Chapter 31 You shouldn't be doing this.

Naida

I wanted her to go with me. She had been of good help, and if anything were to happen to her during my escape, I didn't know what I would have done.

“You have a lot on your mind, don't you? But I think that's the best option. You can't stay here. That alpha will make your life a living hell, then what's going to happen?" I asked her, but she smiled at me. Her smile was warm, revealing that there was definitely something else other than what I had said.

"I'm sorry, but I can't leave. I'm a maid here, and this is the only way I can be close to my family, and still take care of them.” Her words were kind of making sense, but I needed to fight the urge to listen to that voice. It was something I had been battling for a long time, and I was going to make sure that I took her with me.

“He could kill you. He might make sure your family never gets meals again, but you have to understand that it's not as easy as it seems."

She sighed. “I'd rather die here. I can't go with you. Yes, we might find another pack. This might not even be your life, but it's mine."

I was stunned by her words, and even when I wanted to convince her, I was sure I couldn't. She had already fixed her mind on this place and no matter what happens, I wasn't meant to go with her.

“It's fine then. I understand if you really don't want to go with me. I know how you must really feel. It's not as happy as you really wanted to feel. I get it, but then you have to be careful about things.”

She nodded her head. “Don’t worry about me. I will pretend like I don't know what he's talking about. He's not such a devil, maybe he is, but then…" she shrugged her shoulders.

I nodded. Since she was being delusional about the issue, I might as well give her the support she needed because if I at the end of the day end things right here, I don't know what I would have done. I wished there was a way to help out.

"Thanks, I have to thank you more for this. You're risking your–”

She shook her head.

"I'm not. That's why I'm asking for a favour. I know you want to escape so badly, and he knows that too. Please don't let me know the day you're leaving."

I furrowed my brows, wanting to know more, but she shrugged her shoulders not wanting to say a thing despite knowing the reason for my confusion. “It’s for a reason. Sometimes you might know the reason, other times, well it's best not to."

She exhaled. “I don't want to have to rat you out to the alpha. I want to make sure you get away safely without any issue."

She was right. I knew what she was talking about, but imagining her trying to struggle for life was such brutality to me. I didn't even know what I was doing anymore. All I knew was that I felt strange about everything else.

"Thank you for your help,” I said again, and she smiled, but that smile faded when we heard a knock on the door.

We froze, almost turning pale, but I was the first to break out the shock we had been given. " Olivia, please get the door,”

No one knew what exactly was being said. There was silence, nothing but absolute silence. I tried my best to be able to make sense of it, but then, it was better to leave things the way they were rather than coming into the picture.

Silence reigned again, and this time I was forced to exhale. “You really shouldn't be doing this. There are a lot of things that could happen. You don't need to worry everything will be alright."

She nodded after I had whispered. It seemed like she felt fear of the alpha coming in to see both of us.

Well, maybe she was scared of something else, like the alpha eavesdropping into our conversation.

"If he was listening, then there's no hope.”

The knock came again, and we looked at each other before Olivia rushed to open the door. As soon as she twisted the key to unlock the door, she twisted the knobs, but paused when she noticed a guard..

“The alpha asked me to bring you to his room."

My heart shattered into bits, my mind racing. Why on earth did he want me to show up in his room?

The lump that formed in my throat refused to leave, and I found myself being stuck.

I didn't know if I want to meet with him, but I knew that would only provoke him, and he wouldn't have any choice than to be here

"She'll be right there. I need to get her ready first,” Olivia said, and slammed the door to the guard's face before relaxing her back on the door.

She inhaled, and exhaled trying to calm her fast drumming heart.
“Are you going to meet up with him, or maybe–”

I frowned my face as created likes formed on the wave pattern that was on my neck.

"You need to stop acting this way really..I wish there was a way to make it happen so fast. To make him wish that he never saw me in the first place.”

"You need to chill out. I have an idea, and I need you to be able to calm down, and then go there. Maybe he wants to ask some questions. He noticed how quiet I had been these days I guess."

She hummed. "Or he wants to mate?” I heard a loud thud, and a wave of headache immediately flushed as I held my head.

The thought was draining, and painful.

“You okay? Is there any need to tell him you're–”

I interrupted her words. " No I'll go meet with him."
