Chapter 55 55

Chapter 55 55

Rhea’s POV

After the meeting we all had dinner that evening..a young girl about the age of twelve or thirteen came out to clear the table. She carefully pilled up the dishes and cutlery before carrying them all the way to the kitchen.

I gave her a light smile before she nodded in response. I noticed Damien smiled at her too as did Lucien when she picked up his plate. I turned to ask him “ who’s that young girl?” He smiled before he held my hand.
In that moment I could tell he cared for her or at the very least, she was someone who was important to him. “That’s my little sister Lilian, she’s our Father’s Daughter from an affair he had while he was alive….her mother died in childbirth and she was brought to us when she was two full moons,”

I held his hand then got up to go wash my hands and introduce myself to the young lady. But nothing could have prepared me for what I felt when I stepped into the kitchen.

I was overwhelmed with bloodlust and a killing aura….my arms became covered in goosebumps as I immediately realized I was in danger. I watched as a red mist began to surround this young delightful girl who didn’t seem so innocent anymore.

Before I could turn to the door she zoomed past me and turned the lock. Then it came with a punch to the gut.

All the air in my lungs disappeared and I found myself on the ground gasping. But that was not the end of my torment.
This twelve year old grabbed me by the shoulders and threw me across the kitchen counter. It was almost unreal.

I could hear someone banging on the door, trying to get in. But I was soon caught up in a rain of punches ... one to the cheek bone the other to my jaw and then my nose, one by one the young girl bloodied her fists with blood, but not hers, mine .

She reached for a knife on the counter and then I felt Nyra come out…. I kicked her in the stomp so hard…. I believed a part of me would feel bad about it later, but that was later… this was now.

She took the kick pretty well, she had stamina for a girl that young. I felt every instinct drive me to attack her, even though logically it didn’t make sense. And something else bothered me, why would she attack me ? It was Alicia who came off evil earlier.

Before I could decide to fight or escape. The door came off its hinges. The whole room reverberated off the sound. It could only have been him . Damien. “That’s enough Lilian, I think she had enough for today. Thank you sweetheart?” He said with a slight grin across his cheek.

Then it dawned on me, the smile they exchanged, that was Damien giving her the command. I immediately became filled with anger but I couldn’t take on him, I wouldn’t dare.

“You heal up and go with the women and children. I tried to tell you before, during the meeting, you’re not ready” He said with a stern look. One that said don’t argue, just listen.

My eyes fell to the floor, pieces of shattered glass and blood stained it. Mine from the way it looked. Then came the flood gates…I fell to my knees as I sobbed like a child who couldn’t cry out.

“ Lucien always said to keep your head up, even in defeat. You have to see yourself as more than a hybrid, you’re a wolf….a mate,”Damien’s voice overcame my ears and seemed to speak to it.

Just then Lilian walked up to me and helped me get back on my feet. “ Let's get you cleaned up, I’m sorry I had to rough you up a little, my name is Lillian, pleased to make your acquaintance,” she said with a little bow.

I didn’t know if I should have been scared or surprised, this wild beast had suddenly transformed into this young delightful girl again. I took her hand as she led me towards the back door and out of the camp house.

For the first time in a while I felt sorry for myself, I really overestimated myself because I found out I had abilities. Raw strength is useless if I cannot learn to use it. And I found out at that moment I have a lot of learning to do.

After walking for what seemed like ten minutes we arrived at the river bank. It was a beautiful sight to behold.
Water in its purest form gushes out from the base of the mountain. The flow , powerful, and clear as crystals.

“Come on jump in,” I heard Lilian say , followed by a big splash. “Trust me you’ll feel better, “ she added.
I took the hint and dived in. The coolness of the water hit me, but not in a harsh and bizarre way, but like cool energy flowing through my body.

“Our ancestors call this the tear of the moon, it’s ever flowing and healing,” Lillian said and she swam toward me. She touched my stomach when she punched me and all of a sudden the pain was gone .

I looked at it and so was the bruise. I’d never felt anything so pure before. “Thank you,” I said.

She smiled and swam towards the riverbank. I followed behind. “My brothers are going to need you to be strong, don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean physical strength although that counts,” she paused as she wore her dress.

“But that alone is not enough Rhea Vale , I believe you have what it takes to be the Luna this pack needs. My brothers saw something in you, well at least Lucien did,” she said as she began to walk down the path we arrived through.

Her words h
itting way harder than the beating she gave me earlier.
