Chapter 363 Soul Mate Shenanigans
Chapter 363 Soul Mate Shenanigans
Dominic’s Armani dress shoes slapped against the marble of the office hallway as he sprinted towards Valerie’s office. Lucian had waited around with Dominic, sitting and hoping she’d respond to his message. When Valerie got to the office after classes, Lucian went to her office to see her. They both jumped as Dominic threw her office door open. Lucian started cursing and turning to hide as Valerie was bent over her desk, Lucian standing behind her, his pants around his ankles.
“Fucking hell, Domi!”
“She responded!”
“WHAT?!”
Both Valerie and Dominic yelled at the same time, wrestling with their clothes to get dressed and follow Dominic back to his office.
“What did she say?”
Lucian sat down in the chair, pulling a very giddy, but still blushing, Valerie into his lap.
“I just knew you were soul mates, Domi. I am so excited I can barely breathe!”
Lucian chuckled and kissed her forehead as Dominic unlocked his phone and read the message out loud.
Lou: English league, Cowboy. But I don’t hate the Italian league, just so long as you aren’t going to try and convince me the level of play is the same between them. I’m stepping into a surgery now, grits tomorrow night since I’m off work? Ask Rueby his opinion on brisket.
Dominic felt a weird mixture of elation and disappointment.
“She didn’t address the dream it at all…”
Valerie sounded disappointed as well.
“No, she didn’t. But, Domi, she also didn’t pretend she had no clue what you were talking about. I’m calling this a successful mission.”
Dominic nodded his head. Lucian was right. This was a win and he should be excited.
“So what’s your plan now, Dominic?”
Valerie leaned forward, very invested in this situation.
“If she just got out of a surgery and went into another, she hasn't eaten so I am sending her some food that won’t go bad if it sits there for awhile, and then I’m thinking another dream walk tonight.”
The three of them all nodded as they stood up again, going to pour through more of Morrow’s paperwork.
“By the way, you both know these doors lock, right? I have a soul mate now, you can’t keep trying to get me into threesomes…”
“Shut the fuck up, Dominic.”
Both Valerie and Lucian said in unison.

Luckily, the surgery was a quick one as the patient was beyond saving by the time they got them on the table. It was never easy, but it was a part of the job. Lou stepped into her office and saw a brown bag sitting on her desk with a note stapled to it.
“Deconstructed salad, La Bon Vie.”
She smiled, feeling a deep warmth in her chest. She didn’t need to ask, she knew who this was from. The fact that he was thoughtful enough to have it all deconstructed not knowing when she’d get out of surgery was just incredible, in her mind. He didn’t need to be told or fuck up once to learn those things about her career. He just automatically knew it. She glanced at her phone and saw a missed message from Kirstin.
Kirstin: Hey, meant to talk to you about something earlier on our call but got distracted. Call me back when you have a moment. Love you!
Lou called Kirstin back.
“Hey! I forgot earlier! Dominic, Lucian and I had an interesting conversation yesterday that I think I should bring you into.”
“…Go on…”
Lou said and held her breath. Things were getting stranger in her life by the second, it seemed.
“Well, they’ve been looking into a big sex trafficking ring lately, you remember how I told you they secretly break those up, right? Well, anyways, there’s a new, big one. They think it’s linked to a national sex club franchise system.”
“Are they thinking it’s our's?”
“Honestly, based on what they told me, I’m on the same page as thinking it’s ours. But I haven’t been a member for awhile. They got new ownership, right?”
“Yea, and it’s kinda gone to shit since then. Public shows in the bar area with girls who ain’t got no clue what they’re doing. New NDAs and new security at the door that are just plain rude. I’ve seen a lot of new faces lately, none of them seem like they are there to live the lifestyle, more like they are constantly on the hunt for somethin’. One of the bartenders told me they ain’t even acceptin’ new members right now because of security, even after they did a bunch of renovations on some private rooms in the back.”
“Sounds sketchy to me.”
“Soundin’ like I should cancel my membership…”
“Wait, before you do. If they’re doing what Lucian and Dominic suspect the owners are, maybe you can help them.”
Lou shook her head frantically.
“Dominic will hate me.”
“You would think so…but I took Nial there trying to show him I wasn’t deserving so he’d dump me in the beginning of our relationship. Even fucked a woman in front of him in one of mirror rooms. It made our relationship stronger because I shared the worst parts of me with him. That’s part of what we call soul mate shenanigans. Plus, if you do go for anything with him, do you want to be always worried he’ll find out about it? Don’t you want this off of your chest? Knowing Dominic’s reputation prior to meeting you, he may even want to join you there…”
“I feel like a beaver before a flood.”
Kirstin laughed.
“Not going to lie, Lou, I have no idea what that means.”
“It means I’ve built shit up and it’s about to wash away and there ain’t nothin’ I can do about it.”
“A house built on ghosts crumbles at the first exorcism anyways, Lou. Plus, this could be bigger than just you or I. If bad shit is going on there and we can do something about it, shouldn’t we.”
“Fuck. You’re right. Can I call you when I talk to them so we can do it together since they already know you were a member….wait…how did you get around the NDA?”
“Yes, of course. I didn’t tell them I was a member, Nial did.”
“He really didn’t hate ya for it, did he?”
“Nope, he even says he’s sometimes thankful for it since it taught me a thing or two. You know he built me a sex dungeon in his basement before I even agreed to move in with him?”
“Your fiancee is one gem of a man, Kirstin.”
“Soul mate shenanigans, my friend. Go read those emails and call me when you’re going to talk to the boys.”
“It’ll be when I get off work if they’re available. I don’t want ta’ lose my nerve.”
“I’ll be ready when you are.”
