Chapter 45 Confirming Sibling Relationship

Anna's POV

Nick just sneered and kept his mouth shut; the Allen family secrets were off-limits for me.

Looking at Nick's silent face, it was obvious his good looks could charm anyone. It wasn't just his boss who valued him; many others did too. To survive in such a world, he had to be valuable enough to protect himself.

It made sense that he was a card shark, always needing to win. Since he was a kid, he ran an intelligence network, constantly gambling with his life.

"Nick, does your past have anything to do with my mom?" I bit my lip and stared at him.

Danial once said the triplets had every reason to come after me way harder than they do now; their hatred for me was way deeper than I knew.

And the time Nick got kidnapped lined up with when my mom was with Alpha of the Allen family.

Right then, Nick suddenly knocked on my head. "Besides my dad and Isaac, no one's ever dared to ask me. These things are hidden secrets in the tribe. Aren't you scared of asking so much?"

"I'm scared, but I need to know," I said honestly.

"Yeah, it does." Nick looked up at me with a casual expression, but his eyes were already hollow.

Even though I was ready for it, my heart still jolted when I heard his answer, and I bit my lip.

"I'm sorry." I looked down at Nick sitting on the hospital bed.

Suddenly, everything on the table crashed to the ground, and the cup shattered. Nick's gaze was also on the floor. He looked so calm, like he wasn't the one who had just swept everything off the table.

"You don't need to apologize to me," Nick said faintly.

I was stunned for a moment, and then Nick suddenly looked up at me. "Get out!" His eyes were dark, with strong emotions swirling inside, but it didn't seem like anger.

I picked up the box of medicine on the floor, planning to put it back on the table and leave.

But Nick got even more agitated, like he was holding something back. "I told you to get out. Don't you get it?"

"I got it. I won't come back again." I put the medicine back and turned to leave.

But before I reached the door, he grabbed me from behind and dragged me roughly about 10 feet before throwing me onto the bed.

"Nick?" As I looked at Nick, who was unusually agitated, an inexplicable fear surged within me.

"Now it's too late." Nick bit my earlobe. "Come with me to hell, Anna."

Even with only one good arm, Nick still managed to tear my coat and jeans to shreds. His fangs sank into my neck, like a wolf going for the kill.

The intense pain made me cry out for help. "Let me go, please, Nick!"

Blood flowed from my neck, and my hands gripped the bed sheets in pain; otherwise, I would have scratched my palms in spasms.

Nick's face was also stained with blood, his eyes glowing faintly blue, and his short, slightly curly hair was a bit messy as he exuded an extreme allure, yet also an unusually dangerous aura.

I gradually retreated to the edge of the wall, while Nick lowered his head and sneered, his messy bangs covering his eyes, making it impossible for me to see his expression.

"Why did you leave me? All these years, you never once came to see me." His voice was tight and sad.

It hit me then that Nick probably wasn't talking to me, but to someone who looked a lot like me.

Nick's shoulders shook a bit as he laughed with his head down, then suddenly moved so fast I couldn't see him, just a blur.

"No, you're not her." His hand suddenly clamped around my neck.

With his strength, my neck felt as fragile as glass, ready to shatter at any moment.

The dizziness from suffocation left me too weak to fight back, and just when I thought my neck was going to snap, the door burst open from the outside.

Nick was knocked out from behind, and his hand slipped off my neck.

I coughed violently, finally able to suck in fresh air again. I placed my hand in Isaac's outstretched one, letting him pull me up. I leaned against the wall, weakly gasping for breath.

Isaac walked over to the unconscious Nick, and I grabbed his sleeve from behind. "I asked him about his experiences five years ago, and he suddenly seemed triggered."

Isaac had almost killed Nick before, so I was scared he might do it again in a fit of rage.

Isaac turned around to look at me after hearing what I said. "I'll handle Nick, and don't let my father know about this, or he will punish you."

"Okay." I nodded, realizing that Nick's situation was a secret of the Allen family, not to be known by others.

Isaac had someone bring clothes, and after I changed into a long-sleeved dress that covered me completely, I followed him out.

As Isaac gripped the steering wheel and drove fast without saying a word, it was clear he was deep in thought. When he parked the car and was about to get out, I hesitated for a second before calling out, "Isaac."

I tugged at his sleeve, making him turn back and close the car door. As I gazed at Isaac looking towards me with a penetrating stare, my heart inexplicably beat a little faster.

I only dared to look at him cautiously, and after a long time, his breathing was noticeably uneven.

As I carefully moved my hand away from his sleeve, Isaac grabbed my wrist in return.

I hesitated for a moment and then asked him, "Isaac, do you hate me because of those things in the past?"

Isaac was silent for a moment before looking at me. "How much do you know?"

"I am related to you, right?" I nervously clenched my palm.

Isaac seemed troubled by this question, his gaze looking out the front of the car, his face showing a rare look of hesitation. "Maybe, I think so."

I was stunned for a moment, then asked, "Really?"

"Yes, just as you said," Isaac answered softly.

I stood there in a daze for a long time, my chest feeling heavy as if weighed down by a stone.

Isaac's words indicated that besides Nick's matter, there were many other complicated situations from back then. Many classmates said I was cursed, useless without a wolf form, and that I deserved everything that happened to me.
