Chapter 124: When a Kiss Became a Torment

Sophia left the study and strode toward the master bedroom.

Benjamin caught up and forcibly stopped the door with his arm just as Sophia was about to close it.

Sophia glared at Benjamin, her voice cold and commanding, "Let go!"

"I won't!"

Benjamin's strong hand pressed against the door, preventing her from closing it.

He particularly disliked being in a passive and disadvantaged position.

In the past few days, she had been angry, giving him the cold shoulder, and not speaking to him, which he had endured since he was the one who had deceived her first.

He deserved this punishment.

But now, he knew she still loved him!

The shyness, nervousness, and confusion she exhibited in his arms earlier were real.

She still had feelings for him.

If she still had emotions for him, why dwell on things that had already passed, especially when the future mattered more?

"Sophia, let's talk."

Sophia turned her face away, unwilling to even glance at Benjamin again, and spoke with a hint of anger, "There's nothing to talk about except divorce."

"Divorce?"

Benjamin inhaled sharply.

He stepped forward, swiftly wrapped his arm around Sophia's waist, and lifted her off her feet before carrying her inside.

Suddenly airborne, Sophia lost her sense of security, her hands clawing at his arms. "Benjamin!"

What was he trying to do?

Benjamin roughly threw Sophia onto the bed and pinned her delicate wrists above her head.

"Divorce, divorce, divorce! Do you really want to divorce me?" he burst out, his frustration beyond containment.

Even people who were usually dignified and composed could lose their temper.

Benjamin genuinely couldn't tolerate her coldness and aloofness any longer.

Sophia raised her head, her pale chest heaving with emotion as she looked directly into the furious, red-darkened eyes of the man above her.

"Yes!" She gave a firm answer.

She loved him, but so what?

She would never let herself be mistreated again.

She had promised herself that she would always love herself first from now on.

Benjamin gazed at her pale, beautiful face. Her bright, clear eyes were resolute and unwavering as she spoke without hesitation.

Had she truly lost all feelings for him?

No! He couldn't believe it!

Benjamin leaned down and forcefully kissed her, his mouth sealing her soft, rosy lips.

Surprised by the sudden kiss, Sophia thrashed, trying subconsciously to escape his dominance.

But Benjamin wouldn't let her escape. His long fingers firmly held her jaw, his forceful, passionate breath disregarding her wishes and invading her lips.

In his irrational state, Benjamin was violent and wild.

The more Sophia resisted, the more brutally he restrained her.

Over their years of marriage, Sophia had never kissed Benjamin.

Her first kiss was with "Lucas."

She was used to Lucas' gentle manners for a long time. She believed that kisses could be passionate but were often tender, a form of expressing love.

But at that moment, Benjamin completely overturned that idea.

His kiss was harsh, even tormenting.

Sophia felt pain.

Her breath felt violently sucked out, nearly to the point of asphyxiation.

Her hands pushing against his shoulders gradually lost strength and fell away.

She closed her eyes in despair, no longer willing to struggle.

Feeling Sophia's resistance cease, Benjamin's fierce demeanor slowly extinguished, replaced by a tender gentleness as if comforting a frightened child.

His palm cradled her head as he kissed her lips patiently.

With her eyes closed, Sophia refused to respond to his conciliation, no matter how he pleaded.

Benjamin's breath was ragged as he released her lips and gazed at her pale, beautiful face.

"Sophia..."

His voice was hoarse with desire.

His rough fingertips gently traced her cold cheek, his expression a mix of conflict and panic.

Lowering his head, he rested his forehead against hers.

"Sophia, open your eyes. Look at me..."
