Chapter 127: You All Deserve to Die!
Tea poured from the pot in a chaotic arc, steaming as it spread through the air.
Sophia, quick to react, pushed Laura to the right while she dodged left just in time.
A delicate, gold-rimmed rose teapot shattered as it hit the dark marble floor, scattering pieces and splashing hot tea everywhere.
A sharp pain shot through Sophia's ankle.
Looking down, she saw the skin reddened where the hot tea had splattered.
"Madam!" Laura screamed.
Kimberly's bodyguard restrained her.
Charlotte approached Sophia menacingly, and other bodyguards were about to seize her when Sophia bent down, grabbed a shard of ceramic from the floor, and pressed the jagged edge against her delicate, pale neck.
"Take one more step, and I'll end it all right here!" she threatened.
Charlotte and the bodyguards were startled by Sophia's sudden, desperate move.
"Kimberly!" Sophia called out.
With a frown, Kimberly stood and gracefully bypassed the bodyguards to approach Sophia. "I don't believe you really want to die."
Sophia scoffed coldly. A thin line of blood trickled down from a small cut on her neck, staining her white skin red.
Kimberly pressed her lips tightly together.
"Kimberly, I'm Benjamin's wife. If I die here, all my inheritance goes to my husband," Sophia stated sharply.
"You'll never get the shares from Benjamin. Not in this lifetime."
Charlotte stepped forward, her voice cold and mocking, "You really flatter yourself, don't you? A bastard that can't show her face in public. Who cares whether you live or die?"
Sophia didn't stoop to Charlotte's level, her eyes fixed on Kimberly.
Among this group, only Kimberly had the real power.
Since Kimberly had hurried to reclaim the shares immediately upon her return to the country, it was obvious that the Summit Group must be under threat of external acquisition.
If Kimberly and Carter's shares were reduced further, they would lose absolute control of Summit Group, a scenario Kimberly would dread.
Kimberly's face was expressionless as she scrutinized Sophia, focusing on the non-lethal cut on her neck.
Sophia was just bluffing.
"Sophia, you're still so young, and your husband so commendable. Why succumb to despair?"
Sophia's laugh was devoid of care, the shard still at her neck, "It doesn't matter to me. I have no one in this world I care about. Dying to spite you would actually please me."
Unable to stand Sophia's smug demeanor, Charlotte instructed the hesitant bodyguards, "What are you waiting for? Seize her!"
The bodyguards exchanged uneasy glances.
Charlotte kicked the nearest bodyguard in frustration, "Restrain her!"
Sophia straightened up and pressed the shard deeper, drawing more blood.
Kimberly's expression shifted drastically, and she was about to intervene.
Bang...
The locked front door was kicked open, and the custom-made door fell straight down.
"What a lively scene," Benjamin remarked casually as he entered, hands in his pockets, his tall figure imposing yet relaxed, his demeanor nonchalant but his presence overwhelmingly sharp.
Behind him, Daniel and a dozen bodyguards entered the villa.
Benjamin's bodyguards, with batons, immediately filled the room.
Charlotte cowered and retreated behind Kimberly.
Benjamin's icy gaze swept the room, his dark, deep eyes radiating a fierce intensity, his air of authority undeniable and overwhelming.
His eyes fixed on Sophia, particularly on the shocking blood on her pale neck.
Benjamin strode forward, seized Sophia's slender wrist, and forcefully detached the shard she was holding.
Clink...
The ceramic shard fell to the messy floor.
"Who allowed you to do this?" Benjamin growled furiously.
Who gave her the right to harm herself?
Stunned by his formidable presence, Sophia momentarily forgot to explain herself, but there was no denying the relief she felt seeing him burst through the door.
Benjamin was visibly angry and breathed heavily.
He pulled out a handkerchief from his suit and handed it to her, "Press this on the wound!"
Sophia took it and pressed it against her neck like a puppet without its own will.
Benjamin turned to face Kimberly, hands on hips.
His handsome features were stark, his expression unreadable but his aura fiercely commanding.
Kimberly had only seen reports about Benjamin, a self-made man dismissed as insignificant.
When Carter expressed a wish for Charlotte to marry Benjamin four years ago, she found it laughable.
Her daughter would never marry a nobody.
Effort was commendable, but not enough in the world of capital.
However, the street dog had turned into a wolf.
She had really underestimated him.
"Ms. Bennett, I've heard much about you," said Benjamin, his tone light but dismissive.
"Benjamin, you do look more presentable than your photos in the magazines," Kimberly retorted.
Benjamin scoffed, "But you look much older than your photos."
"Benjamin!" Charlotte exclaimed, outraged by his impoliteness. "You're being so rude!"
Kimberly, having built the Summit Group from scratch with Carter, was widely respected.
No one had dared to slight her like this, especially when she still looked youthful for her age.
But Benjamin twisted the facts deliberately.
"Rude?" Benjamin smirked derisively, his gaze sharp as he surveyed Kimberly and Charlotte along with their bodyguards.
They had turned his home into a battleground and inflicted injury on Sophia.
He couldn't stand seeing her in tears, yet they dared to hurt her.
They all deserved to die!
