Seeing that Maggie was about to leave, Fiorello reminded her, "Shouldn't we exchange contact information? How will I find you later?"
Maggie felt a bit embarrassed, "..."
She suddenly remembered and quickly pulled out her phone, and they added each other to their WhatsApp contacts.
Fiorello also sent Maggie his phone number, saying, "Call me if you need anything."
This was Fiorello's personal number.
"Yeah." Maggie glanced at Fiorello's phone screen as he changed her contact name to 'My Wife.'
Seeing the word 'Wife,' Maggie felt a peculiar emotion stir within her.
Was she now a married woman?
She had intended to simply input his name, but seeing Fiorello label her as 'Wife,' she hesitated for a second before entering 'My Mr. Flores' as his contact name.
After updating the contact names, Fiorello was about to offer her a ride, but his phone suddenly rang. The words on the tip of his tongue turned into, "Be safe on your way."
Maggie didn't want to bother him further, so she hailed a taxi on the roadside and left.
Fiorello stood by the curb, watching Maggie depart when, not long after, a Rolls-Royce pulled up beside him, and the man inside rolled down his window.
"Fiorello, weren’t you supposed to be waiting for me at the café? What brings you to the Marriage Registry Office? I've been calling you non-stop. You have a six o'clock appointment in City A with CEO Holmes to sign the contract. Your plane ticket is already booked for the four o'clock flight. If you don't head to the airport now, you'll miss it."
The speaker was none other than the second heir to the Visionary Futures Group, Holden Flores.
"I just sign a document," Fiorello said, sliding into the car with a slightly heavy voice, "Head to the airport."
Holden Flores started the car and casually asked, "Fiorello, what document did you sign?"
"Marriage license."
Holden was so shocked by Fiorello's nonchalant statement that he nearly caused an accident. He mistakenly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake but swiftly corrected it, narrowly avoiding a collision.
"Fiorello, what kind of joke is this? You don't even have a girlfriend. Mom has set you up with countless women, and you haven't liked any of them. She almost thought you were into guys and was ready to find some for you to choose from. The Flores family is open-minded, after all. Plus, I can carry on the family legacy..."
"Keep it up, and I'll cut your allowance for the rest of the year in half."
Holden yelped, "Fiorello, come on, don't!"
"After you drop me off at the airport, go look for a house for me. Nothing too big, just a three-bedroom, two-bath will do."
"Why do you need such a small house, Fiorello? Isn't one of your several villas enough for you?"
Fiorello shot Holden a look, and this time he kept quiet, not taking Fiorello's marriage seriously and assuming it was just a joke.
He surely couldn't have just picked a random woman off the street to marry.
Maggie got home, and as soon as she entered, her mother grabbed a feather duster and began a tirade, "Maggie, you've grown too bold, now you're lying too? I asked you to go on a blind date, and how could you not..."
She couldn’t finish her sentence before she saw Maggie pull out a marriage license.
"Mom, I got married," Maggie showed the open document to Arya Stark, "You can relax now."
Arya was stunned at the sight of the marriage license.
She dropped the feather duster and reached out with trembling hands to take it.
Upon closer inspection, the man in the license was quite attractive. Then she looked at the name – Fiorello Flores?
She remembered the matchmaking website had introduced a man with the last name Florez. When did it change to Flores?
Could she have heard it wrong?
