hand towards Lucas. They shook hands, sealing the unspoken pact of trust and acceptance between them.
I couldn't hold back my tears any longer as I watched this heartfelt exchange. My family was whole again, and my father had not only accepted me but had also embraced the man I loved. It was a moment of healing and transformation, a moment that would forever remain etched in my heart.
Leaving Elara with my parents had been a heart-wrenching decision, but it was a necessary one. The Black Moon Clan was a perilous place, and I couldn't bear the thought of putting her in harm's way. So, as Lucas and I prepared to embark on our journey to find the antidote for the wolf's poison, we stood in the courtyard of the Silver Moon Clan, my daughter clinging to my side.
Lucas crouched down to her eye level, a warm smile on his face. "Listen, sweetheart," he said gently, "I promise I'll come back as soon as I can. But I need you to stay here with your grandparents. It's not safe for you to go with us to the Black Moon Clan."
Elara's lower lip quivered, her eyes filled with determination. "But I want to go with you and Mommy," she protested.
