Celebration

“Your name is on the list!!”

Melody was still in shock at Rebecca's words when the girl grabbed her and lifted her off the ground to twirl her around. Melody shrieked in fright before grabbing at Rebecca's shoulder's from fear of falling to the ground.

“Drop her, Rebecca '' Hunter's voice held command.

He was frowning as he watched his sister. He so much wished that he was the one in Rebecca's position; carrying Melody and turning around with her in his arms. But, from the way Melody was gripping Rebecca's shoulder's and shrieking, he could also see that Melody was scared that Rebecca would drop her.

Rebecca ignored and continued to twirl Melody around, and in no time Melody stopped shrieking. Now, she was smiling when she realized that Rebecca wouldn't drop her, but her grip on Rebecca's shoulder's was still strong.

When Rebecca finally dropped Melody, she refused to let her go. Rebecca continued to hug Melody.

“You got in. You passed the first stage of the competition”

When what Rebecca was saying finally sank into Melody's head, she burst into hot tears.

Hunter stood to one side and watched as Rebecca comforted his mate. His chest was tight and he felt envious. He wanted to be the one with his mate in her ups and downs. He wanted to be the one at her side when she laughed or cried. All of that was impossible now, but he would make sure that it became possible soon enough. His wolf was becoming restless with each passing day.

An alpha, being close to his mate and not being able to touch or mark her, was the biggest firm of torture. He only held out this long because his wolf did not also want her to run from them, and she would do it if he made any moves on her now.

When Melody's tears seized, Rebecca held her by the hand and led her inside. Hunter followed them. His grandparents were not home as they went to see a friend in another City and would be back the next day. The three had dinner together and Hunter finally had the chance to tell Melody congratulations.

Her eyes were shining brightly. Brighter than ever as she told him, thank you. The dinner was a large feast to celebrate, and his grandparents even called to congratulate her and again, it brought tears to her eyes.

She has never celebrated anything since her mother died. Her mother always celebrated her birthdays by baking a little cake for her whenever her father was away. Her father has never wished her a happy birthday. Melody doubts that he even knew her birthdate.

How would a man who abuses his daughter even celebrate her birthday? As Melody ate, she gave a silent prayer in her heart that this won't be the last celebration she would have. She prayed that she would have more things to celebrate in the future. She would not just celebrate it alone, she prayed that she would be surrounded by the people she had come to love and her benefactor, whom she had a huge crush on.

Melody woke up on the right side of her bed and with a wide smile on her face. What Rebecca told her yesterday about her name being in the list of those that passed the first day of the competition was still fresh in her mind. She has been jumpy throughout yesterday while working with Hunter. She could not concentrate and had ruined some things for Hunter, but he did not get angry. He only tried to assure her not to worry too much and that she would pass the first stage, and she really did.

After brushing her teeth, Melody packed her hair in a messy bun before walking out of her room to the kitchen. She was going to be preparing a British style breakfast for everyone today without anyone's help.

She put in her apron and got to work immediately. Soon, the kitchen was filled with the aroma of Bacon and scrambled eggs.

“Good morning”.

Melody turned back with a smile when she heard Rebecca's voice. Rebecca's hair was scattered all over her face, and she was yawning while scratching her belly. She was still in her nightgown and her feet were bare.

“Good morning”. Melody returned before turning back to the tomatoes she was frying.

Rebecca sniffed the air as she walked over to Melody, “what's for breakfast?”

“Bacon, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, sausage…”

“ British style breakfast,” Rebecca nodded," is there going to be meat?”

Melody gave Rebecca a surprise glance, “of course not”

Rebecca groaned before walking to the freezer where they kept beef. She took it open and took a portion of meat. She woke up craving meat this morning, and she won't be fine until she has had it. It happens to every werewolf.

“You want me to cook that for you?” Melody asked as she moved to take out a butcher's knife.

Rebecca shook her head and snatched the knife from Melody, “you are already making breakfast already. Don't worry, I can do this”.

Melody nodded before returning to her side at the gas cooker. As she cooked, she watched from the side as Rebecca prepared the meat. The both of them worked silently until they were done.

Melody and Rebecca were both setting the table when Hunter came downstairs. He was already dressed for the office. Rebecca was the first person to see him and she greeted him.

"Good morning". He answered.

“Good morning sir”. Melody raised her head and gave him a small smile, which froze on her face at his appearance. He was dressed in a dark suit which hugged his body and broad shoulders. She had seen him dressed like this countless times in a dark suit, but she could never get enough of it. His dark hair was gelled back, and his face was bare and open. He looked devastatingly handsome for Melody's poor heart.

"Good morning honey”. He answered her with a wide smile, especially when he caught the look she was giving him.

Melody blushed at the endearment before looking down to continue what she was going before his arrival.

The trio sat down and ate quietly. The only sounds were the noise of cutlery against the plate and from their mouths as they munch on the food. When they were done eating, Hunter left for work while Melody and Rebecca went to do the dishes.

Samantha, Zain, Ariella and Morgan came in just thirty minutes after Hunter left, and the house became lively as they did another celebration for Melody.
