Meeting Gonzalez mamber
Robert stared back at the pair of brown eyes of a young man who looked so intent on killing him. The distance between him and the man was only a circular bar table. The room was dimly lit by a bit of light from the yellow lamp that lit up the lined display of drink bottles. No one tried to get ahead to speak up. The cold beer in front of them began to warm up, as seen from the melted dew. It didn't even shake the interest of the two men to touch, let alone finish the drink. "Ryan Gonzalez," Robert muttered, "we finally met in a more relaxed way." Robert finally broke the silence. The familiar words spoken did not make the young man in front of him relax. Ryan was still staring at Robert intently, filled with a murderous aura. It was evident from the tightened jaw and clenched fists. "I think you hate me so much." "Why do you think so? Is there a strong reason for me to act like that?" The cynical words finally came out of Ryan's mouth and made Robert smile faintly. "Maybe you have that reason from your point of view," said Robert calmly. "My point of view? What's your point of view?" "Leaving Ruby, right?" Robert took a deep breath. "I have reasons for that." An image of Ruby flashed through his mind. He almost managed to forget the girl in the past who had made him lose faith in a woman's sincerity. Still, reality brought him back to a different ending. The other side he never found. Robert held the beer glass and then took a sip of its contents. His throat felt dry. The man had just realized that dealing with members of the Gonzales family could make him care about their feelings. "Ruby is gone. Kenzy is your right and Rose is now in your hands too," Ryan said with a cynical laugh. He flicked his index finger around the rim of the beer glass. "Isn't everything complete, Doctor Robert?" Ryan raised the glass in front of his forehead, "Cheers! I salute your greatness in conquering the poor Gonzales family. You have become a winner." Ryan gulped down the beer until the remaining half a glass. "It's just that I can't understand why you want a simple woman like Rose so much?" Ryan glared at Robert before continuing to finish the beer in the glass and set it hard on the table. "You've hurt Ruby, but maybe she deserves it. However, if you hurt Rose and make my sister suffer, I'm willing to be imprisoned for the rest of my life!" Ryan hissed menacingly. "I didn't want to hurt Rose," Robert spoke decisively, dismissing all of Ryan's preconceived notions. "Look at what the man who burned our house and shop said, the man who made Daddy deal with immigration and had the heart to see his biological child scared in the social service house." Robert squeezed the beer glass in his hand so hard his knuckles turned white. He stared blankly at the iron pillar that reflected his face. The pent-up tension and anger were visible there. "Not everything you conclude is true," said Robert quietly. "Which part of what I said was wrong?" Ryan walked over to the fridge and pulled out two red beer cans. He opened the lid and poured it into Robert's empty glass. "Rose has told me all about it." Ryan took a pint and drank half of it. "You know what hurts me even more? Even she, a fragile woman, is fighting desperately to be strong. Not for a second does she gives up or begs, she doesn't even call me for help. You know why?" Ryan's eyes filled with tears before continuing his sentence. He finished the rest of the beer in the glass and wiped his lips with the back of his hand. "Because Rose is an Angel. She has a sincere heart and has sacrificed a lot in her life." Robert was silent at Ryan's words. Word for the word spoken with an appreciation for Rose, showing how much love and respect Ryan has for his eldest sister, Rose. Robert sighed, he gulped down half the beer. "I can only confirm that… I didn't mean to hurt Rose and I promise to take care of her for the rest of my life." "Mr. Robert Miller, promises are not mere words, they are evidence. I don't know how often you break promises to other women and how you betray them." "I assure you, if never once in my life have I made any promise to a woman." "Not to Ruby?" "Neither with Ruby." Robert's words stunned Ryan. "So from the start, you wanted to play Ruby?" Ryan asked in a high-pitched voice. "You can be angry, hate me, but I ask you, how would you feel if the woman you thought she loved was sharing feelings with another man? Yes, I was young and made mistakes, but I was never with any other woman at that time besides Ruby!" Robert breathed a sigh of relief as if they had lifted all the weight. "My stupid Ruby and my poor Rose," Ryan regretted. Ryan regretted that he didn't have time to protect his two older sisters. He had already lost one and didn't want to lose another. Ryan purposely asked Robert to meet him on the cruise when he heard the news that the newlyweds were returning to Miami. At noon, the two men met when a piano bar aboard the Knight family's super-luxury ship was not operating. I could use an opportunity for the two of them to brainstorm and give Rose the freedom to relax alone. "You know, Doctor Robert, my dear brother-in-law," Ryan walked out of the bar to the piano in the middle of the room. "Rose likes the piano." Ryan put his fingers on the piano keys. "She learned it at church as a child but forgot about her passion for having to work hard for our family. She had a lot to give up, even choosing us over accepting her fiancé's invitation to marry and move to Canada." "You know the biggest thing about Rose's sacrifice? When Ruby was embarrassed to register Kenzie as her child, Rose sacrificed herself willingly. She doesn't care if another man will insult her because of it one day." Robert was stunned to hear Ryan's words. The young man's explanation made him understand why Rose's name was listed on Kenzie's birth certificate and how the woman was so persistent in defending Kenzie. Deep down for Rose, the boy was her biological child. "Ryan, I promise to take care of and love Rose for the rest of my life. I will never abandon her, let alone hurt her. Trust me." Robert made his promise sincerely. "Tell me, Doctor Robert Miller." Ryan walked over to Robert. "Do you love Rose with all your heart?"
