Chapter 14 CONFIRMATION
Sianna POV
(Tuesday)
Staying home yesterday did some good. My pussy was almost heal, the man was trying to utterly ruin my core. I limped around the house when I knew no one was around. Tara checked on me and I lied about having a headache. The truth could not be told in this situation. She would ridicule me with her mockery.
Hailey and Curtis should be back in our pack today in the afternoon. Hailey and I agreed to talk later today after my shift. When I got to the café everything was already done which caught me by surprise. I went to the back room to put my bag in the locker when I saw him.
"Good morning, Sianna." He greeted.
"Matt, how comes you are here?" I sought clarity.
"I am the new hire." He smiled gleefully. "It was my luck to be here plus I get to help with customers on the computers. I am happy to be working with you."
"Me too," hypocritically said. He looked like he changed his shirt and headed to the front to the espresso machine. I followed suit but stopped by Tara's office.
"Hey, it's good to have you back." Tara closed her laptop to give me some time. "We have a new staff, his name is Matt and he started yesterday."
I nodded. "It's great to have extra hands here.'
"The Beta told me to expect two more persons to fill the vacancies." She seemed pleased. "But that doesn't mean that I want to see you go. So don't you to forget about this place."
I chuckled knowing that she understood my time here would be short once she got a full staff. I was only a helping hand because she's a dear friend and lacked staff. The business was fairly new but had been flourishing due to the location of being in a metropolitan area.
"Our friendship goes deeper than that." I reminded her. "I am going to have coffee before we open up." She nodded and I went around the front to pour my cup full. I eyed Matt who was setting the chairs properly in their position under the tables.
He strolled over to my side and took out some napkins to fold. "I am only here until I pass my probation on warrior training." "It's okay, we all need to make that dollar." Was he here because of me? The thought crept into my mind.
The rest of the day passed quickly. Matt was courteous and friendly so the customers loved him. A fight almost broke out in the café between two guys where one owed the other and didn't want to pay up. Matt's ability to resolve conflicts rapidly quelled the hot heads that were about to go off. Tara and I were impressed with him.
Vance messaged me throughout the day. I responded as promised. Our connection was growing and our conversation were not as strained as before. Today I wore a turtle neck blouse and Dereon jeans with the purpose of concealing my mark. For wolves, a mark is prominent and I planned to maintain this secrecy until I dealt with Curtis.
I found Matt staring at me with the most curious expression. "You smell different today."
I took out the freshly baked croissants and placed them in the buffet. "It might be my new perfume."
He shook his head in disagreement. “Nope. It's not a perfume scent. More like a mating scent. Have you found your mate?" When mates successfully complete the mating process, their scents blend and gives forth a distinctive aroma to others.
Warriors had a six sense for picking up on details. I played it off to ignorance. "No."
Luckily he pursed his lips and dropped the conversation. Though he quirked a brow at me to indicate that he did not buy my lie. I hope not to sound rude but I was not going to discuss this with anyone. I was avoiding my parents as it was.
Later on we shared some laughs and talked about the pack and life here. Matt told me about his childhood and some of his hardships. He said he got the wakeup call to abandon that rogue life when he watched his older brother died by other rogues. He wanted a family and hoped to meet his mate soon.
He might not be such a bad guy after all. Usually, rogues are not accepted at first. We were all skeptical until we got to know them. Rogues sometimes would use an opportunity to infiltrate a pack to achieve hidden agendas. Understandably, this was the rationale for packs to take in only a certain amount per year.
Matt offered to take me home when we locked up. "I think you miss riding a motorcycle. Just once would be good."
After deliberating I conceded "Alright."
"Be careful you two and see you tomorrow." Tara yelled.
He gave me a helmet and I put it over my head. I stretched my legs over the bike to get on behind him. I held him around the waist. I waved goodbye to Tara and off we went.
The feeling was exhilarating with the breeze blowing on my face, and combing through my hair. He sailed in between cars as he sped along the road. I threw my hands in the air in excitement and he giggled. "Whoo hoo!" I could get used to this. I should get my own bike.
He pulled up in my house and I jumped off the motorcycle. He didn't turn off the engine. I gave him back the helmet, smiling with gratitude. "Thanks for the ride."
"I knew that there was a wild girl underneath that sophisticated look that you always have." He smirked with a daring look." There's a lot more to you, Sianna."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You like adventure. A boring life is not for you. You need a badboy." He licked his lips and revved the bike before riding off. I scoffed. What was his deal? I spent some time with him and he thinks that he knows me.
Hailey pulled up by my house around 7pm. She threw me into a tight hug as I opened the front door to greet her. She held my hand and led me to my couch in the living room. "Are your parents home?"
"Mom should be home by nine." I vetted her concerned features on her face. I smiled to relax her and to give the impression that I was doing fine. "You have to tell me about your mate, Raj!"
"We will but your situation comes first." Hailey held both my hands together as if she was about to give me some bad news. " Curtis found his mate. They spent time together at the hotel. Has he........."
No matter how much I prepared myself to hear this, it seems that I was not ready to face the truth. "Would you like something to drink?"
