Chapter 30

Chapter 30
CHAPTER THIRTY

AUTHOR'S POV

“The full moon is in a couple of days, Valtor.” Riven painfully reminded him. “If you keep avoiding it, it won't do any good for your health, you know that. You've been holding back for far too long.”

“What do you suppose I do Riven? Force it on her? She's not ready for any of this.”

Riven placed his hands behind his back looking through the window at the horizon as though meditating.

“Have you tried at least?” He asked with a knowing smirk and Valtor looked at him in bewilderment.

“Tried?” He mimicked with a tad bit of annoyance in his voice.

“Yes, you claim to not want to force her but no one is actually talking about force here.”

“Riven’s quite right brother.” Scarlet turned to say with a smile on her face at the corner of the room after being quiet for the longest of time. “This is the perfect time Valtor, you should treat her to dinner and bring her to the moonly festivities.”

“And give Maltor what he wants?”

“It doesn't have to be anything official and it wouldn't hurt even if it was.” She stood to meet him, holding his big strong hands in hers. “After all, Maltor is not your only family, plus I for one am dying to meet her.”

“Well…,” Valtor thought to himself and it wasn't such a bad idea if he actually had a say. It was true that he and Indigo were mated but none of them had a single idea as to how to even act. Considering two other Alphas being in existence. But if he continued trying to be so understanding all the time, it would do him more good than harm.

It didn't seem like the other Alphas were making much advances. At the end of the day Indigo was still his mate and he wanted to put up a fight.

“Fine.” Valtot sighed and Scarlet clapped her hands and clapped in glee, Riven looked over the jolliment  with a little smile. “But this stays between us. I don't want Maltor finding out she's anywhere near this pack.”

“Is that so?” Maltor muttered leaning against the other side of the door eavesdropping with his canine sharp ears. “We'll see about that brother.” He smirked before quietly leaving the scene.

Back in Shadowbrooke…

“So you're telling me you're in love with them all?” Winter asked, a bit worried, looking extremely concerned about Indigo's well being.

“Well, I don't know, maybe? I think so.”

“And you're certain that it's not just the mate bond talking?” Winter asked again, wanting to be completely sure.

“Yes, I mean with Lariq I was pretty sure what I was feeling was not the mate bond, my heart raced and everything.”

“How about Gage?”

“If I had to say Gage is the most loving out of three of them, and yes I do feel attraction but if I get past that he just feels like an old childhood crush.”

“And Valtor?”

“Ugh,” Indigo groaned, hiding her face behind her hands in shame as her cheeks pinkened.

“Indigo…” Winter called out pressingly and she looked at her through her fingers.

“The urge towards him is just too notably strong, I haven't spent much time with him besides during classes so I don't know if it's just the mate bond.”

Winter let out a little sigh of relief.

“You have to pick a stand.” Winter suddenly blurred out.

“What do you mean?” Indigo asked a bit perplexed.

“What I mean is you better make up your mind on who you want to bed. You can't keep these men waiting.”

“Winter, I've never done this before!”

“Oh.” Her tone fell flatly. For those who haven't met their mates or have refused to mate in total can still bed with other wolven. It was when you were finally mated and bound by the moon Goddess that you could only do the deed with that one partner.

“I did have a mate…that was before though. He rejected me and went for my sister, I was head over heels for him.”

“Well now you have three mates, why don't we start with Alpha Lyriq since you're actually certain you like him.”

“Should I just walk up to him or something?”

“Maybe? You could ask him out on a date.”

“Winter, that's supposed to be the other way around!”

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and both Winter and Indigo turned to look at eachother.

“Who could that be?” Winter muttered and Indigo shrugged signifying her to hold on and she would check. She peeked through the peeping hole and gasped.

“Who is it?” She asked again not being able to hide her suspense.

“It's Alpha Valtor,” Indigo mouthed and Winter's heart skipped a beat.

Indigo opened the door, she felt her heart sink as her eyes fell over Valtor fully holding a bundle of red roses wrapped in black paper in one hand and a box of chocolates in the other.

“Valtor what are you doing here?”

“Indigo,” for some reason he looked even more attractive, his thick hair sleeved back. His voice soothing, his smell that of wet earth and oak. He handed her the gifts.

“W–What’s this for Valtor?”

“Um, Indigo,” he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “I'm not good at all this but I wanted to give it a try. In my pack's culture, there's a ritual where we decorate the pack for the Goddess, we eat and celebrate and it's just this…whole thing. I wanted to ask if you'd come with me and maybe also have dinner the night before?”

Indigo's jaw was basically on the floor finding the right words to use. Valtor glanced over her shoulders into the room and spotted Winter, head faced down, arms wrapped around them on her knees. He could get the sense of…tears?

“I'll go!” Indigo suddenly blurted out drawing Valtor’s attention. “I'll…I'll come, I haven't seen much of festivities or culture since I got here.”

“Perfect then, I'll come pick you then, two days from now.” He smiled, he drew Indigo's small body in and planted a loving kiss on her forehead before bidding farewell.

“Can you imagine this Winter?” Indigo exclaimed as she closed the door. “It wasn't Lyriq but Valtor? You did say I should give it a try so– Winter?”

Indigo ran over to meet a crying Winter, “Winter? Winter what's wrong?”

“My chest hurts…”
