Chapter 33 New Feelings
Lara
It was funny how everything changed in a second. One second, Elijah and I were shouting our heads off and the next, I was pressed against the wall with his hands gripping my thighs. My hands reached for his hair and I grabbed it, earning a groan from him. My lips were almost numb but I would be damned if I stopped. Why did it feel so good?
I saw my reflection in the dresser mirror in my room. Elijah’s broad back covered me as a whole and my legs were wrapped around his waist. My grip on his hair tightened as he sucked on my neck.
“Elijah..” I couldn’t even recognize my own voice anymore as they moaned his name. My clothes were now past tense as my bare body rubbed against Elijah’s. His head dipped and captured one of my breasts in his mouth. At that point, the remnants of common sense left my head. I would worry about anything else tomorrow. For now, it’s just Elijah and me.
The voices of the twins arriving about their chores in the garden woke me up. I slowly opened my eyes and was face-to-face with a tattooed chest. My heart skipped a beat. I had expected him to bolt out of the room as soon as the first ray of sunlight hit but still being in his arms while he was snoring softly did something to me. Elijah confused me a lot. I could swear I didn’t want anything to do with him yet something about him keeps drawing me to him. I wasn’t falling for him, was I?
No
No
Absolutely not
I shook my head and blocked off the thought. I will worry about that later. For now, I snuggled closer into Elijah’s arms and surprisingly he tightened his hold on me. I couldn’t stop the smile on my face as I closed my eyes and basked in the moment. I had a feeling we would be back to where we were before so for now, I didn’t want to think about it.
“You do know we have to get up at some point, right?” I heard Elijah’s deep voice ask. I froze in shock. Was he really awake while I clung to him? I kept my eyes shut and his chest vibrated as he chuckled softly.
I rolled away and sighed. “I’ll freshen up and meet you guys downstairs,” I said. I was about to stand up when Elijah pulled me by my arm back down on the bed. “What are you..” The question got stuck in my throat as he captured my lips with his. I instantly melted. I needed help.
“Let’s go.” He said breathlessly. My eyes were still closed as I nodded. I watched Elijah get dressed and I decided to head to the bathroom. A lot was happening in so little time and I didn’t want to overthink it.
I finally got downstairs after soaking myself in the tub. The trio was already seated having breakfast and I joined them. Ron passed me a plate while grinning.
“You do look well rested.” He said and I almost choked nervously.
“So does her husband,” Matilda said, removing her apron. It was just then that I noticed she was still around.
“Matilda, thanks for always keeping my breakfast when I wake up late. Dinner too.” I said. She and I almost never meet because I usually sleep in to intentionally avoid everyone at breakfast but she finds a way to save me a plate.
“Is that what he told you?” Matilda asked and I furrowed my brows in confusion.
“Matilda, your shift is over,” Elijah said not looking up from the paper he was going through. Matilda laughed before heading off. What did she mean by that? Wasn’t she the one who saved my breakfast for me?
“Axel, shouldn’t you feed your new brother?” Ron joked and I turned to see Tristan who was tied to a chair in the living room. Axel groaned before picking an apple and heading to the living room.
“Back to the plan, we need to bring Black Stone to the ground.” Elijah simply said as if he didn’t mean outright war. “But they have something about magic going on in there so we need to find out who is casting their spells.”
“And the real reason my parents were killed,” Ron added and Elijah nodded his head.
“What about the poison in your body?” I asked and Ron paused, thinking it over. “If the person who shot you with the poison is a magician then he can manipulate it as long as it’s in your body.” The pages of the book were still clear in my head. Whoever made that poison had the worst intentions and I wondered what Ron must’ve done.
“Then Axel and I can go instead,” Elijah said, Ron was about to protest when I held him back.
“You and I can go to the elf village and find a permanent cure for you. I know someone who might know what to do.” I suggested and Ron nodded.
“Sounds like a plan.” I felt someone’s heated glare on me and I looked across the table to see Elijah’s eyes fixed on my hand which was still on Ron’s arm.
“And this little pickpocket will lead us to the right places in his pack. Am I right?” Axel said, smacking Tristan who apparently took his golden chain off his wrist. I wondered how he was able to do that when he was tied to the chair.
“Get your hand off him.”
I heard Elijah growl through the mindlink and I smirked. “What are you talking about?”
“Don’t test my patience, Lara.”
“Or what?”
I knew I was just rage-baiting him but the anger on his face was worth it. “Upstairs. After breakfast.”
I choked on air. Upstairs? I had to press my thighs together when I recalled last night. Elijah smirked as he continued to talk to Axel like he didn’t just threaten me with a good time.
“What does the elf village look like?” Ron asked but at that point, my mind was just in one place and one place alone, upstairs.