She shook her head, "I am alright. I don't need anything." She sighed and took me by the shoulders to sober me up. "This is serious Sianna. First he lied to you. He intentionally was searching for his mate behind your back. Then he found his mate and didn't tell you about it. Hasn't he been too busy for you lately, even after you made the sacrifice to come back home so that you could be with him more."
I shrugged, "It was clear when he got intimate with her that we needed to be with our own mates and stop deluding ourselves of this forced love." I fake smiled at my best friend. "I thought we were genuine but it seems like there would always be something missing in me that only his mate could give him." A tear ran down my face and I quickly wiped it away.
Swallowing back my sobs, I tried to think positively though I face two choices. To forgive Curtis and salvage our relationship. Or accept my mate's mark and move forward with my Alpha.
"A relationship with lies will only sink. Has he even called you?" I felt the lump in my throat as Hailey said this.
"Yes, but I didn't accept his calls."
"Are you sure that you've got a handle on this?" She hugged me. "Do you want me to stay with you tonight?" "I'll do what I have to do. It's too late now anyways." Shaking my head to let her know that I was truly fine.
She scrutinized my words then with an inquisitive expression she asked, "Did something happen while I was away?" She sniffed "Come to think of it," She sniffed again, "You smell different." It another five seconds before she came to realization and it hit her, and her mouth dropped open with bulging eyes. "You scent is mixed with someone else. Was it your mate?"
"Come on, come on, tell me!" She kept bring my shoulders back and forth, shaking my upper body.
"Hey, hey, please calm down girl!" I removed her hands from my body. "Yes, I completed the mating process with my mate after seeing Curtis kissing that girl."
"Oh fuck me!" She screamed getting thrilled and enthusiastic. "Oh my God! Tell me more please."
I got up and went to the kitchen as she pulled out the high stool and sat on it at the island. "He's been trying to court me. Sending me text messages and flowers. Then he asked me out on a date so I went. You sent me that picture of Curtis kissing that girl so I told my mate to fuck me and make me his." I searched my mind to see if there was anything else to relate and nodded. " That's it."
"Who is he?" She pleaded with hands clasped.
I laughed at her anxiety and decide to come clean. "This is between us until I tell my parents tomorrow." She nodded in consent. "Vance........Alpha Vance!"
"No freaking way!" She covered her mouth in astonishment. "Luna Sianna." She fake cried and held out her hands for me to come into an embrace. "My baby is all grown up."
"Stoooop!" I chided, putting her hands down.
"Yes, Luna." She mocked me then asked with sparkling eyes. "So how was he.......you know........in. bed?"
"He was amazing, it's far better than anything I felt with Curtis." I self-realized. "I want him so badly just thinking about him."
Then my phone beeped as my alpha messaged me. Hailey and I looked at each other and laughed.
"It's that mental telepathy." She taunted again, her words sounded like a rap with a rhythm. "I am glad you chose him."
"Just let me message him back real quick before he finds his way over here when I don't respond." I typed that I missed him badly and that I can't get him out of my head, but Hailey was at my house so I would call him as soon as she leaves. He responded "Ok."
"So, it's your turn. What's Raj like?"
Her face lit up like a lantern burning brightly as she begun, "He is half-Indian and a Gamma of the White Clovers Pack. He is the cutest and so loving. He went back home but wants me to visit and meet his family. We will be dating first even though we did the mating process. I told him I want to make sure that you are okay first before I think of moving to his pack."
My heart saddened because it is normal for wolves to change packs once they meet their mate whom is from another pack. They would have to come to an agreement as to who would do the moving. Usually guys in their positions chose to keep their status
within their packs and so the female had to join theirs.
"You haven't asked me about Curtis' mate, Jazmine."
"I don't want to know about her. All that matters is that I know which direction my life is headed and my world is about to change. Vance and I still have a lot to settle and discuss." I rubbed my forehead in consideration. "I have to leave Curtis before my alpha gets blood lusted due to his jealousy."
"For what it's worth, he was very uncomfortable when we were around him at the hotel. He tried hard to avoid Raj and me. She looked whipped by him, so clingy. He was always with her whenever I ran into them." She told me in a dismayed tone. "So I asked her for her social media link and when I got it, I saw those pictures of Curtis. There was even one of him sleeping in bed with his top half."
"It's okay Hailey. I have moved on now." I couldn't bear to hear any more of the entanglement that he engaged in. 'Alright, I want to get home before Raj face times me." She hugged me again and rub my back in comfort. "I am just a call away." She left and I waited for Mom to come home so I could talk to her about these life changes. Surprisingly, I was not mad at Curtis. I felt jabs of pains whenever I remember how he had hurt me. But replacement thoughts of Vance eradicated that harrowing
memory.
Being with Vance gave me an understanding of what the mate pull was like and the effects of the bond were titillating and homely. Through it, I had jittery thrill, pleasurable lust, irresistible attraction, and happiness.
Regarding the negative, rushing into things with Vance was my major concern because I didn't actually know him. It would be heartrending if I gave him a chance and he hurt me too. I would shatter.
I think that I'll tell my parents tonight. Will they be happy or angry? I guess I'll find out soon.
