Chapter 84
Donald dropped by at my place for a weekend get together we had planned. Tricia and I prepared some lovely meals and Donald had got some bottles of non alcoholic wine for us.
He arrived early and decided to help us out in setting up the living room for the get together.
Tricia and I moved the food we cooked to the living room and set the table. Donald did a great job putting things in other.
Tricia killed the lights and the projector came on and the movie began to play.
"Hmm...this is really nice. Great job guys" Donald complimented us.
"Thank you and thank you for setting this living room up for the movie night"
"It's nothing. Uhmm...Monalisa, I want to discuss something with you"
"Oh go ahead. Tricia isn't a stranger"
"Well, I know that you lost your job, and you already have a baby on the way. You need a good job to sustain you and your baby"
"I know. I've already started looking for a job"
"Well, you need not look for a job anymore. That's because I already found one for you"
"Really! That's great. That's amazing. Thank you so much Donald. You just took a load off my shoulder. But then, where did you find this job and what sort of job is that?
"A designer job in a fashion company, my fashion company"
"Your fashion company? You've got a fashion company? Wow! I'm so proud of you. But then, where is this fashion company?~
"New York City. Yes, you are coming with me to New York, to have a fresh start of life. A good paying job, a car and a roof over your head"
"New York City? You mean, I should leave L. A? I don't think I can do that. If I leave L.A, how am I going t0 reunite with Jayden"
"Oh girl! Sometimes you talk sense and sometimes, you talk like you are under Jayden's spell. Did he cast a spell on you? Look, you've been gone for a week and you've received no calls, no texts, not even his presence to know how you are fairing. Weren't you the one wh0 told me that you need to get back on your feet before thinking of going back to Jayden"
"Yes I said so. If I leave, Cynthia would think she won the battle"~
"That's why you need to leave. Let her believe that you lost and she won, that Jayden is now hers and then strike back. Hit them so hard as a rock that they wouldn't know what had hit them"
"That makes sense. Tricia is actually right"
"I'll think about it. Let's enjoy the movie"
The thought of leaving L.A felt as though as I was giving up on fate that Jayden and I will get back together.
Jayden got home drunk and wasted. He staggered inside while his chauffeur followed him carefully carrying his bag. His chauffeur placed his bag on the couch and left on Jayden's orders.
Jayden fell on the couch and took off his jacket and neck tie.
"That's more like it"
His cook walked in and met the sight of Jayden looking so distraught.
"Sir Jayden, may I fix your dinner?
"Who the fuck is that?
"Your cook"
"What in the word are you doing here? Leave from here this instance"
"But boss..."
"leave! Jayden roared at her.
She took to her heels and left the living room.
Jayden was able to gather enough strength. He immediately rose on his feet and staggered to our bedroom.
He fell face flat on the bed and groaned.
He managed to adjust himself properly on the bed and dozed off.
A few hours later, Jayden rolled to the other side of the bed and slowly sat up, kicking off his shoes from his legs. He unbuttoned his shirt and took it off.
"I can't believe that I fell asleep like this. I stink of alcohol. I need to take a bath." Jayden tried getting up but fell back on the bed as he felt a bit dizzy. "what have I turned myself into? Drinking like a hopeless fool. I need to take a bath and get rid of this stench smell"
Carefully, he staggered to the bathroom, into the shower cubicle. He stood under the shower and switched it on, letting the water fall directly on him.
The warm bath helped him sober up.
Jayden changed into his sleepwear and returned back to the bed to sleep, however his stomach couldn't stop making noises.
"I'm hungry. I hope she made something before she left.
Jayden hurried downstairs to the kitchen and found his meal covered, he heaved a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness." He grabbed the food and hit it up in the microwave.
While waiting for his meal to be ready, he called our moments, especially our intimate moments in the kitchen.
"Monalisa really did have fun in our marriage. I never loved her, but in some way, she made me happy. She made me laugh and made me angry and she made...she made my heart race and for that I do not know. Do I really miss her?
The Microwave made a sound and he quickly grabbed his meal and dug in.
After the movie night I decided to walk him to his car.
"thank you so much Donald for coming over"
"No, thank you Monalisa. You guys made me happy and I really had so much fun"
"Well we all had fun tonight. I hope we do this more often"
"Well, I don't think it will be possible"
"Why? What's wrong ?
"I'll be heading back to New York soon"
"How soon?
"Next week. So I want you to think about our discussion earlier and make a decision and I hope would come with me and get a fresh start"
"I'll think about it tonight and I'll get back to you soon"
"Okay. I should head back to the hotel now. Take care Monalisa"
Donald pulled me in and hugged me. He patted my back gently before freeing me from his arms.
"Take care of yourself and that baby in there"
"Yes I will"
We waved each other goodnight and I watched him drive off.
My new journey is about to begin, and I do not know what the future holds for me and my unborn child.
