Chapter 21 The Seed I Planted.

Chapter 21 The Seed I Planted.

Jayden

I was being dragged off like a slave. It was painful, yes it was, and humiliating, but instead of anger, I felt pleasure.

The way she cared for me, and tried to stand up for me back there only proved one thing, she was still in love with me. She still had that care, that worry in her eyes for me like back in the day when I was reckless.

When I would stay and get beaten up by the guys who tried to bully her.

I exhaled as I dreamt why the guards struggled to carry me out of the place. In fact, they dragged me to the extent that they immediately threw me out of the gate, causing me to land on the dusty ground.

Only then did the dream I had been living in expire. I groaned, taking a moment to lay there, and stare at the sky as they muttered words while they left.

“I don't think he knows who Luciver is because if he does, he wasn't going to come anywhere near her even if he wanted to.”

The other hummed in response. "Mmm hmm." As they both headed inside the pack gate, leaving me there.

I rolled my eyes. I didn't want them to think I had power, no, I wanted to appear weak.

I smirked as I stood up, dusting the dust off my skin, and clothes, and coughing lightly due to the suffocating feeling it gave.

Well, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday, the seed I had planted was going to be so good that it would make her come back to me.

My wolf immediately made me feel strange inside. He didn't seem happy with what happened.

“We’re supposed to be the one she's with, but that Alpha tossed us out like garbage. How are we going to get her back now?"

He asked, taking me by suprise. Maybe it was because I wasn't expecting him to actually be like this, or for him to actually care because in the beginning he didn't seem to care. In fact, it seemed like he wanted nothing to have with her because of Luciver.

I raised my brows stunned as I scoffed, still trying to clean myself up. "I thought you didn't care, what happened this time?” I asked with raised brows, and he scoffed.

“Did you see her eyes? She's worth dying for. She's pretty, and she's ours, always has, and always will be!” He seemed encouraged, and I smirked.

"Easy boy, that Alpha is strong enough to wipe the both of us out. We can't actually do anything about it, I'm telling you this, but we can ensure that he doesn't take her away from us for a long time. We just need her to be convinced.”

He hummed. "How do we do that, how do we convince her, make her see that Luciver isn't the one for her but us!"

I liked the fact that he was slowly agreeing with me on the things that are, and that are not. That was the reason why I had to come here.

"You don't need to worry about it. He won't have her for long. She looked really terrified today, I could tell, she doesn't care about Luciver. Did you see how she tried to make him stop hitting us?”

I smirked, well I guess that was the only way to make things work out well, and now that things had been done, there was no need to panic.

Once I was done cleaning, I started making my way back to my little home, my mine playing all the things that happened today as i smirked uncontrollably.

She was just so cute, so loving, so…. Ugh! I was engrossed in this feeling. Who knew old love could be this strong, who knew.

"Jayden!” I was so engrossed, but I heard it, causing creased lines to form on my face. My expression passed, my lips pressed into a thin line and my eyes squinted.

My eyes were perked up, and ready to listen, waiting for the direction where the voice had called earlier, but then it wasn't long before it called again.

"Jayden!” it was familiar. It was nice, it was all the things I was expecting, and for a split second I had imagined it to be her. However, as I turned my body back to see who it was, I immediately frowned.

The disappointment I felt couldn't be enough, and I rolled my eyes fast enough before she could get there. I darted my eyes around, thinking of the lies to evade her presence the moment she got there, but I was already choked up, and couldn't lie anymore.

She was wearing a big smile on her face as she jerked all the way to where I was standing, waving so much I felt her hand was going to fall off. However as she got to where I was, her expression immediately changed.

She furred her brows, and her eyes remained glued to my face. She didn't waste time, and tried to touch my face, her fingers inching closer, and closer, but I stopped her hands when it got to only an inch to my face.

“What happened to you? You look battered, and…” she paused, and stared at me, tilting her head like a five year old despite being a grown adult.
“You know what? Nevermind. Come, let's get you home, and tend to your–”

She held my hands as she spoke, but I immediately pulled my hands away from her, shaking my head.

“No, no, we are not going anywhere together, and the moment you understand that, the better.”

She furrowed her brows, obviously hurt, but she didn't want to give up.

"But your face, it's–"

“A cold towel will fix it. There's no need to worry, and don't you have somewhere to be, hmm?" I asked her in a low, yet harsh time, making her nod with her head and shoulders lowered. It was obvious that a lot had happened to her inside, but I didn't care. I had a new price now.
