CHAPTER FORTY ONE
CHAPTER FORTY ONE
Silvana's Point Of View
Today's the Crowning Ceremony!
Today's the Crowning Ceremony!!!
I couldn't believe it.
Finally, after forever, Garrick and I would be one...till the end.
My stomach was erupting in countless butterflies. I could barely sleep, I was so desperate to sneak into his last night just to hold him in my arms, but I couldn't.
One, it's a tradition we mustn't set on each other until the ceremony. After that passionate night together at the cottage, our hands wouldn't get off each other, if not that it was compulsory we shouldn't see each other since yesterday till the ceremony, I'm sure by now we would still be humping each other.
As much as I hate to admit it, Ravenna was right.
Garrick was like a drug, one you'd get addicted to. I could understand why she was still stuck up on him, but fortunately he's mine now, and mine alone forever.
Second, I knew he was tired from all the preparations but I couldn't wait! I needed to see him and fast!
I had already dressed up, done my hair and make-up, I sat next to the window, kicking my feet in the air. I excused the maids because I needed time alone...well, to just be alone I guess? The only person I needed right now was Garrick and I had less than an hour!
A sigh left my lips as I stared out the window, just then, I saw a strange figure lurking around in the garden.
What is that?
I leaned in, my eyes straining to see it clearly. The figure then stopped and looked up, it was wearing a cloak so I couldn't see its eyes but I knew it was directly staring at me back.
I felt a shiver run down my spine.
The figure then raised its hand, using its index finger to motion for me...to come???
No- I shook my head and tore my gaze away from the window. I'm seeing things, yes! Yes I am!
A knock on the door startled me. "Who's that?!" I yelled.
"Luna, it's me, Clara," I heard her say.
"Come in," I said, taking in a deep breath. She giggled as she stepped in, making me roll my eyes. "What do you want?"
"I just came to check up on you Luna, the ceremony will begin soon,"
I bit my lower lip. "I know, by the way," my voice trailed off as I looked at the window only to see the figure had vanished. I then looked back at her. "Has there been any complaints about anything? Like a figure lurking around?"
"No," her brows furrowed. "No, your highness, is something wrong?" Her voice rose in worry. "Did you see something?"
I tilted my head. Perhaps my adrenaline was getting to me, I could be seeing things. I looked up to her with a reassuring smile. "No, it's not. Don't worry."
Just then, another knock on the door interrupted. She looked at me and I nodded. "Come in." She instructed.
A young maid walked in, her head bowed as she stood at the door. "Good morning, Luna, there's a letter for you,"
"Hm?" I arched my brow. I had received countless gifts from people, including Eryk, I wonder who it's from. "From who, please?"
"There's no sender address," she said as she raised her head. My brows furrowed but I shrugged and gestured for her to come forward.
"Thanks," I said and dismissed her. She quickly exited the room while Clara turned to me.
"I'll be leaving now Luna, I have some things to attend to,"
I faked a pout. "What other things are more important than me?"
Her eyes shot wide open in shock, I burst out laughing making her roll her eyes. "Your highness, I'll be back in a jiffy." She said and left.
Immediately I ripped open the letter, my eyes scanning its content. It was only nine words with a familiar writing I knew too well.
'I'm here now Silvana, you may leave my throne.'
My heart dropped as the paper slid from my fingertips.
No no no no no no! I yelled and looked out the window again, there was still no figure. I picked up the letter and read it over and over again. Everywhere else was blank, just those nine haunting words.
Morgana- she's back.
In know when I bolted out of my room, headed towards the garden. There was barely anyone in the palace, my mind was swirling with a thousand thoughts.
Ravenna's words came flooding back, each one hitting deeper than ever.
'The real owner will come one day, and when that happens, your little secret might not be safe anymore.'
'Garrick isn't yours, he was never yours.'
I fell to my knees in the garden, my palm over my face as I screamed my lungs out. What's going on? What's happening?
"Luna?" I heard a voice speak, I turned to see a guard staring at me with wide eyes. "W-why are you here?"
"I don't understand," I choked. "What do you mean why am I here? And why do you LIKE YOU HAVE SEEN A FREAKING GHOST?!"
His eyes were still wide as he stared at me, just then Lachlan ran towards me, confusion plastered on his face. "Luna?"
"Lachlan?" His expression told me that something was going on. "Lachlan what is it? Speak to me!"
"Someone else is at the altar with the Alpha." He stated, his eyes still wide with shock.
No-
Immediately I got to my feet and ran into the Hall, pushing past the guards who just stared at me in awe. It couldn't be- NO!
My hopes died the moment my eyes laid on Morgana, who stood at the altar wearing a white dress, behind her, Garrick stood still, his eyes wide.
The day I thought my happiness was everlasting, my worst nightmare came to reality.
"Silvana," Morgana said, her voice laced with mock pity. "What a shame,"
I fell to my knees, my hand on my chest. It felt as if I was going to die. "Morgana... I...can explain...."
"So it's true?" A voice boomed behind me, I turned to see the highest Alpha, Jaxon, strolling into the Hall with his guards. His face was contorted with rage as he looked down at me. "When I was informed by a stranger that the Luna of the Stonefang pack was a mere omega, I was stunned and discarded it as gossip, until the real Morgana came,"
"I-i can explain," I choked as I stared up at him with teary eyes. "Please just let me...explain."
"Explain everything you want in the dungeon."
"What?!" I heard Garrick snap, but my head was too full to make sense of what was going on, it felt as if everything was underwater.
"Garrick! Stay out of this!" Jaxon warned as he stepped closer, I looked up to see Garrick standing opposite me, I hadn't even realized he was standing so close until now. When did he even rush here?
"I won't!" Garrick snarled back. "You can't lock her up!"
"Yes I can!" Jaxon yelled, his voice booming in the vast space. "Insolence!" He snarled, his eyes flashing with furry. "There's no explanation for such defiance! The ceremony is postponed!" He announced. "Instead, today we will hold a council and decide how you intend to fix this outrage!"
"You still don't have the right to lock her up!" Garrick insisted, his voice hardening.
Jaxon stepped closer to Garrick. "Then, would you prefer her dead? That's why things will be easily resolved."
My breath hitched at his words, I knew he wasn't joking. He was the one who always carried out the execution of omegas. That was also one of the duties of the highest Alpha.
Garrick sucked in a deep breath and looked down at me. "Fine then," he then looked up at Jaxon. "But you will not harm her."
Jaxon inched back and gestured towards two guards, immediately they grabbed my arm roughly. "I'll be the judge of that, Garrick. Her life is now in my hands and you know what happens to omegas...let alone betrayers."
